2 Laurel Springs Men s Golf Association 2017 Men s Golf Tournament Guide Welcome to the 2017 Laurel Springs golf season. We have great tournaments lined up including some adjustments to the 2 nd. Annual Challenge Cup. We have also added a new Event in September that should be a lot of Fun. We have adjusted Tournaments Dates to enhance Participation including moving our very popular Laurel Cup to August in We are also very excited to announce the Launch of our New Website. Details will be available at our Kick-off Party on January 27 th. Enclosed you will find Tournament schedules, point allocations, itineraries and costs for the 2017 Calendar. We always strive for full fields at each of our events. Not only is participating a great way to meet new people and keep your game sharp, it also dramatically increases your chances of obtaining enough points to qualify for the end of year PLAYER S CHAMPIONSHIP! Membership to the LSMGA cost is $120 per year. Dues will be billed in two installments, January & April. Visit the LSMGA website at for information on tournaments. We are very excited about the 2017 Tournament Schedule & hope that you can participate in as many events as possible. Please make every effort to sign up for Tournaments on the LSMGA Website. The Deadline for entry has been moved back to Thursday for one day events. Two Day Events Deadline will be further out to Help in planning for the events. Points are based on a full field. If we do not have a full field, the number of places paid will be adjusted and posted prior to the start of play. If you are not currently an MGA member, please contact the pro shop for all the information and to sign up.

4 2017 Points Distribution NOTES: 1. * Seniors can earn points contribution from either the Senior Invitational or Men s Invitational, Whichever is higher. 2. ** Seniors can earn points contribution from either the Senior Club Championship or Club Championship, Which ever is higher. 3. In the event of ties that are not settled on the course, points are combined, divided and rounded to nearest whole number. 4. In the event flights are not full, due to a numbers constraint, places awarded may be reduced.

Your team plays against all teams within your flight. Second part of game is OPTIONAL: Your team plays PRO Team. Bet up to $100. Beat the Pro s and double your money in Pro Shop, Tie the Pro's get your bet back in Pro Shop, Lose and get half your bet in the Pro Shop. Tees: All players will play from the Blue tees. Players that are 70 years of age or older with a 10 Handicap or higher may play from the White tees with handicap adjustment according to USGA Handicap rule 3-5. $45 per Player Plus Cart Fee 400 Points for Overall Winner Flights: 1 st 300 points, 2 nd 200 points, 3 rd 150 points, 4 th 100 points, 5 th. 50 points 1. 9 Laurel Springs Golf Club Challenge Cup Match Play Championship Sign-up: Thursday February 2 nd - Sign-up on LSMGA Website Dates: April 28 th Pairings Drawn After Spring Member/Member Practice Round May 2 nd Aug 27 th Tournament Play Individual Match Play This is a Match Play tournament. Open to all members of the LSMGA in good standing. The field will be divided into 8 Flights based on Handicap Index update 4/01/17. No limit on entries. Entry Deadline is 4/06/17. Pairings including potential Byes will be drawn after Practice Round of Spring Member/Member 4/28/17. There will be no Consolation Bracket this year. o Players must have a current handicap index. o Players will receive 100% of USGA Handicap. o Players will play off of the lower handicap during matches. o Players must have posted No Less Than 10 rounds in a calendar year. If not, the lowest handicap index will be used during that 12 month period. o Each Flight Winner will move into the Quarter Finals Time: Round 1 May 2 nd. May 14 th. Both players tee off on every hole and select best tee ball. Both players complete the hole earning quota points. Both scores count on every hole. Double Bogey or higher= -1pt. Bogey =1pt. Par = 2pts. Birdie = 4pts. Eagle = 8pts. Flights of 8-12 Teams Will Be Determined on Basis of Total Team Handicap o Number of Flights will be determined based of teams participating All Flight Winners Qualify for the Shoot-Out o Plus one Wild Card Team (Team with Lowest Score that did not win Flight) Shootout to Determine Overall Winner Tees: All players will play from the Blue tees. Players that are 70 years of age or older with a 10 Handicap or higher may play from the White tees with handicap adjustment according to USGA Handicap rule 3-5. $45 Plus Cart Fee 400 Points for Overall Winner The number of places in each flight that receive points will be adjusted to a maximum of 50% of the total participants in each flight or 4 places, whichever is the less. Players that are 70 years of age or older with a 10 Handicap or higher may play from the White tees with handicap adjustment according to USGA Handicap rule 3-5. $100 per man + cart fees + additional $30 to the losing team to pay for lunch and drinks following match. 200 points for all players on winning team; 100 points for all players on losing team 1.
