The B Team finished in 7th position in the B Division on 652 and the C Team finished 8th position in the B Division on Gauteng Junior Championships: Randpark Golf Club, 8 th June 2008 Hermine Greyling entered. Nomads S A Girls 18 and under Championships: Orkney Golf Club, 29 th to1st July 2007 Boland sent 15 junior girls to participate, accompanied by Moira Markgraaff and Anita Kruger. Our girls played very well and received many compliments, on their appearance, behavior and team spirit. A Division Handicaps 0 9 Six Boland girls in this division with a field total of 41. The Championship was won by Bertine Strauss (NW) on 214 gross Chloe Garner 6 th on 228 gross Hermine Greyling placed 7 th on 230 B Division Handicaps No Boland girls in this division C Division Handicaps Stableford Six Boland girls in this division with a field total of 39. Triangular Match & Southern Cape Championships: Club, 29 th to 31 st August 2008 Mosselbay Golf

3 Boland was invited to play in a triangular match between Southern Cape and Women s Golf Western Province on Friday before the Championships. The players did very well in the triangular compare to previous years. BLG lost to Southern Cape and WP BLG did not send the A team players to participate but rather the juniors and inexperienced players. Championships: The Championships was rained out Eleanor s Day: Wellington Golf Club, 4 th September 2008 Sponsored by Audrey Purcell A field of 55 players participated, resulting in a very successful day. Gus & Raymond Ackerman & U/21 Championships, Clovelly Golf Club, 18 th to 19 th October 2008 Several Boland players participated in the Gus & Raymond Ackerman Championships: 6 Players entered in the Gus Ackerman In the Raymond Ackerman handicaps, Martine Strasheim (Paarl) came 1 st with Paula Bester (Paarl) 4th. In the Pevsner Cup Bianca Theron (Kuils River) came 1st. 12 Players from the senior and junior squads played in a 18 hole single stableford 8 Players not in the squad played 9 holes single stableford 12 Girls Love Golf players from Paarl played 7 holes single stableford scramble 26 beginners from surrounding schools took part in putting and chipping games BOLAND LADIES GOLF LEAGUE: Country Trophy: Paarl 6 points Stellenbosch 3 points Strand 3 points Sandhills Cup: The league was split into two sections namely Red and Blue. Attendance of Committee members were as follows: Moira Markgraaff Bev Pienaar Charmaine Fagyas Rene Markgraaff Anita Kruger Marianne Friggens Winna Hopley Susan Nel Two Bi-Annual meetings, in February at Stellenbosch and in August at Strand, were held during the year and were very well supported by the clubs. The Executive would like to make special mention of the following: Sincere thanks to our sponsors and donors for their generous support during this past year. Thank you to Metcalf Fick for auditing our accounts and Ken Lester for assisting the Treasurer. Thank you to Stellenbosch Golf Club for the use of their facilities for all our Executive meetings, and the A.G.M. Thank you to all the Clubs who hosted various Boland fixtures, including the management, staff and Lady Captains, for their assistance. Our gratitude to Greta Badenhorst of the Cape Argus for coverage of Boland Ladies Golf tournaments. A special word of thanks to all the Boland Clubs for your wonderful support during the year. Various members of the Executive have been privileged to have been invited as guests to many of the Club Open Days. We really appreciate this very much. Thank you once again has been a very busy and successful year for Boland Ladies Golf. Congratulations to all our players who did well in the various tournaments throughout the year. We thank Moira Markgraaff for her dedication and wonderful service to Boland Ladies Golf for the past nine years. We thank the retiring Executive members, Anita Kruger, Rene Markgraaff- Beyers, Lizel Jardim and Susan Nel for all the wonderful service to Boland Ladies Golf.
