2 This is what you can look forward to in April» Tuesday 17 April 2017: We assemble mid-morning at Johannesburg s OR Tambo International Airport for check-in, before boarding for our 13:40 departure on Emirates Airlines. Should you wish to fly from Cape Town or Durban (or extend your holiday), please chat to us at the time of booking so that we can make the necessary arrangements with the airline. Wednesday 18 April 2017: After a short stop in Dubai, we board our onward flight to Bangkok landing at the impressive Suvarnabhumi International Airport shortly after noon. Once through immigration, we load our airconditioned vans and head to our first stop of the tour Woodlands Hotel & Resort in Pattaya. We ve stayed at the Woodlands for 17 years now, and love returning there year after year. After checking in and going for a swim in the great pool with swim up bar, we ll take a short stroll around Pattaya to get you orientated and settled in quickly. From there, it s time to explore and experience the Thai food and culture and prepare for the big festival. Thursday 19 April 2017: Today is SONGKRAN in Pattaya... the Thai New Year and water festival which celebrates the end of the New Year festivities. Some streets are closed today, many businesses shut down and everyone in town joins in a day of water-filled open-air revelry... with live performances all along the beachfront, partying in the streets and festivities everywhere blended with the gentle-nature of the Thai people. 3 With temperatures in the mid-30s, the water festivities become a day-long experience going late into the night! Wear lots of sunblock, arm yourself with a water gun, leave the electronics in a safe, dry place and enjoy a day you will not soon forget! Friday 20 April 2017: Today we play Siam Country Club s Old Course, Thai home of the LPGA tour and one of the most famous and best established courses in Thailand. Renovated 10 years about by Lee Schmidy & Brian Curley, this is a true championship course that has hosted several major tournaments over the years and is impeccably maintained and kept in excellent playing condition year round. Set in the low hills outside Pattaya, Siam s Old Course features a lot of lakes and creeks along with many mature shrubs and fruit trees and the greens are fast and undulating, so chat to your caddy for some local knowledge. After golf, you re free to explore town, enjoy a massage, or catch an evening show be it in Walking Street or the world-famous Tiffany s Show (we ll arrange a group booking for those interested in going). 4 Saturday 21 April 2017: Today is completely at leisure to explore and experience Pattaya. For those keen to play an extra round, we ll make sure a great course is available Laem Chabang is a firm favourite, while Pattana is another one of our top picks in the region that is always enjoyed. The most popular non-golf activity among our groups to Pattaya is a full day cruise on the luxury catamarans, visiting three islands allowing you to go fishing, snorkeling, swimming, sun tanning and partying the day away, enjoying a great buffet lunch while underway between islands. Sunday 22 April 2017: After breakfast we say farewell to the Woodlands Hotel & Resort, and head to the ferry pier where we climb onboard the new ferry service to dash across the bay to Hua Hin previously home of the Thai Royal Family, now home of the best golf in Thailand. After settling into the Ibis Hotel in Hua Hin, situated within 5min walk of the great beach as well as popular markets and restaurants, we head out for a short walk to familiarise ourselves with the area stopping off at the awesome Cicada Market for a stroll through the countless stalls, enjoy the live entertainment and grab a bite to eat. 5 Monday 23 April 2017: Rated the second best course in Thailand (2017 Asia Golf Awards) and regularly rated as one of the best courses in Asia-Pacific (rated number 9 in 2017) and regarded as The best golf club experience in Asia-Pacific (2017), Banyan Golf Club is our first stop in Hua Hin. Not only do they win major awards, but a private group that played in October said it could be the best experience they ve ever had! After golf, why not head to the Hilton for a sunset cocktail at the rooftop bar before exploring one of the many bars and restaurants offering a variety of dining options. Sunrises and sunsets in Hua Hin are very often spectacular, so be sure to keep your cameras & phones at the ready Tuesday 24 April 2017: Today is completely at leisure, but we will assist with planning a day suited to your desires. One option is to take a full day outing out of town to the border of Myanmar to visit the Death Railway and the infamous Bridge Over the River Kwai. With plenty of options to stop and explore along the way as well as in the area, you re sure to spend the day engrossed in nature, history and culture. GENERAL INFORMATION AND TOUR CONDITIONS: Price: The price of the tour is subject to Standard Terms and Conditions, exchange rates and airfares and taxes at time of final payment. The price of the package is based on a minimum of 30 passengers and a reduction in this number may lead to a price adjustment for the tour package. Deposit and Payment: A deposit of R4 000,00 PER PERSON is payable on booking and is not refundable unless in the case of the cancellation of the tour by the tour operators. You are therefore encouraged to take out travel insurance which includes a cancellation clause. A final account will be ed to you 8 weeks prior to departure, or on a date shortly thereafter, and is payable within 96 hours (4 days) of presentation, No cancellations can be accepted after 8 weeks (56 days) prior to departure and the full relevant package price for the tour is payable if cancellations are received after this date. If the booking is made 8 weeks or less before said departure date, the full contract price is to be paid at the time of booking and may be subject to late ticket issue fees from the airline. A late payment fee of R250,00 pp will be charged on all accounts not settled by the stipulated date. Itinerary: The itinerary details are subject to airline timetable changes, as well as weather and technical influences. Handicaps: All golfers must be able to provide proof of handicap upon request at the courses while on tour. Passport, Visas & Health requirements: We provide basic advice to South African passport holders regarding visa requirements. Clients travelling on a passport of a different nationality should check with their embassy or consulate and must make sure they have all the necessary valid travel and health documents to comply with the requirements of the country they are visiting or travelling through. Liabilities: The Golf Travel Company and/or their agents, in making arrangements for air and land services, act as agents only and on condition that they shall not be liable for any injury, death, damage, loss, accidental delay or irregularity that may be occasioned by any defect in any vehicle or form of conveyance or mishap at any place of accommodation, or for any reason whatsoever. Insurance: Passengers are advised to have travel insurance for injury, death, accident and medical expenses, enforced pre-tour cancellation and loss of luggage. Changes to bookings: In the event of a change being made to your flight arrangements, including post-tour extensions and breakaways, an additional fee will be charged by the operating airline. Please consult our office for this additional charge which varies by airline and destination. Cancellations and Refunds: No refund can be made for visits, sightseeing, meals, transfers, accommodation, golf or other services included in the tour price which were not utilized. Should the client wish to cancel for whatever reason, The Golf Travel Company must be advised in writing under the signature of the customer. No air tickets will be issued until full and final payment is received and the airline s late ticket issue levy will apply in the event of late payment. Medical Certificate: A doctor s certificate confirming good health will be required for passengers 65 years and older. Golf cars: The Golf Travel Company will book golf cars when requested to do so by clients but cannot accept responsibility for availability on the day.
