1 GETACTIVE! SINGAPORE 2017 RULES & REGULATION ARCHERY 1. Rules 1.1 According to the Laws/Rules established by the latest rules and regulations of the World Archery (WA) and as directed by the Archery Association of Singapore (AAS) and; 1.2 Governed by the GASG 2017 General Rules and Regulations. 2. Eligibility & Registration S/No Category Clarification 1 12 and Under Recurve Born on or after 1 st Jan and Under Recurve Born on or after 1 st Jan and Under Recurve Born on or after 1 st Jan and Under Recurve 5 18 and Under Compound Born on or after 1 st Jan and Under Recurve 7 21 and Under Compound Born on or after 1 st Jan Masters Recurve Mix (35 years & above) Born on or before 31 st Dec Masters Barebow Mix (35 years & above) Born on or before 31 st Dec Masters Compound Mix (35 years & above) Born on or before 31 st Dec Corporate Recurve Mix Archers from MNCs, SMEs, IHLs, Clubs & Associations, 12 Corporate Compound Mix Government Agencies, Unions. 2.1 The Minimum age to participate in this event is 10 years of age, as of 1 st Jan Entries will be accepted on a `first come first served basis. Due to time and space constrains, number of participating teams will be limited. 2.3 There must be at least two (2) Singaporeans/PRs in each team. 2.4 Entries in the youth categories (21, 18, 16, 14 and under categories) shall be in teams of three (3) archers of the same age category and gender. 2.5 Entries in the 12 and Under categories shall be in teams of three (3) archers regardless of gender. The age can be ranged from 10 to 12 years of age. 2.6 Entries in the Master categories shall be in the team of three (3) archers regardless of gender and shall be 35 years of age and/or above. 2.7 In the Master Barebow category, one-piece and take-down bows shall be allowed. A non-adjustable arrow rest shall be allowed. 2.8 Entries in the Corporate categories shall be in team of three (3) archers regardless of gender and age. 2.9 Entries in the Corporate categories shall have a minimum of two (2) staff of the entity Archers shall be allowed to participate in a maximum of two (2) categories in the events, if they fit the criteria of the categories Para-athletes are free to participate alongside the other athletes within the same team, should they choose to. 1
2 2.12 Bow and equipment of any colour will be allowed in the competition. Updated as of 12 July Teams are recommended to be in similar tops, but is not compulsory to do so The registration fee for all the Team event shall be $10 per pax The registration fee of $5 for para athlete and senior citizen (55 years of age and above) is not applicable for Archery. 3. Event Venue & Schedule All matches will be held at the Kallang Cricket Field on 29 to 30 July Date Timing Competition Stage Sat, 29 Jul 0900 Group Stages Sun, 30 Jul 0900 Group Stages Sun, 30 Jul 1230 Match Play Stage Sun, 30 Jul 1430 Bronze Medal Matches Sun, 30 Jul 1600 Gold Medal Matches Note: all above may change once the entries are finalised. 4. Any category with eight (8) teams or less, only one group will be formed and the all teams will enter elimination stage. 2
3 4.2 Event Stages The competition will be conducted over a drawn Group Stage, followed by Match Play Stage Group Stage Entries will be drawn and grouped into groups of four (4) to five (5) teams (depending on the final entries received) for each event. Matches will be played in a group round robin format, all matches to be decided by scoring as described below in section 4.4. If there are three (3) groups or more, the top two (2) from each group will then progress into Match Play Stage. And the two (2) highest scoring third ranked team will also progress into the Match Play Stage. If there are two (2) groups or less, the top three (3) from each group will then progress into Match Play Stage. And the two (2) highest scoring fourth ranked team will also progress into the Match Play Stage. If there is only one (1) group, all teams will then progress into Match Play Stage. 4.3 Tie breakers The group final ranking (ladder standing position) shall be determined by the Match Points. However in the event of a tie, the following shall apply (in sequence) to determine the winner: i) Total score of all the matches. Higher scoring team shall be ranked higher. ii) If standings are still tied, a simple toss of coin by the Chief Judge will determine the standings. iii) In event of deciding if a team progress to the Match Play Stage, a shoot-off will be carried out to determine the standings. 4.4 Scoring During each set, each archer in a team will shoot two (2) arrows, for a total of six (6) arrows per team. Each set shall be conducted in 120 seconds. 2 points will be awarded to the team who wins each set. 1 point will be awarded to the teams in event of a draw. 2 points will be awarded to the team who wins the match. Example: Team A vs Team B Match Points Team A wins the first set: 50 : 45 Team A(2) Team B(0) Team B wins the second set: 51 : 55 Team A(2) Team B(2) Team B wins the third set: 51 : 52 Team A(2) Team B(4) Team A wins the last set: 59 : 45 Team A(4) Team B(4) Tie on Match Points. 1 point will be awarded to each team. Final Match Points awarded for the match, Team A (5) Team B (5) During Match Play Stage, the above system will also be used to determine the winning team. In event of a tie, the total scores for the entire match will be used to determine the winning team. 3

Walkovers A team shall concede a walkover under the following circumstances: - If the team have not registered 30 minutes prior a scheduled match. - If player(s) for the match do not report at their respective targets for the match 5 minutes before start of match. Teams, who are given a walk-over due to the above condition of the opponent team, shall be awarded ten (10) Match Points. 6. Prize Money and Medals 6.1 Prize monies to be awarded to the top 3 winning teams of each events with at least 4 Teams. 6.2 The Champion team will receive a trophy. Top 3 winning team s archers will receive a medal each. 6.3 Only Medals will be awarded when entries are below 4 teams. 6.4 No prize money to be awarded for IHL Open category. 6.5 If there are only 3 teams for the event, using the minus 1 rule, only Gold and Silver will be awarded with no prize money. If there are less than 4 teams: Option 1 Participants can withdraw and receive a full refund. Option 2 Participants will be invited to join the same category of the other gender.
