Handicap Qualification: No player shall be eligible to compete in this Tournament whose playing handicap was less than 5 in the calendar year The combined lowest playing handicap for each pair during the calendar year 2017 shall not be less than 15. In order to be eligible to compete, a player shall have, in the calendar year prior to the event, returned a minimum of four cards in qualifying competitions. Evidence of each player s eligibility must be produced both at the qualifying and at the match play stages, preferably using the single page GLFnet report, signed by a relevant Club fficial. Each team to consist of 10 male members and play shall be Foursomes Scratch Medal Play with the best four cards from five to count. Thirty-two teams will qualify for the match play stage four teams from each section. The qualifying Clubs will return to their original venue, unless the home team qualifies and play in the following format 1 v 4, 2 v 3, following which an open draw will be made by the Ulster Branch who will also set the dates and venues for these matches to be played. Handicap Qualification: For the purpose of eligibility and competing, the handicap for both Men and Ladies shall be the lowest playing handicap in the previous year. To be eligible to compete as a pair, each player (male & female) must have returned a minimum of 4 qualifying scores in the previous calendar year (2017), In addition the combined handicap of that pair shall not be lower than 19 with a maximum of 27 if the combined handicap exceeds 27 then the pair shall play off 27. Each team to consist of 5 male and 5 lady members. Play shall be by foursome medal play with men to drive from the first hole. The best four cards from five to count in the qualifying stage. Men to drive at the first hole. 32 teams will qualify for the match play stage - 4 from each section. Future entry to the competition shall not be accepted until the penalty is paid in full. Age: All players must be under 18 years on the 1 January 2018 Handicap: The current playing handicap of the player will be used for this event and the allowance will be ½ of the combined handicap. Maximum individual handicap 12 if a player has a playing handicap in excess of 12 he must revert to 12, before the handicap allowance is calculated. Each team shall consist of four male members and play will be by Foursomes Medal Play. The four leading teams in the qualifying section will play a semi-final and final to decide the Ulster Section Winners. The semifinal draw will be based on the qualifying scores with 1 v 4 and 2 v 3. All ties to be decided as set out in the GUI Tournament Conditions Book. The Ulster Semi-Final and Final will be played on 30 July 2018 at Lurgan Golf Club The Ulster Section Winners will represent the province in the All-Ireland Semi-Final / Final at Tramore on September 2018 Practice: Teams should contact host Club beforehand.
