2 Rod Myers, Director of Golf The head men s golf coach at Duke University is Rod Myers, one of the nation s most respected names in golf. Under his guidance, the Blue Devils have developed into contenders both in the Atlantic Coast Conference and in the NCAA. In 2005, Myers guided Duke to the ACC Championship and the program s highest NCAA Tournament finish since He was awarded both ACC Coach of the Year and Golfweek National Coach of the Year honors after directing the most successful season in Blue Devil history. A PGA Master Professional, Myers is a former chairman of the NCAA Golf Committee and past president of the Golf Coaches Association of America. He is also a member of the PGA Rules Committee. His instructional expertise was evident in a series of internationally-televised golf tips and lessons called How To Play Your Best Golf. In May of 1986, Myers was inducted into the GCAA Hall of Fame. He is also a member of the Springfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame and the Ohio Wesleyan Sports Hall of Fame.

The remainder of the fee, $670.00, is due by May 1. Applications sent after May 1st, require full payments. Once a student is accepted, $ of the total payment is non-refundable for any reason. 5 Experienced Success The Duke Golf School has experienced tremendous success over the past thirty-three years. We attribute this to several factors: 1) We have an outstanding staff of coaches which is the most qualified and the finest of any golf school. 2) Collegiate golfers serve as counselors, reducing the student-teacher ratio to 4:1. 3) The facilities of Duke University are excellent and are highlighted by the Robert Trent Jones golf course. Totally renovated in 1993 by Rees Jones. The practice facility renovation has just been completed and is state of the art. It contains a large pitching green with bunkers, a large putting green and a new tee area with excellent target greens. Without question, it is an intercollegiate facility second to none. Duke was the site of the 2001 NCAA Championship. 4) Video tape instant replay aids in swing analysis.

6 School Schedule Students are grouped by age and skill. Therefore, each small group of 8 or 9 is as homogenous as possible and is coached by the same instructor throughout the week. This plan enables us to work with beginners as well as advanced players. 7 School Information TRANSPORTATION Transportation will be provided to and from the Raleigh-Durham International Airport. A Duke Golf School representative will meet your son at the baggage claim area and accompany him to the Golf School. Further information will be included in your letter of acceptance to Golf School. Do not make airline reservations until student s application has been accepted. EARLY ARRIVALS & LATE DEPARTURES The Duke Golf School does not have the facilities or personnel to accommodate students who arrive the day before or who leave the day after their session. CHECK IN Registration will be at the dormitory between 10:00am and 1:00pm on Saturday, June 23th and Saturday, June 30. All health forms are due at registration.

8 School Information CHECK-OUT All students must be out of the dorms by 3:00pm Thursday, June 28th or Thursday, July 5th. Students should be picked up at the dorm. Airline departures should be scheduled after 3:00pm. KEYS A $75.00 room key, dorm entry card, and damage deposit is required by Duke University and is due with your application. The deposit will be returned at check-out after the key and card are returned and dorms have been checked for damages. Please send this deposit as a separate check. SCHOOL BANK All students are advised to keep their spending money in the school bank. The bank will be open at least two times daily, so that students will have frequent access to their money.

9 School Information AIRLINE TICKETS Students traveling by air are required to turn in their airline tickets at registration for safe keeping. Tickets will be returned prior to departure. Remember, your child needs a picture ID. VIDEO MAIL A custom made CD is provided to each student. It includes 80 minutes of instruction by Golf School Staff and your son s swing in regular speed and slow motion, along with a voice over swing evaluation by their coach.
