You can also call the pro shop, Weekday times can be made two weeks in advance. When to Arrive: We suggest you arrive at least fifteen minutes before your tee time. This gives you enough time to check in, pickup any items from the pro shop or the restaurant and be on the tee and ready to tee off at your specific time. Arriving even earlier will also allow you time to warm up on the driving range and putting green. Expected Pace of Play Proctor-Pittsford is a course that can be comfortably played by a foursome walking or riding in a cart in about 4 hours. Slow play affects not only the group you are playing with, but also the entire field of golfers on the course behind you. In order to ensure the enjoyment of all players on the course, we ask that you try maintain this pace. The easiest way for golfers to adhere to this is to simply keep up with the group ahead of them. 3

4 Scorecards This is our current scorecard: You can pick one up in the pro shop before you start, but if you forget, there s no need to come back to the pro shop after you ve started your round. There is a mailbox located on the 2nd tee box that contains both scorecards and pencils. Weekend Lottery System Due to heavy demand, we operate a lottery system, exclusively for members, for weekend tee times. If you would like a morning tee time on the weekends, a request needs to be made the previous Sunday of the desired weekend. s are then sent out on Mondays with your actual time. All remaining unbooked tee times are then released for general booking. Driving Range PPCC has one of the finest driving range facilities in the area, open to members and the general public. 5 Value Cards The pro shop offers some great ways to save money on cart rentals and greens fees, in the form of Value Cards. Purchase any one of these cards in the pro shop or on the website: Pro Shop Accounts As a member of PPCC, a house account, which can be used for any merchandise in the pro shop, has been established in your name. Hole-In-One Insurance A longstanding tradition in golf is that anyone making a hole-in-one is expected to buy a round for all players at the course that day, a potentially expensive endeavor! PPCC has instituted a Hole In One Insurance" pool, which is available in the pro shop at a cost of $5 per participant. How it works: When a participant makes a hole-in-one, money in the pool is used to subsidize all or part of his/ her bar tab. The pool then starts over with participants contributing $5 towards the next hole-inone. Members must participate prior to a hole in one and any money remaining in the pool will carry over for the next hole in one. If you have any questions, or would like to participate, see us in the pro shop. Once again, welcome to Proctor-Pittsford! If you have any questions or need assistance with anything we are here to help. 5

Ladies Night We host a fun nine hole game every Wednesday which starts at 5:00 p.m. This is not a league, and you are not required to play every week. Just sign up when you can, and are interested in playing. We are generally ready to start sign-in for the night s game at 4:15. We encourage everyone to be here by 4:30 to give us all a chance to be at our assigned tees by 5. We usually start play for the year the 2nd week of May. A sign up sheet will be posted on the bulletin board outside the pro shop each week. On most weeks, people sign up as an individual, and we pair you up with other players. If you prefer, you can sign up with 1, 2 or 3 other players and we will fill out the groups if needed. Once a month, we have a make-your-own-foursome team event, where we have a team game, rather than an individual game. We encourage people to form their own teams, but you can still sign up as an individual, or a 2-3 player group and we will do our best to fill out your team. 11

12 Ladies Night-continued: After golf, there is a meal served. Sign up is required in advance using the same sheet you sign up for golf. There is a set meal, as well as an option for a Chef or Caesar salad if you prefer. Meals and costs have yet to be determined for this year, but are usually $10-15 depending on what is served. This includes tax and tip. Following dinner, we generally award prizes for the game. Winnings are monetary amounts that can be used in the pro shop and are kept as credit on your pro shop account. We also have a drawing each week so you could be going home with a little extra cash! Weekend Tournaments With the exception of weekends when the course is hosting an event, there is a tournament that any female member can play. You sign up in advance for the season and play the weekends you choose-there is no requirement to play every week. Play is Friday through Monday. The Sports Committee will post the weekend game, and a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the locker room. You must sign the sheet before playing and be playing with another member who can attest your score. When your round is finished, scores are entered on the sign up sheet and scorecards are placed in the green box labeled for cards. When play is completed, the Sports Committee will determine the weekly winners. As with our Ladies Night, all winnings are given as credit to your pro shop account. Three times during the year, we can participate in Ladies Exchanges which are hosted by area clubs. We host the exchange at PPCC every other year, and are guests of another club during the other year. These are fun nights that are usually very well attended and are a great way to meet and play with women from other cubs. These are sometimes scheduled on Wednesdays, and would take the place of our weekly play. Major Tournaments with Set Dates For the women, the course has three major 18 hole team tournaments Member-Member (June) Member-Guest (August) Invitational Turkey Trot (October) All tournaments are flighted based on handicap. Please see the information sheet for dates, cost, tournament format and other details. 12

The information sheet contains more details for this. Major Tournaments with Floating Dates We sponsor two tournaments for which you play two or three rounds during a specified time period. 18 The PPCC Greens Club The Greens Club was started in 1997 by long time club member Ron Doucette as a means to raise extra money for the club to use on special projects not included in the annual budget. Members and non-members purchased tickets for $40.00 each as part of a 50/50 raffle. Each week at Men's Night a winning ticket was drawn for $50 to the lucky winner and at the end of the year a scramble tournament with a light dinner was held for those who wanted to participate. The final drawing had winning tickets from $50 to $500 depending on the number of tickets sold. The remaining balance was turned over to the club. In its first year $ was turned over to the club and $ each year after that for these special projects. The first purchase was a leaf blower attachment for the mower followed by new water fountains for the ponds on the 10th and 16th holes. In the money was used to install 1280 feet of white vinyl fencing along the 5th hole by Pratico Landscaping and Fence that still stands there today. In 2003 the money helped to build the driving range down at the foot of the 10th hole. The Greens Club has changed slightly over the last several years. A committee now decides where to spend the money in conjunction with the course superintendent, and the board of directors. Tickets can now be purchased for $40 each, or 3 for $100 through an annual mailing, but they are also available at the Pro-Shop and online line via the club s website. There are 20 weekly drawings starting in May and running into September. The first ticket drawn each month is worth $100, while the others remain at $50 each. We still have a scramble tournament and light dinner at the end of the year where the final drawing will award prizes ranging from $100 to $500 depending on the number of tickets sold. Recent ticket sales have been over 350 per year, bringing in about $12,000 in sales allowing about $6000 per year to be returned to the club for special projects and course enhancements. Recently upgraded floor boxes, ball washers and towels, thanks to Greens Club participation 18

19 The Greens Club-continued: In the 21 years of the Greens Club over $101, has been returned to the club. Most recently, money was used to help renovate the bar and kitchen but many other projects have taken place including: Green divot mix for tees and fairways New green awnings above the Men's and Ladies locker rooms Flower box upgrades to new marble ones with mulching done throughout the course and around the clubhouse New hazard stakes, course signs, paint and supplies for the benches and post along with the parking lot. The recent purchase of 60 long handled bunker rakes for the soft sand now in the bunkers New embroidered tee flags and practice green flags New netting on the first tee box Driving range sign upgrades New ball washers, tee towels and divot mix boxes, club cleaners and golf shoe cleaners The purchase of plastic tees to be used by golfers to cut down on broken tees, available in the pro shop, free of charge Renovation of the scoreboard and caddy shack along with adding new signage ( Redfield's Bar & Grill) These are just a few enhancements that have been made over the last few years The committee now consists of 8 members and here are some of the projects we are working on for the future: Replacing the marble tee markers with new ones, engraved with the PPCC logo. Making new bird houses, fixing and staining posts Building a new bag drop and divot mix cup holder Purchasing new club stands to be used at the range and practice area Replacing OB stakes with new vinyl wrapped ones We are always looking for new projects and suggestions from the membership, and all of these projects are done by volunteer members who give up their free time to make the course better. For any more information about the Greens Club please read the monthly newsletter put out by the club, or ask one of the current committee members. They are listed in the Greens Club section of the monthly newsletter. Please consider purchasing and participating in this great PPCC tradition. We look forward to meeting you and for your support! greensclub@proctor-pittsford.com 19
