2 DREW STANTON FOUNDER OF THE HIGH 5IVE FOUNDATION As a student/athlete at Michigan State University I had the pleasure of working with both the Special Olympics and Children s Miracle Network. I learned so much about myself and what helping others was really all about. I was so touched by this experience that I made a promise that if I was ever in a position to really give back to these organizations, I would do so. I had the ability to keep my promise when the Detroit Lions drafted me with the 43rd overall pick in the 2007 draft. I have been fortunate enough to continue my boyhood dream of playing professional football and am now going into my 12th season in the NFL. With High 5ive, I want to make other peoples dreams come true. The mission of the High 5ive Foundation is to improve the quality of life for all people with varying disabilities through raising public awareness and inspiring individuals to achieve personal goals which at one time seemed unattainable. 3 SPARROW CHILDREN S CENTER & CHILDREN S MIRACLE NETWORK CMN s mission is to generate funds and awareness programs for the benefit of children served by its associated hospitals. High 5ive is proud to partner with Sparrow Children s Center, part of the CMN network, to brighten the stay of children and their families at Sparrow. In 2017, we completed the total renovation of the Children s Center Pediatric Playroom. Featuring new toys and a design that makes it a special place for our young patients, the Playroom encourages pediatric patients to stay active and engaged. Our newest project that will begin this year is the renovation of the Sparrow Pediatric ICU Parent Lounge. The renovation will help create a more comforting environment for parents who typically stay at the hospital with their children 24/ Michigan SPECIAL OLYMPICS Special Olympics is a global nonprofit organization targeting the nearly 200 million people around the world who have intellectual disabilities. High 5ive continues to help Special Olympics Michigan athletes achieve their dreams by donating funds to help cover equipment, training and competition costs for their winter programs. This includes major sponsorship of the SOMI Annual Winter Games. We also sponsor two Michigan delegations to help cover equipment, training and competition costs for winter sports programs. In December 2017, High 5ive also answered an emergency request of the Farmington delegation by donating money to cover equipment and training costs for the ski team that was going to be cancelled due to lack of funds.
