2 Annual Holiday Party Les Widerynski Awards Banquet Les Widerynski Calendar Notations Legend: CUP = Designated as a Al Hodgkins Cup Event Al Hodgkins Cup competition runs over 15 Men s Club Thursday events. This season long competition is to determine the top sixty-four (64) players with the highest money winnings in the Thursday Men s Club events (exclusive of Hole-In- One payouts, closest to the pin (KP) payouts, and the Club Championship) during the golf season. The top 64 money winners will qualify for the Al Hodgkins Cup Tournament. The lowest NET score for the Tournament will be awarded the Al Hodgkins Cup. This will be a White and Green tee event. Handicaps will be based on the player s LOWEST handicap index (HI) for the prior six (6) months. Green tee participants will use their Green tee handicap reduced by three (3) strokes when computing the lowest Net score for the Al Hodgkins Cup winner. T = Designated as a Tournament Score Three events (four rounds of golf): December to Remember event on December 7th, 2017; the Happy New Year s Tournament on January 11 th, 2018; and the Club Championship held March 15 th and 16th, The December to Remember and Happy New Year s events will both have $150 added, with each Flight Winner receiving a pro-rata share, the amount dependent upon the number of Flights. Golf League Events (Ken Plam, Chairman) 14 Teams playing over 9 Mondays during the season: 11/13/17, 11/27/17, 12/4/17, 1/22/18, 1/29/18, 2/12/18, 2/26/18, 3/12/18, & 3/19/18 Championship Match TC = Tournament Committee 2

(Match 1) Nov 15 (Wednesday) Nov 16 CUP Individual Net Event: The TC will blind draw for foursomes. Nov 20 (Monday) 1st Round of Individual Match Play Championship. (Ron Pearsall, Chairman) See Event Description/Event Rules under Special Competitions on Men s Club website. YOU MUST KEEP YOUR SCORE EVEN IF YOU ARE OUT OF THE HOLE, FOR POSTING PURPOSES. Nov 23 Thanksgiving Day No Men s Club play this day. Nov 27 (Monday) Golf League (Match 2) Nov 30 CUP 4-Man Team (Three Best Balls) In the Box Net Event: TC will blind draw for all Teams. Each member will have four holes assigned to them to play, and his score must be used as one of the three Best Balls for each of his holes, no matter what his score. No one will be In the Box on holes 9 & 18. 3
4 DECEMBER 2017 Dec 4 (Monday) Golf League Match 3 Dec 7 CUP (T) Individual Net Event: The December to Remember Tournament (T-event). TC will pick foursomes. (This is a $150 Added event, with each Flight winner receiving a pro-rata share of the added pot, the amount dependent upon the number of Flights.) Dec 8 (Friday) Men s Club Holiday Party, Montecito Ballroom. Dec 14 CUP 2-Man Team (Better Ball) Net Event: The TC will blind draw for pairings. Dec 20 (Wednesday) Dec OUTSIDE EVENT - AGAVE AMATEUR TOURNAMENT Dec 21 TBD: Discussions currently underway for alternate venue for this date. Dec 28 CUP 2-Man Team (Pinehurst) Event: Pick your own partner, or TC will pair up Both players tee off on every hole, with Player A then playing Player B s drive, and Player B playing Player A s drive. After these second shots, select the one best ball and play alternate shot until the ball is holed. The player whose second ball was not chosen gets to play the third shot (so teams might sometimes choose the best ball after two shots based on who will get to hit the third shot). NON POSTING EVENT. 4

Pick your foursome or TC will pair up (This is a $150 Added event, with each Flight winner receiving a prorata share of the added pot, the amount dependent upon the number of Flights.) Jan 22 (Monday) Golf League Match 4 Jan 25 CUP 4-Man Teams (3 Better Balls Modified Stableford) Event: TC will Blind Draw foursomes. Each player will play his own ball throughout the Event, full handicap. The three Best Balls will be used for each hole, with the Pro Shop compiling the scores at the end of the round under the Modified Stableford format based on net scores as follows: Double Bogey or more 0 Bogey +1 5
6 Par +2 Birdie +4 Eagle +6 Double Eagle or better +8 Jan 29 (Monday) Golf League Match 5 Jan 31 (Wednesday) Dames vs. Dudes Round 2: Sign up in the Pro shop. FORMAT: 1. Teams will consist of two Dames vs. two Dudes 2. The format of the competition will be Match Play Partners Better Ball (Net) 3. If the opponent s two low balls tie (Net) the hole will be halved. 4. One point will be awarded the team with the most holes won on the front nine. One point will be awarded the team with the most holes won on the back nine. One point will be awarded for the team with the most holes won overall. Ties for the front, back, and overall will be awarded ½ point each. Pairings will be done by Handicap Index (HI) as of January 15, Dames with the two lowest HI s will be paired against the Dudes with the two lowest HI s. The pairings will continue based on the next two highest HI s for Dames & Dudes, etc. LUNCH WILL FOLLOW PLAY ON THE MONTECITO PATIO FEBRUARY 2018 Feb 1 CUP 2-Man Team (Aggregate) Event: Pick your partner or TC will pair up Feb 5 (Monday) Open Feb 8 Can-Am Cup!!!!!!!!!!! Based upon Net scores, points awarded will be as follows: Double Bogey or more 0 Bogey +1 Par +2 Birdie +4 Eagle +6 Double Eagle or better +8 Feb 19 (Monday) Open May be used for Golf League Rain Out Feb 21 (Wednesday) Feb 22 CUP 4-Man Team (2 Best Balls) Net Event: TC will blind draw the foursomes. Feb 26 (Monday) Golf League Match 7 MARCH 2018 Mar 1 CUP Member/Member Event: (Chuck Reid and Ed Niethold, Co- Chairman) Pinehurst Format. Both players tee off on every hole. Switch balls after the drive, golfer A playing golfer B s drive and golfer B playing golfer A s drive. After these second shots, select the one best ball and play alternate shot until the ball is holed. The player whose second ball was not chosen must play the third shot. NON-POSTING EVENT. Mar 5 (Monday) Open May be used for Golf League Rain Out 7
8 Mar 8 CUP 2-Man Team (Better Ball) Net Event: Pick your partner, or TC will provide pairings. Mar 12 (Mon) Golf League Match 8 Mar 15 (T) CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP - FIRST ROUND (Percy Serrano, Dennis Hooper Co-Chairs) This is a two day 36 hole event. Members will have the option to play in the Gross Flight (if there are enough participants for a Gross Flight), or one of the Net flights. There will be a Super Senior s Flight (70 years of age as of 3/16/17) playing from the Green tees. All other participants will play from the White tees. Handicaps will be based on the player s LOWEST handicap index (HI) for the prior six (6) months, i.e. from 9/1/17 to 3/1/18. There will be three Champions: Gross, Net, and Super Senior-Net. The Men s Club will add a $150 bonus to each of the three Champions. There will be prize money awarded at the end of each round and additional prize money awarded to the overall winners. Mar 16 (Friday) (T) CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP - SECOND ROUND Mar 19 (Mon) Golf League Championship Matches Mar 21 (Wednesday) Mar 21, 22, & 23 Member/Guest: (Jim Angus, Bob Kagy and Bob Bailey chairmen) This is a limited field event consisting of 62 members and their guests played over 3 days - putting contest on 3/21 on Montecito putting course, plus 18 hole play on the South Course on 3/22 and 3/23. Mar 23 (Friday) Mar 29 Drive Against Hunger: This is an outside event that many of our members have supported in the past. Mark your calendars. Details to follow.. March 29 (Thursday) AWARDS PARTY MONTETICO AND KP CONTEST APRIL 2018 April 5 ABCD Scramble: A&B White tees, C&D Green tees. Minimum of 4 tee shots per player. TC will blind draw for foursomes. Gross event non-posting. April 12 4-Man Teams (Best Ball) Net Event: TC will blin d draw for foursomes April 18 (Wednesday) April 19 Individual Net Event: Pick your foursome or TC will pair up April 26 2-Man Team Net Event: Pick your partner or TC will pair up MAY 2018 May 3 2-Man Team (Pinehurst) Event: Pick your own partner, or TC will pair up 9

This play commences about mid - June. Mark your 10

For the balance of the golf season, through the first week in November, Men s Club play will continue on the North Course, based upon availability, with the following dates and event formats. For all events, players may pick their own groups, or the TC will provide pairings. October 11 Both North & South Courses Closed October 17 (Wed) October 18 Two Man Aggregate Score Event.
