The four lowest single-season scoring averages in school history have come under her direction. Coached freshman Hannah Wood to an individual title at the 2015 Clover Cup. Has already won nine tournament titles in her six seasons at the OU helm and has presided over eight individual crowns. The top 15 rounds in school history (in relation to par) have come under her direction. Has coached OU to 33 top-fi ve fi nishes in its 62 tournaments since her arrival (53 percent). Directed Sooners to a program-best fourth-place fi nish at the NCAA Championships last season, a ninth-place fi nish in 2013, and a sixth-place fi nish in Then-sophomore Chirapat Jao-Javanil won the 2012 NCAA individual title. Served as an assistant coach at the University of Georgia for four years ( ). Her time there included a stint as interim head coach during 2007 NCAA Central Regional (second place) and NCAA Championships (eighth place). Served as a graduate assistant at Kent State after a stellar playing career there in which she was a threetime All-Mid-American Conference selection and the 2003 MAC Golfer of the Year as a senior. Helped lead Kent State to a 15th-place showing at the 2001 NCAA Championships (best in school history) as a sophomore and to a 19th-place fi nish in 2003 as a senior. SOONERS SET FOR NCAA SAN ANTONIO REGIONAL The University of Oklahoma s women s golf team is set to compete in the 18-team NCAA San Antonio Regional this Thursday through Saturday (May 7-9) at the 6,428-yard, par-72 Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas. The low six teams and the low three individuals not on those teams will advance to the NCAA fi nals, which will be held May at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla. This marks OU s fi fth straight NCAA postseason appearance and 14th overall. Last year, the Sooners fi nished in fourth place at the NCAA West Regional, held at the Tumble Creek Golf Course at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, Wash., and posted a program-best fourth-place fi nish at the NCAA fi nals at the Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Okla. OU will tee off on Thursday (in nine-minute increments) starting at 8:24 a.m. CT. DROUIN-LUTTRELL CREATES CONSISTENCY Veronique Drouin-Luttrell has certainly proven herself in her six seasons as OU s head coach. After taking over a program that fi nished in 10th place or worse in half of its events in , Drouin-Luttrell has guided OU to top-fi ve showings in 33 of 62 tournaments (53 percent) and has produced nine teams wins. The St. Agnes, Quebec, native has presided over the 15 lowest team rounds (in relation to par) in school history and directed the Sooners to each of the last three NCAA Championships, where they placed sixth in 2012, ninth in 2013 and a program-best fourth last season. SOONERS AT HOME IN SAN ANTONIO The NCAA San Antonio Regional will mark the Sooners fourth time this season to compete in San Antonio. Last fall, OU registered a share of ninth place at the Alamo Invitational and a sixth-place fi nish at the Jim West Challenge, both in San Antonio. The Big 12 Championship was also hosted in the Alamo City, and OU came away with a seventh-place fi nish. The Briggs Ranch Golf Club is host to the Alamo Invitational, where the Sooners have had signifi cant success. In 2012, OU won the tournament by eight shots, registering an 848 (-16). In fall 2013, the Sooners carded an 840 (-24), winning by eight shots and shattering the previous school 54-hole record. Then-freshman Alexandra Kaui broke the OU 18-hole record, logging a 65 (-7) in the tournament s fi nal round for a three-round 10-under 206, the best 54-hole score in relation to par in school history. WOOD COLLECTS FIRST COLLEGIATE TITLE Freshman Hannah Wood secured her fi rst collegiate individual title at the Clover Cup in mid-march, fi ring a three-round 209 (-7). Wood played all three rounds under par, including two rounds in the 60s, for a two-shot win over Arizona State s Monica Vaughn. The victory marked OU s fi rst since two-time fi rst-team All-American Chirapat Jao-Javanil won the 2014 Big 12 Championship. Then-seniors Emily Collins, Chirapat Jao-Javanil, Kaitlyn Rohrback and Anne-Catherine Tanguay fi nished their careers with four of OU s top six career scoring averages, nine tournament titles and two conference championships. Jao-Javanil was also the 2012 NCAA individual champion. This season, Drouin-Luttrell started fresh with four true freshmen (Rylee Pedigo, Ana Ruiz, Valerie Tanguay and Hannah Wood) and a sophomore (Alexandra Kaui), who was last season s conference freshman of the year, in her lineup. In its nine tournaments, the young squad has posted 10 top-20, four top-10 and two top-5 individual fi nishes, as well as six rounds in the 60s. Comparing the scoring averages of this year s top three freshmen to last year s top three seniors when they were freshmen gives a glimpse into what could be a bright future for the Sooners. When last year s top three seniors were freshmen, they averaged a scoring average. This year s top three freshmen average a 74.19, suggesting the squad will continue to be extremely competitive the next few years. the tournament fi nal round for a three-round 10-under 206, the best 54-hole score in relation to par in school history. 2
