1 Welcome to, COURSE INFORMATION HILTON PUCKRUP HALL HOTEL & GOLF CLUB Built in 1992 the 6219 yard, par 70 championship golf course meanders through 140 acres of glorious Gloucestershire countryside and is truly a golfer s paradise. Designed by the Golf Partnership the course has been built in the original parkland of the Hall and many of its natural hazards are brought into play, with the quality of the course such that it has been host to the West Region PGA Championship and regional county events. Each of the 18 holes have been individually created with features including doglegs, well placed bunkers and lakes offering the golfer a challenging but fair test of golf, with the USGA specification greens a delight to play on. Fine tune your golfing skills before you play by utilising either our long or short game practice facilities whilst The Puckrup Hall Golf Academy offers an extensive range of tuition packages for players of all abilities if you wish to gain the upper hand on the competition. The clubhouse boasts plush changing, showering and locker facilities, with the Oaks Bar providing the ideal setting for post-round refreshments or enjoy our Terrace Bar and its menu available for either casual or formal dining. Many thanks PHGC Committee GOLF LIABILITY INSURANCE Many of you members will have seen adverts in the golfing press for specialist golf insurance. They alert you to the possibility of being held liable for significant damages resulting from injury to fellow golfers caused by wayward shots. In one case in Scotland, damages of 397,000 were awarded against a golfer even though he had shouted fore. You may think that this could never happen to you. However, during the past season the club has experienced several incidents of wayward shots striking other players. Fortunately, these have not resulted in serious injury. For your peace of mind why not take advantage of the Members Insurance Scheme that YOUR COMMITTEE has put in place for the coming season. The scheme has been organised by the club, not Hilton Hotels and is underwritten by Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Plc, a well-known insurance company. For an annual premium of only 5.00 you will be covered for:- 1. Personal Liability cover of up to 5 million, plus costs and expenses, if you are found legally liable for causing accidental bodily injury to a third party or accidental damage to their property whilst playing at Puckrup Hall or temporarily at any other golf club. 2. Liability cover of up to 10,000 to make good if you cause accidental damage to third party property at Puckrup Hall, irrespective of legal liability. 3. Personal accident cover of 15,000 if you suffer major injury whilst playing golf at Puckrup Hall 4. Hole in One benefit of 75 if you score a Hole in One in a qualifying medal or stableford competition at Puckrup Hall. 6 Conditions of Play Standard of Golf Whilst we do not require handicap certificates, we do request that all players are of a competent ability and respect other golfer s abilities and have a sound knowledge of common golfing rules and etiquette. Clubs The sharing of clubs is not allowed. Tee Times You are expected to arrive on the tee 10 minutes prior to your tee time. Pace of Play Guidelines Our course carries pace of play guidelines, we anticipate a flight of 3 to 4 players should not take longer than FOUR AND A QUARTER HOURS. Course Marshals will monitor the pace of play and ensure guidelines are adhered to through various measures of enforcement. Competition Formats During busy periods only certain formats of play will be allowed in order to aid the pace of play, please bear this in mind when arranging competitions, to discuss acceptable formats or clarification please contact the Golf Reception. Pairing Up Policy To ensure that there is a consistent speed of play, at busy times The Golf Club reserves the right to pair up golfers as required to assist with the management of these guidelines. Dress Code Whilst Puckrup Hall is a forward thinking club and understands the changing face of fashion we are however fully aware of the standards both on and off the course that have made this a much respected game amongst other sports. Should a member of your group be inappropriately dressed, we will refuse them access to the golf course. The following is considered appropriate attire for the Golf Course: Collared or turtle neck shirts with long/short sleeves. Full length trousers. Tailored shorts with sports socks. Ladies may wear sleeveless shirts and mid length trousers. Golf shoes must be worn Buggies Buggies may only be driven by those over the age of 18 years. Buggies MUST be kept to the paths where possible at all times and kept a 15 yard radius away from tees and greens., The Course Puckrup Hall makes every effort to ensure that you enjoy your experience of our course, all golfers are requested to repair pitch marks, replace divots and rake bunkers. The Golf Club reserves the right to remove golfers from the course who are not deemed to be of a competent ability or who fail to abide by the conditions of play detailed above. PLEASE NOTE: Under no circumstances will the wearing of denim jeans with studs/rivets in any colour or fabric be permitted on the Course. Training Shoes are prohibited on the Course. Hats/Visors may not be worn in the Clubhouse. T-Shirts and sweatshirts with prominent logos are prohibited. Shorts or trousers with large patch pockets are not permitted on the Course. GENTLEMEN Please see the graphic below for acceptable/not acceptable form of casual dress for use on the Course and in the Clubhouse. All shirts must have a collar and must not be worn outside trousers or shorts. LADIES Please see the graphic below for acceptable/not acceptable form of casual dress for use on the Course and in the Clubhouse with the following exceptions. Shirts may be worn short sleeved or sleeveless but must have a collar. Ladies golf shirts that have been designed/tailored to wear outside trousers/shorts/skirts etc may be worn. All other shirts must be tucked in. Tailored shorts designed for golf, skorts, skirts and cut-offs are all acceptable forms of dress for Ladies. ACCEPTABLE NOT ACCEPTABLE Headgear must be worn correctly not back to front Shirts Men s shirts must have collars and sleeves and should be worn inside trousers or shorts. Shorts Tailored shorts. Socks Socks must be worn and can be ankle length. Shoes Soft Spikes, moulded or pimple-based shoes must be worn Shirts No T-shirts; football, rugby, or similar, and must not be worn outside shorts or trousers Shorts No beach, cargo or denim shorts. Socks No trousers tucked into socks. Shoes No street, canvas, or trainers.
