5 Captains Report The weather played along and the game at Schoemanpark on 14 August was well supported and enjoyed by all. We had 56 players in the field with 4 visitors. Many thanks to members for inviting your guests. Special thanks to the Schoemanpark Staff, Lynnette, Ian and Estelle are always willing to help and to make our games enjoyable and special. The course was not at its best as greens was hollowtined, but it was the same for all. Definitely did not help my game at all!! First hole in one since I became a Nomad. Well done Ike Heyns, you showed that the best way to putt on hollowtined greens, is not to at all. Well played and you held it together until the end and made a smashing 38 point and was crowned champ of the day. Well done!! Prize Giving is getting better and better. Many thanks to the whole committee for your efforts, one can see the difference. Scores were reasonable and the day s average was not to shabby 28.7 for the day. An initiative was implemented at our last game where Nomads can sponsor Clothes and Food to Ons Kinderhuis. This will be our community project for the rest of the year and we would like to make a difference every month in the lives of the children. Please support this initiative and if you feel you would like to get involved in another way, feel free to contact Gert or myself for details. 6 Match Secretary s Report Stats for 14 th Schoeman Park GC Playing field; 56 Nomads: 51 Visitors: 4 Juniors 1 Days Average Score: 28.7 Handicapping (Samson system) Cut : 8 No Change: 25 Gained : 18 The weather was much kinder to us this Sunday this can be seen from the number of Nomads that turned out to play!! Although the Greens were not as good as they normally are the average score 28.7 was the same as last month. Thanks to Main Starter, Past Captain Riaan Ahrens and Ferdi Wesso & Ruan du Plessis on the Tees. It definitely was definitely Ike Heyns Day Congratulations on a magnificient HOLE IN ONE! The Gary Player is well under way!! Only a few more pairs still have to play, and these will be completed by the 31 st For the Winners -, Round 2 will startin Sptember,and for the First Round Losers, the first Round of the Plate Plate. The next Nomads Monthly Game is on Sunday 4 th GC, tee-off from 7.30am Please take note that the September Monthly Game, had to be moved from the 11 th to the 4 th due to Golforama Sishen and also the Botswana Nationals in Gaberone, on the weekend of the 11 th of September!
