To keep it there we need to identify and develop our young talent. The Surrey RookieTour was successfully launched in 2007 to broaden the competitive experience of the Under 14 age group.

6 S U R R E Y G O L F Aim of the Rookie Tour * Act as a bridge to the mainstream junior opens * Provide a competitive element appropriate to age and standard. * Give competitive experience outside of Clubs * Build team spirit and friendship within their peer group * Allow identification of talent and form for Surrey coaching & teams * Provide fun through qualifying events, par 3 and limited hole competitions There is a mixture of course length and qualifying/non qualifying competitions for both boys and girls with official handicaps of For some it s perhaps their first real chance at competitive golf outside of their Clubs. For others a chance to further develop their competitive skills against players of a similar age and standard. For both the boys and girls there are Scratch and Handicap Order of Merit competitions. Tees and course length will be appropriate to age and ability sometimes allowing the introduction of shortened tees for the younger player. Conditions of Entry Entry open to Surrey boys and girls who are members of SCGL and SLCGA affiliated Clubs that must hold and maintain the players handicap. Entry Forms, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety Forms can be found after mid-february 2018 on the Surrey County Golf Limited web site, A RookieTour Health & Safety Consent Form and Code of Conduct Form must be submitted with your entry. Competitors must be 13 years or under on 31 st December Handicap limits: Boys 18-hole Medal 0 to 12; Boys 18-hole Stableford 13 to 28; Boys 9-hole Stableford 28.1 to 36; Girls 18-hole Stableford A player must have a CDH number if their handicap is 28 or below for boys and 36 or below for girls. (Note: Handicap categories subject to change before start of 2018 season) No player will be allowed to enter more than 9 events in advance, however if an event still has places available 2 weeks before the date of competition, then all registered players will be informed via and these places will become available to all. All entries will be on a first come, first served basis if events are oversubscribed. Start Sheets and Results will be ed to all entrants and published on under the tab JUNIORS - Junior Rookies. In the event of a No Show the player will be ineligible to play in their next entered event. Players are allowed one late cancellation within 24 hours of their tee time. Further late cancellations and the player will be ineligible to play in their next entered event. Cancellations will be taken only by text to stating name & event withdrawing from. Caddies Competitors are not allowed caddies in any of the events. Although any player under the age of 10 must have an adult present for child protection purposes, but they must remain at least 25 metres from the players at all times and give no advice nor interfere with play in any way. Failure to comply with these requirements will result in a warning with a further breach resulting in disqualification. Spectators must remain at least 25 metres from the players throughout the rounds. A full set of RookieTour rules is available, and can be downloaded from the Surrey County Golf Limited website. Order of Merit All events will count towards an Order of Merit. There will be scratch & handicap sections for both the Boys and Girls, with points awarded for each event. The best 6 results will count towards each of the relevant Order of Merits. The Order of Merit and individual events will be used for identification of talent for coaching squads.
