The lowest net score that day will be crowned with the Golf Association Player of The Year Award. If the top point earner cannot play the day of the New Era Cup, then another player will be added for that team, but they will not be playing for Player of The Year Award. Points are earned based upon participation and final placement for each event. Please check the bottom of each Event Page for the to be earned for that event. Limited Members Participating in Golf Assoc. Events Limited Members are eligible to compete in events with a paid Green Fee at Registration. Please look for the Limited Member Option when signing up for events. If you don t want to pay this fee, then you must become an Unlimited Member. Open to Men & Women starting in 2019 New for 2019 Starting this year, both Men & Women are eligible to compete in the Golf Association Events. Men, Seniors 60+, and Women will play different tees, all for the same purse (some events may play the same set of tees for all players). Handicaps will be adjusted accordingly. 3

4 Handicap Reminders All Members are expected to post their score following their round of golf. This can be done at the handicap computer in the golf shops or online at New for 2019 To make sure that all members are posting scores accurately and up to date, golfers who are playing in the Golf Association Events will be subject to the 80% Rule. Essentially you must post at least 80% of the number of rounds that we have you checked in for. If your GHIN scores do not meet this requirement, then your Handicap for an event will be subject to adjustments by the Golf Association Committee. Active Season for Posting Scores in Ohio: March 15 th to November 30 th Speak with the golf shop staff at your home course about activating your GHIN Handicap. If you are an Unlimited Member, the GHIN Handicap Fee is included in your membership. If you are a Limited Member, you will need to pay $45 for the GHIN Handicap Fee for the season. Tournament Scores will be posted by the member (Tournament Director will let you know which events will be eligible for Scores to post). Not all Golf Association Events will have scores eligible to post as a Tournament Score. This year the Tournament Director, Golf Staff and Handicap Committee will be randomly reviewing daily score posting. We will compare the tee sheet with scores posted for that day. If you have any questions or concerns regarding handicaps, please Ryan Jacocks, Ryan@NewEraGolf.com Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) ESC was put in place by the USGA to limit the Highest Score a player may post for any hole. It varies by handicap. The following chart outlines the MAXIMUM POSTABLE SCORE for any hole for each handicap range. Your Current Handicap Max Score On Any Hole 9 or less or more Double Bogey

6 Golf Association Opening Day Event 2-Player Scramble Member Skills Challenge & Match Play Brackets Revealed Saturday, April 13 th Royal American Links Entry Fee $45 pp for Event Includes: Lunch and Prizes - Entry into the Opening Day Event includes the Member Skills Challenge Cost for Member Skills Challenge Only $10 pp *Please note, that any Member, Limited or Unlimited can participate in the Member Skills Challenge* Schedule 11:00am 1:00pm Member Skills Challenge 1:30pm Shotgun Start 6:00pm 6:30pm 2-Player Scramble Awards & Keg of Beer Match Play Brackets Revealed - 2-Player Scramble, Pick Your Partner, please state your partners name at sign up - Individuals will be paired up to create a 2-Player Team - $10 Optional Gross Team Skins Game - Tees: Main Black, Seniors (60+) Green, Women Silver (tees are subject to change) - 2 Divisions, decided on scores after the round of Gross & Net, a team can t win both divisions, Gross division is first choice. 7 Golf Association Match Play (Season Long) Individual Play Times Matches may Begin on Monday April 15 th Round Deadlines are TBD and based on number of participants - Players are responsible to set the date and time of each match. If a match has not been played within the allotted time, a coin toss will determine the match winner. Entry Fee $25 per player / per division - Match Play. Handicaps will be played using both players handicaps. Each player gets dots on the scorecard where their course handicap should be. - You may play in more than one Division Brackets & Seeding - There will be a Scratch Division, Main Handicap Division, and Senior Handicap Division (60+) - Tees for Divisions: Scratch Same Tees for all players, Main 3 sets of tees (men, senior, women play their respective tees), Senior 2 sets of tees (senior and women). Exact tees will be specified when the match play bracket is available. - Default courses will be established. If the players cannot agree on another course to play, then they must play the default course and tees stated for that round. - Friday, April 12 th online at First Place: Second Place: +75 points Semi-Finalists: +50 points Participation: 200 points 7

8 Golf Association Modified 4-Player Scramble (Two, 2-Player Scramble) Sunday, May 19 th Clover Valley Golf Club Entry Fee $40 pp for Event Includes: Lunch and prizes Schedule 1:00pm Registration 2:00pm Shotgun Start 6:30pm 8 2-Player Scramble Awards - Modified 4-Player Scramble. Sign up as an Individual. - All players will hit their tee shot, like a normal scramble. From there, the team will take the best two tee shots and pair off into 2-player teams (must keep the same 2-player teams until that hole is completed). If your shot is selected off the tee, then you must play from that point and have another teammate join your 2-player team scramble that hole. Each team will finish the hole in a scramble format. The team will have 2 scores per hole. It is up to the 4-Player team as to what the 2-Player teams are each hole, and the teams can change each hole if they desire. - $20 Optional Team Gross Skins: Lowest combined total per hole - 2 Divisions, decided on scores after the round of Gross & Net, a team can t win both divisions, Gross Division will be the first choice. - Tees: Main Blue, Senior White, Women Red (tees are subject to change) Handicaps - Teams will be handicapped with taking the Total Team Handicap and dividing it by 4 (the number of players in the group). - Sunday, May 12 th Online at First Place: Second Place: +75 points Third Place: +50 points Participation: 150 points

9 Golf Association Member / Guest 2-Player Team Entry Fee Includes: Saturday, June 8 th New Albany Links $170 per team (includes Member & Guest) Lunch, Dinner, Prizes, Tee Gift and Guest Green Fees Schedule 12:30pm Registration & Lunch 2:00pm Shotgun Start 7:00pm Member / Guest Event Dinner & Awards - 2-Player Teams with the Member & Guest - Net Better Ball with Flights, flights are determined by the number of groups signed up for the event - Overall champion will be crowned Playoff will be Hole 18 played alternate shot between the 2 player teams. Play over and over again until a winner is crowned. If the course is not available for play, then a scorecard playoff will decide the overall champion by going from hole 18 and back until a lower score wins (handicapped). - $5 Optional Gross Skins Game per player - Tees: Main Blue, Senior White, Women Red (tees are subject to change) Handicaps - Both the Member & Guest must have acceptable registered handicap index to participate, no exceptions. - Sunday, June 2 nd Online at Overall Champion: First Place (per flight): Second Place (per flight): +75 points Third Place (per flight): +50 points Participation: 250 points 9
