Think of it as little league baseball for golfers! The structured league will provide a popular, less stressful scramble format as opposed to stroke-play competition. This is a great way to keep kids involved in the game. Teams play on Thursday nights at 5:30 p.m. at Wilmette Golf Club, with block practices on the first three Saturdays of May and June at noon or 1 p.m. The goal is for a 10-week season with a twoweek cushion built in for rain-outs. 5 GOLF CLASSES JUNIOR GOLF ACADEMY Young golfers meet on the range every day, where they learn the basics of ball striking, chipping and putting. Every golfer will understand how, and what, to practice on their own. Players must have their own golf clubs and be ready to have fun! Academy members can play for free after 5 p.m. with a paid adult greens fee. They will learn how to practice to lower scores, be challenged on the golf course every day, have daily team and individual competitions, and keep track of their scoring average. Kids will play 18 holes on Tuesday and Thursday and nine holes on Wednesday (with the option to play 18). For serious golfers only. A minimum of 72 (max 120) paid players are required for a shotgun outing. After 9/15, shotgun outings are available Monday-Friday with either a 12:30 p.m. or a 1 p.m. start. Smaller tee-timed outings up to 48 players are available daily after Noon. A guaranteed number of golfers must be confirmed at least seven days in advance. Contact the General Manager to enquire about Outings outside the parameters of these policies.
