Enter the name of the player. 2. Enter the tournament. 3. Enter the measurement units used to record shot lengths. Note that if using Yards / Feet, enter approach lengths in yards and putts lengths in feet. 4. Enter the tee time. 5. Enter the start hole. Page 1 of 7

2 Round Entry For each shot record four key bits of information. 1. Enter the club used for the shot (using the relevant symbol from the Club Key below). This example records a Driver (1 Wood). 3 2. Circle the letter which best describes the type of shot played. Circle N for ALL shots where you did NOT attempt to hit the green. Circle A for shots where you attempted to hit the green with an approach shot. Circle C for shots where you attempted to hit the green with a chip shot. Circle L for shots where you attempted to hit the green with a lob / flop shot. Circle B for shots where you attempted to hit the green with a greenside bunker shot. Page 3 of 7

4 3. Colour the directional arrow which best shows where the ball finished in relation to the target and then, using the correct symbol from the End Lie Key below, record the end lie for the shot. So, 3.1. If you did not attempt to hit the green (i.e. you circled Shot Type N above), colour the directional arrow which best shows where your ball finished in relation to the fairway. If you hit the fairway, colour the centre circle If you did attempt to hit the green but the ball did not finish on the green, colour the directional arrow which best shows the miss If you did attempt to hit the green and the ball finished on the green, colour the directional arrow which best shows where the ball finished in relation to the pin / hole. Note that it is the combination of data that determines the exact finishing position of the ball. And remember to use the direction diagram as though you are always playing upwards from the bottom of the page. This example records the ball finishing to the left in the semi rough. This example records the ball finishing on the green short of the pin / hole. Enter them as normal chip shots being played with a certain club (even if it is a putter). AOL Page 4 of 7

5 4. Use the Putt Length boxes for recording all shots on the putting surface of the hole you are playing. Enter the approximate length of each putt in your selected measurement unit of feet or metres (please note your judgment of putt lengths becomes more important the closer you are to the hole). This example records two putts on a hole. The first was 35 feet in length and the second was 2 feet in length. We presume the second putt was holed because there is no third putt recorded. 6 Special Notes Enter penalty shots and drops as shown here. This example records a Penalty Shot. This example records a Penalty Drop which was dropped in the Semi Rough. If you wish to record your driving distance and / or the length of your approach shots, use the space provided below A C L B. This example records a 5 Iron approach shot which was 180 yards from the green. Whilst filling out the Stat Sheet, it is a good idea to record the hole pars and gross scores in the areas provided so that if mistakes are made, checks can be carried out. Note that free drops are not recorded on the Stat Sheet. As an example, a free drop onto the green would record the end lie of the previous shot as a hit green because the green would be from where the next shot is to be played. Page 6 of 7

7 Examples This example records a Driver (1 Wood) shot where there was no attempt to hit the green. The ball finished on the fairway. This example records a 5 Iron approach shot which was 180 yards from the green. An attempt was made to hit the green and the ball finished left in the trees. This example records a Sand Wedge bunker shot where an attempt was made to hit the green. The ball finished on the green past the pin / hole. This example records a 9 Iron chip shot where an attempt was made to hit the green. The ball finished in the hole. Page 7 of 7
