1 2017 Hillview Country Club Tournament Packet This packet, produced for Hillview Members, provides details regarding the 2017 tournament schedule for our organization. This packet also details certain policies, procedures and events, some of which are listed below. Please review the detailed description of tournament events, enclosed, for additional information. Signing up for events: Those members wishing to play in an event must sign up by 12:00 noon the day before the event in order to be guaranteed a spot. Those members signing up after the deadline are not guaranteed a spot, but may be placed on a waiting list and used to complete a foursome or to fill the field. The field will be filled on first come, first served basis. Members may sign up in the golf shop, call the shop at , or the Head Golf Professional, Elliot Elger at elliot@hillviewtime.com. Event description and game day rules: On the day of each tournament, every member will receive a description of the event to be played. Members will also be advised of any local rules in effect, hole locations, lunch procedures, course conditions, rules for golf carts and such. Play from the Senior- Gold tees: Those members who are at least 65 years old may play from the gold tees during Club events. A corresponding adjustment in handicap of minus 2 shots, will be made for such players. If 100% of your rounds are from the Gold tees you DO NOT lose any shots off of your handicap. Such members must declare their intention to play from the gold tees in an event before starting play that day. Pace of play: We will pay special attention to the speed of play during events this season. Please be aware of the speed with which your group is playing, and keep up with the group ahead. All golfing members are expected to heed the warnings of the golf professionals, and speed up when asked. If a group is warned about a slow pace of play and does not improve, options will be discussed. Holing out: All putts that will count towards an individual or team tournament score must be holed out, without exception. No gimmies are allowed if the putt will count as a tournament score. Tournament Index: New for 2017! During events, everyone will play at your Tournament Index handicap. The BlueGolf handicap system has the ability to calculate a handicap of only tournament scores. This will even the playing field. Old Buddy Match Play Tournament: Find a teammate and enter this season-long, single-elimination team match play tournament. The format is One Net Better Ball of the two-man team. Although there will be no limit to the number of teams participating in the tournament in 2017, teams signing up later in the process may need to compete in a play-in round to arrive at the field of 64 teams. Culligan Cup: The Culligan Cup is a trophy presented to the member who has accumulated the most points throughout the season by earning points based on tournament participation, and how well they played in those events. The standings will be available to see around the Club, and generating Culligan Cup points is the ONLY WAY to qualify for the 2017 Hillview Cup. Hillview Cup: The Hillview Cup Tournament is one of our most prestigious events. We reward those members who have played at the highest levels throughout the season by inviting them to play in this one-day golfing experience. Members qualify by earning Culligan Cup points for participating in Club events and by earning additional points for placing in the events. See a description of the Hillview Cup Tournament in the description of tournament events. In 2017, as with last year, all spots in the 24-man field must be earned by accumulating the greatest number of Culligan Cup points; last year s winners will not defend their title. 2 3/18/17 Irish Open (SATURDAY) ($30 Entry Fee) 10:30 A.M. Shotgun Start Make your own foursome or sign up as an individual. Call the golf shop or the golf shop staff to sign up. 4 person team best ball format. 3 Net on the Par 3 s, 2 Net on the Par 4 s, and 1 Net on the Par 5 s. Closest to the pin awards on all par 3 s Breakfast Sandwich is included and available in Lou s Den before the round. You will also receive a drink ticket when you turn in your scorecard at Big Wood s or Lou s finishing the round! 4/8/17 Masters Par 3 Tournament (SATURDAY) ($25 Entry Fee) + ($5 Cash Optional Skins-- Gross & Net) 10:00 A.M. Shotgun Start Hillview s layout will be transformed to an 18 Hole, Par 3 course, ala the Wednesday tradition at the Masters. Make your own foursome or sign up as an individual. Call the golf shop or the golf shop staff to sign up. Blind Draw ABCD team competition, and Gross and Net Individual competition. Closest to the pin awards on 4 different holes. Lunch on your own. 4/9/17 MASTERS Pick a Pro (SUNDAY) Normal Tee Times (A.M.) Entry Fee must be paid to the golf shop before you tee it up. Your NET score plus the pro s score from the final round. You cannot pick a player who is already on the golf course playing their final round. 4/29/17 Men s Opening Day Scramble (SATURDAY) ($25 Entry Fee) + ($5 Cash Optional Skins Gross & Net) 9:00 A.M. Shotgun Start A-B-C-D Scramble format. Sign up as an individual, you will be paired based on handicap. Call the golf shop or the golf shop staff to sign up. Lunch provided after golf. Closest to the pin awards on all par 3 s. 4/30/17 Last Day to Sign Up for the Old Buddy Matches (SUNDAY) ($25 per player Entry Fee or $50 per team) Season long match play! Grab a partner and sign up for this 1 Net Best Ball bracket style format. Handicaps will be set at 80%. It is a single elimination event and comes with all the bragging rights! This is one of the most flexible events at Hillview and we encourage everyone to sign up! There is no limit to the number of teams we will accept for this event.

3 5/2/17 Tuesday Night Men s Golf League- Opening Night Party $350 per team with 3-4 players per team 7:00 P.M. Opening Night Party (Play is optional beforehand) Opening Night Party for all of the Tuesday Night League participants! Choose your team name and your teammates. 2 players from each team will play each week and will let the golf shop know which 2 players will be participating for that week. League play is every Tuesday night at 5:30 P.M. from May until August. The first Tuesday Night League Matches will be played on May 9 th. Playoffs for the top 8 point getters will be September 6 th and 13 th. Format for each week is 1 Net Best Ball (Team vs. Team) and 1 Net Best Ball (Player vs. Player). The high handicapped players will face each other, while the low handicapped players will face each other. *New for Tuesday Night Men s League Handicap will be established for the year after the first few weeks. Tournament Index will be used the first few weeks. 5/6/17 Men s Stag #1 (SATURDAY) ($25 Entry Fee) + ($5 Cash Optional Skins Game) 9:00 A.M. Shotgun Start Net Stableford Format. (The more points the better!) Individual Event. Call the golf shop or the golf shop to sign up. You can sign up with a foursome or you can sign up as an individual. Lunch provided after golf. (-1) Net Double Bogey or worse (+4) Net Birdie (+1) Net Bogey (+8) Net Eagle (+2) Net Par (+12) Net Double Eagle Extra prizes: Closest to the pin awards on all par 3 s 5/13/17 Singles Match Play Tournament (SATURDAY) ($25 Entry Fee) A.M. Tee Times This event is a season-long, single-elimination match play tournament similar to the Old Buddy Matches. The format is Individual Match Play playing the White Tees with Gold Tee an option with handicap adjustment. Call the golf shop or the golf shop to sign up. Handicaps during the matches are calculated from the lower handicap of the two competitors. The first round of the tournament will be played on Saturday. Participants losing in the first round are eliminated from the competition, and the winners advance to the second round. The golf shop will post the bracket. The golf shop will set deadlines for each round to be played by, similar to the Old Buddy Matches. 5/27/17 Indy 500- Pick a Driver (SATURDAY) Normal Tee Times Play with your own group and sign up for tee times as you normally would. When you pay the entry fee you are allowed to choose one Indy Driver in the field. A point system will determine how many shots you get to take off of your Net score from Saturday. Lowest score wins. For an extra $10 you can choose a second driver. Whichever driver finishes higher in the field that is the driver you use. Driver Position: 1 st - (-6 strokes off of Saturday Score) 2 nd -(-5 strokes off of Saturday Score) 3 rd -(-3 strokes off of Saturday Score) 4 th to 7 th -(-2 strokes off of Saturday Score) 8 th to 10 th -(-1 stroke off of Saturday Score)

4 5/29/17 Memorial Day Shotgun Start + ($5 Cash Optional Skins Game) 9:00 A.M. Shotgun Reserve your spot in the Shotgun start. Play with your own group. All members will have the ability to get their round in early! The optional $10 game is for a BLIND partner draw. The golf shop will choose the 4 person teams while you are out golfing. Stick around for the Memorial Day Cookout after golf and have some drinks with friends! 6/3/17 Men s Stag #2 (SATURDAY) ($25 Entry Fee) 9:00 A.M. Shotgun The format is 2 Net Best Balls from the 4 man team. Choose your own group or sign up as an individual. Call the golf shop or the golf shop to sign up. Blind Draw: Two A Players will team up with two B Players while two C Players will team up with two D Players creating 2 different flights (AABB/CCDD). Lunch is included after golf. Closest to the pin awards on all par 3 s. 6/9/17 to 6/11/17 The Bernie Men s Member-Guest (FRI-SAT-SUN) Hillview s most prestigious Member-Guest event! Practice Round and Stag Night on Friday the 9 th, with golf tournament on Saturday & Sunday the 10 th & 11 th. This is certainly the showcase event of the season at Hillview and one weekend you should circle on your calendar right now! Entry fee is $500. The format is a 2 person team flighted event. Each flight consists of 6 teams who play 5 nine hole matches. 1 Net Best Ball is the format for each of the 9 hole matches and cards will be dotted off of the low handicapped individual. The winners from each flight after Match #5, plus wild card teams with the next highest scores, combine to make the Shootout. Pari-Mutual betting will commence and teams will head to the first Shootout hole. Teams will be eliminated after each hole. Chip offs will determine who moves on to the next hole if there is a tie for highest net score. The final 2 teams will duke it out for bragging rights on Hole 9 and be declared the 2017 Bernie Member-Guest Champions! 6/17/17 Parent-Child Tournament (SATURDAY) ($10 Entry Fee) Tee Times between 11:00AM-3:00PM preferred 9 Hole Scramble event. Call the golf shop or the golf shop to sign up. All age groups are welcome to participate and will be put in their respected flights. Each child s shot must be used at least once per hole. You may play with multiple children and you can play 1 ball off the tee. EXAMPLE: Father tees off and both of your children hit poor shots. Both kids can drop at their father s ball to play their next shot..or.father tees off and Child #1 hits a great shot and Child # 2 hits a poor drive. The father can drop at Child #1 s drive hitting 2 and child #2 drops at his father s drive hitting 2. The father will then play 2 balls that hole. *Children 10 and under will play from 150 yard marker and Red Tees on Par 3 s *Children will play the Red Tees *Children 15 and older will play the White Tees PLEASE HOLE ALL PUTTS OUTSIDE OF 1 FOOT IN LENGTH!

5 6/18/17 US OPEN Pick a Pro (SUNDAY) Normal Tee Times (A.M.) Entry Fee must be paid to the golf shop before you tee it up. Your NET score plus the pro s score from the final round. You cannot pick a player who is already on the golf course playing their final round. 6/24/17 Hillview TWO MAN Tournament (SATURDAY) ($40 Team Entry Fee or $20 per player) 9:00 A.M. Shotgun Start / 2:00PM Pari-Mutual Betting / 2:30-2:45PM Shootout 2 person teams and the players must have a combined handicap of 10 or greater. Call the golf shop or the golf shop to sign up. Format: Holes 1-6 One Best Ball, Holes 7-12 Pinehurst Alternate Shot, and Holes True Alternate Shot. Gross and Net game! Lunch provided after golf. Shootout: Following the round, teams have the option of signing up for a Shootout. The Shootout is a great way to have a few more drinks and cheer on.or root against your fellow members! Flights will be determined if the number of sign ups calls for it. 7/4/17 4 th of July Tournament Flag Tournament and Shootout + ($10 Entry Fee for PM Shootout) Normal Tee Times / 3:00PM Pari-Mutual Betting / 3:30-3:45PM Shootout Play with your own group. Each player gets a flag with their name on it. Your name is accompanied by your handicap plus 72 strokes. For example, if you are a 10 handicap, you would place your flag where your 82 nd shot ends up. It could be on #17 green or #1 fairway as an example. If you finish your 18 th hole and still haven t hit your number, you would go straight to the 1 st tee and play until the number is reached. *New for Blue Tee Division, White Tee Division, Gold Tee Division, Red Tee Division P.M. Shootout: All players are welcome to participate at $10/player additionally. There will be flighted Shootouts based on participation. There WILL be a Gross Blue Tee Division, a Net White Tee Division, and Net Gold Tee Division. Women are encouraged to play in the Red Tee Division as well! Pari-Mutual betting will take place starting at 3:00 or earlier. Anyone can bet on anyone! Similar to all Shootouts, players will be eliminated each hole until there are 2 players left on the final hole. 7/8/17 Men s Stag #3 (SATURDAY) ($25 Entry Fee) 9:00AM Shotgun Start Lone Ranger 2 Best Ball Format. Choose your foursome or sign up individually. Golf Shop will flight teams based on team handicap. Call the golf shop or the golf shop to sign up. The Lone Ranger MUST be determined before you leave the golf shop area to play in the Shotgun. The easiest way is to circle the Lone Ranger s holes that must count. Player 1 is L.R. on #1, Player 2 is L.R. on #2, Player 3 is L.R. on #3, Player 4 is L.R. on #4.etc. The Lone Ranger s Net score + the 1 best ball score of the other 3 players will give you a 2 ball total for each hole. Lunch is included after golf. Closest to the pin awards on all par 3 s.

6 7/22/17 The Hillview Classic (SATURDAY) ($40 Entry Fee) + ($5 Cash Optional Skins Game) 9:00 Shotgun Start All members welcome to play! Call the golf shop or the golf shop to sign up. Come and join us for a Hillview tradition full of fun, games, and prizes! Individual Gross game and Individual Net game. Closest to the pins on all par 3 s and other great proxy games. Putting Contest and Best dressed prizes as well! Lunch provided after golf. *New for Blue Tee Division, White Tee Division, Gold Tee Division, Red Tee Division 7/23/17 BRITISH OPEN Pick a Pro (SUNDAY) Normal Tee Times (A.M.) Entry Fee must be paid to the golf shop before you tee it up. Your NET score plus a random Professional the golf shop will Blind Draw for you. Professonal s in the top 15 after Saturday s round will be selected. 7/28/17 1 Day Member/Guest (FRIDAY) 1:30 P.M. Shotgun Start You may invite 1 or 3 guests. The format is 2 Net Best Balls of the four-man team. Call the golf, the golf shop, or sign up in the Men s Locker room. Each participant plays at 80% of his handicap. The entry fee for one guest is $59; for three guests the entry fee is $159. The guest(s) must be Non-Hillview members. Hillview social members are welcome to play as guests of golfing members. The entry fee includes golf, cart, dinner and prizes. Optional lunch will be available before the round. Closest to the pin awards on all par 3 s 8/5/17 Beat the Pro s (SATURDAY) (Optional $ Bet) Normal Tee Times Play with your own group and bet any denomination up to $100. Call the golf shop or the golf shop to sign up. Your net score for the day vs. Elliot. Win the bet and double your wager in golf shop credit. Tie your score with Elliot, and receive your bet in golf shop credit. Lose, and you lose your bet. 8/13/17 PGA Championship Pick a Pro (SUNDAY) Normal Tee Times (A.M.) Entry Fee must be paid to the golf shop before you tee it up. Your NET score plus the pro s score from the final round. You cannot pick a player who is already on the golf course playing their final round. 8/19/17 Men s Club Championship Flight Qualifier (SATURDAY) ($35 Entry Fee) A.M. Tee Times For those who wish to play in the Championship Flight for the Club Championship. Call the golf shop or the golf shop to sign up. This 18 hole qualifier is for those who wish to play for the overall 2017 Men s Club Championship. The top 8 scores will advance to the 8 man match play to be played the following weekend.

7 8/26/17 & 8/27/17 Men s Club Championship Match Play (SAT & SUN) ($35 Entry Fee) A.M. & P.M. Tee Times The Championship Flight s final 8 will play their Quarterfinal and Semifinal matches on Saturday to trim the field to the final 2, who will duel it out for the 2017 Men s Club Championship. All other flights will be determined by tournament handicap index using 100% of handicap. If you failed to qualify for the top 8 in the Championship Flight, you are eligible to play in the Net Bracket. The Net Brackets are the exact same as the Championship Bracket in which the quarterfinals and semifinals will be played on Saturday, while the final will take place on Sunday. Includes favors, trophies, and prizes. 9/2/17 Men s Stag #4 (SATURDAY) ($25 Entry Fee) + ($5 Cash Optional Skins Game) 9:00 A.M. Shotgun The last Stag event of the season! Call the golf shop or the golf shop to sign up. ABCD 3 Net Best Ball Format. Teams based on Handicap index and will be a Blind Draw by the golf shop. 90% of handicap will be calculated. Lunch is included after golf. Extra prizes: Closest to the pin awards on all par 3 s. 9/1/17 to 9/4/17 PATRIOT GOLF LONG WEEKEND (FRI to MON) Donations will be taken benefiting the Folds of Honor Foundation. If you are unaware of what an extraordinary Foundation this is, please visit foldsofhonor.org. The Foundation provides educational scholarships to the families of killed or disabled American military. These are the men and women who stand guard over our freedom and they will leave no family behind on the field of battle. We raised over $750 last year to benefit the Folds of Honor. Let s get to $1,000! 9/4/17 Labor Day Shotgun Start (MONDAY) ($20 Optional Entry Fee) + ($5 Cash Optional Skins Game) 9:00 A.M. Shotgun Reserve your spot in the shotgun start. Play with your own group. All members will have the ability to get their round in early. The optional $15 game is for a Gross and Net SKINS game along with an individual Bankers handicap game where the golf shop will choose 6 random golf holes to count for your score in both gross and net divisions. Don t forget to donate to the FOLDS OF HONOR FOUNDATION. Stick around for excellent Labor Day specials in Scotty s after golf! *New for Blue Tee Division, White Tee Division, Gold Tee Division, Red Tee Division 9/5/17 Tuesday Night Men s Golf League Playoffs Begin 5:30 P.M. Shotgun Start Playoffs for the top 8 point getters will be September 5 th and 12 th. The Format for the playoffs remains the same. 1 Net Best Ball (Team vs. Team) and 1 Net Best Ball (Player vs. Player). The high handicapped players will face each other, while the low handicapped players will face each other. The top 4 teams will be competing against each other, while the 5-8 seeded teams will be competing against each other. Based on season long point standings, the Championship semifinals will have team 1 vs. team 4 and team 2 vs. team 3. The Consolation semifinals will have team 5 vs. team 8 and team 6 vs. team 7. The Championship matches and Closing Night League Party will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 12 th.

8 9/12/17 Tuesday Night Men s Golf League Championship Match & Closing Party 5:30 P.M. Shotgun Start (for match) 7:30 P.M. Tuesday Night League Party The Championship match will take place at 5:30 P.M with all members and League participants welcome to root on their respected friends. Concluding the match, the Closing Party for ONLY League participants will commence! All players and all teams are invited! This party and get together is included in the price of the Tuesday Night Men s League. 9/16/17 & 9/17/17 Hillview Member-Member Tournament (SATURDAY & SUNDAY) ($60 Team Entry Fee or $30 per player) 9:00 A.M. Shotgun Start both days 2 person teams and the players must have a combined handicap of 10 or greater. Call the golf shop or the golf shop to sign up. Saturday format is front 9 best ball and back 9 Pinehurst Alternate Shot. Sunday format is front 9 shamble and back 9 true alternate shot. Gross Champions and Net Champions will be crowned! Saturday Shootout: Following round 1, teams have the option of signing up for an alternate shootout. Shootout does not determine the actual winner of the Member-Member, but it is a great way to have a few more drinks and cheer on.or root against your fellow members! Lunch provided after golf both days. 9/23/17 Men s Closing Day (SATURDAY) ($25 Entry Fee) + ($5 Cash Optional Skins Game) 9:00 A.M. Shotgun Start Individual Gross and Net Game. Make your own foursome or sign up individually. Call the golf shop or the golf shop to sign up. Lunch provided after golf. Closest to the pin awards on all par 3 s and other proxy games. 10/7/17 Hillview Cup (SATURDAY) ($15 Entry Fee) 9:00 Shotgun Start 27 Hole Event. The top 20 Culligan Cup point getters will battle in a Ryder Cup style format. The top 2 point getters from the season will be captains on their respected teams. Captains will meet and teams will be drafted a few days after the Closing Day event. Entry Fee covers lunch between rounds, team trophy, and bragging rights until next year! First 9 holes: 1 Best Ball (9:00AM) Second 9 holes: Pinehurst Alternate Shot (11:00AM) Third 9 holes: Singles Match Play (After Lunch) 10/21/17 Superintendent s Revenge (SATURDAY) ($10 Entry Fee) Normal Tee Times Phil Slagle, Hillview s Superintendent, and his staff, will create a devious golf course setup with tricks around every corner. Individual Gross and Net Game. Be prepared for a fun and challenging course!
