If you have not participated in golf events before, I challenge you to start with our Friday, Nine Dine and Wine, our Glow Ball Event for couples!

4 From Bob Stephens, PGA Golf Director & Golf Pro Hard to believe the end of the summer is fast approaching. We have had wonderful golf events this past summer with great participation. In addition, 2017 showed continued excitement and activity in our Junior Golf Program. We had over 100 participants in our camps and clinics along with hosting a PGA junior League for the fourth year. If you have not participated in golf events before, I challenge you to start with our Friday, Nine Dine and Wine, our Glow Ball Event for couples! Bob 2017 Sycamore Cup The 10 th annual Men s Sycamore Cup is scheduled for Saturday & Sunday October 14 th & 15 th. We are planning a draft party on Wednesday October 11 th. Our goal is to have dinner and drinks followed by the team draft. In addition, we will be ordering team hats for the players. There will be an entry fee to cover hats and dinner with the amount TBA. This is an exciting year- end Ryder Cup format event. The players earn a spot in the field based on the year- long player of year point race. The current POY list is posted in the locker room with the top 24 eligible to play in the cup. The final event to earn points will be the Ortman Cup on September 30 th. Following the Ortman Cup we will post and begin to notify players that they have made the field. We will go down further in the POY list as needed to fill the field. Players must commit to play both days in order to be eligible. The top two POY point earners will be team captains and will draw the teams on October 11 th. As we go through September and you are high on the POY list, please notify the golf shop if you are able or not able to play in the cup this year! 6 Tennis Transition Plan From Dave Clancy Dear Sycamore Creek Members and in particular our tennis families, In conjunction with the Board s overall review of the club s tennis operations, the club s tennis pro Scott Foreman has recently made the decision to move indoor lessons and clinics from the bubble covering one court at SCCC to the South Regency Tennis Center (SR). This change is effective September 1, 2017 and will run through April 30, Scott has committed to SCCC to return in May to provide summer lessons and clinics at SCCC. There were many factors that contributed to Scott making this decision, but with some recent turnover at SR an opportunity arose to service non- summer tennis at their facility. SCCC members can continue to take lessons/clinics from Scott at SR from September through April without paying any additional SR court fees or joining SR. No fall or winter tennis activities have been billed by SCCC to members, so no billing fall/winter adjustments will be needed. Tennis lesson and clinic fees with Scott from September 1, 2017 on will now be transacted directly with Scott and will not be billed for or accounted for by SCCC. SCCC remains committed to servicing our members who play tennis and we have full intentions of providing on- site summer (May through August) lessons and clinics at SCCC as we have always had. Specifically, we will provide all summer junior tennis clinics in coordination with our junior swim team and junior golf programs in SCCC is strongly committed to family participation, which includes these junior programs. SCCC will be evaluating options for the tennis dome, but we do not anticipate maintaining the dome during this winter season and will likely be exploring some kind of sale. The outdoor tennis courts remain open for member play and will be maintained throughout the non- summer months. We view this change as a solution that improves the tennis offerings for SCCC members while eliminating unprofitable dome operations. We look forward to a continuing relationship with Scott Foreman and his return to our courts in May. Sincerely, Dave Clancy

Bob Stephens, SCCC Golf Pro, recently qualified for the 2017 Senior PGA Professional Championship, which will be, contested at the end of September at Desert Mountain CC, in my beloved, Scottsdale Arizona! I asked Bob if I could caddie He quickly told me NO! Bob qualified with a fourth place finish in the Southern Ohio PGA Senior Championship held at Sugar Valley CC. Good Luck Bob!
