Any questions, please call Doug Chuzie at (814) *** The dates for the Annual Parochial Grade School Golf Tournament Championships will be Friday June 8 TH and Saturday June 9 TH The tournament will be held at J.C. Martin Golf Course (652 Shunpike Road) located by the Erie Zoo. Please inform your students, boys and girls grades 5 8, of this tournament. This is the grade they will have just completed, NOT the grade to which they are about to be promoted. We also will have two 2-person best ball scrambles. Both 2018 scrambles will be played at JC Martin Golf Course. Enclosed you will find paperwork for all of the tournaments: The Person Scrambles (Saturday May 19 and Saturday June 2) and the 2018 Parochial Grade School Golf Tournament JC Martin Golf Course (Friday June 8 TH and Saturday June 9 TH ). *** Please know that all monies paid are non-refundable. If a tournament is postponed or cancelled due to poor weather or golf course conditions, the golf course will issue a rain-check for your paid round of golf. *** The following is included in this packet: 1. 7 GOLF ETIQUETTE 1. When hitting off the tee, tee the ball between the markers, never in front. 2. When approaching the green, you should put your golf bag up next to the green, near where your next tee will be located. 3. No one should move, talk or stand close to, or directly in front of a player who is hitting the ball. 4. Remember to replace your divots on fairways and repair ball marks on the green. 5. Allow 5 minutes to look for a lost ball. 6. If a ball is out of bounds or lost, you must go back and hit a provisional ball and add a penalty stroke, plus count all your hits. 7. When players have putted out, leave the green immediately and write scores in on next tee. 8. Counting all your strokes is part of the golf game. Make sure all agree with one s score before teeing off the next hole. Nothing can be settled in the Pro Shop referring to a player s score on a certain hole. 9. When turning your score in, make sure all agree with the total before signing the card. 10. GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP should be used at all times. GENERAL RULES OF PLAY (2 PERSON SCRAMBLE) 1. 5 th & 6 th grade boys, 5 th & 6 th grade girls and 7 th & 8 th grade girls will play from the red tees. 7 th & 8 th grade boys will play from the white tees. 2. Each player s tee shot must be used at least 2X during the tournament (9 holes). Note on the scorecard whose tee shot is used on each hole. 3. Each team shall consist of two players in a scramble format. Only one drive is selected on each hole. Select the preferred drive and both players will hit from that spot. Once a shot is selected, THE OTHER BALL is out of play and the player must pick it up. 4. Each player will in turn drop his or her ball within one (1) club length of the marked spot, no nearer the hole, and play the shot from that location. You also must remain in the same condition or cut of grass. (For example in a sand trap, rough or hazard) 5. When putting on the green, each team will putt in order until the ball is holed. You must play from within two inches of the selected shot, no closer to the hole. If a player putts and misses and then continues to putt out, all other first putts are out of play. Putts after the ball is holed will not count. When the ball is holed, the score is recorded for the team (ON BOTH TEAMS SCORECARD). 6. Scorecards must be totaled and turned in to tournament director. If there is a tie at the end of 9 holes, the winner will be determined by a scorecard playoff. Further details will be announced the morning of the tournament.

Out of bounds on #1 and #2 on left. Must hit another ball and add one penalty stroke, and count all your strokes. 2. If the ball goes against the fence, you can move it back until it is no longer in your way, no closer to the hole. No penalty. 3. If a ball goes under a tree and you are unable to hit, take it back as far as you want, no closer to the hole, and add a penalty stroke. 4. If a ball goes in the creek, drop a ball on side it entered, and add a penalty stroke. (You must hit over the creek). 5. If the ball goes out in the street, on any hole, it is considered out of bounds, add a penalty stroke. HAVE FUN!
