7 ABOUT THE IOWA PGA SECTION The Iowa PGA Section is 1 of 41 sections that make up the Professional Golfers Association of America. The national body consists of over 27,000 members and apprentices. The Iowa PGA Section membership includes over 250 golf professionals employed at 123 facilities. The Iowa PGA Section is established as an association of qualified golf professionals dedicated to promoting the game by positively impacting lives through golf. In this effort, the Section shall provide education and playing opportunities, perpetuate and preserve employment opportunities for its members, and bring awareness and support to the Iowa PGA Foundation. In doing so, the Section shall elevate the image of its members, the PGA and the game of golf. The Section is governed by a board of directors comprised of 11 Iowa PGA Section Professionals. The day to day operation of business is conducted by a staff of five employees at the Section office in Riverside, Iowa. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Iowa PGA Foundation The Iowa PGA Foundation utilizes the game of golf to positively impact lives through charitable giving with emphasis on scholarships, junior golf, and injured veterans. The Iowa PGA Foundation received its 501(c)3 status by the Internal Revenue Service in May of The Iowa PGA Foundation was formed as a charitable arm of the Iowa PGA Section which is considered a 501(c)6. The goals of the Foundation involve golf for children, scholarships, and support for injured veterans. Shirts worn by men must have sleeves and a collar. Golfers must wear shoes designed or suitable for golf at all times on the golf course and practice areas. Unacceptable attire includes: denim of any kind, slacks that are frayed or ragged, cut offs, hot pants, short shorts, overalls, muscle shirts, athletic warmup pants or tops, halter tops, tube tops, or other abbreviated dress.
