We are all grateful for their dedication to MCC. With that, I would also like to welcome Terry Trice, Lance Stafford and Eddie Craven to the BOD. I am looking forward to working with you in It is hard to believe 2017 has come and gone already. We had a great 2017 at MCC. A few things that 2017 brought us: a new Superintendent, a new Assistant Pro, new cart paths, new carpet and paint downstairs, new chairs in the men s locker room, new furniture and design in the women s locker room, a new bathroom on the back nine, new pool furniture and pool repairs, and new HVAC unit for the clubhouse, and new mowing equipment. Thank you ALL who contributed to making these things possible. Super Bowl Scramble & Party Maumelle Country Club Sunday, February 4th I am looking forward to seeing what 2018 will bring MCC. THE ENTIRE TURFGRASS STAFF WOULD LIKE TO THANK EACH AND EVERY MEMBER FOR THE CHRISTMAS BONUS CHECKS, WE ARE VERY FORTUNATE AND THANKFUL TO HAVE SUCH KIND EMPLOYERS. THE GOLF COURSE IN NEARLY COMPLETELY DORMANT, HOWEVER, THE GREENS HAVE HELD THEIR COLOR FAIRLY WELL THROUGH THE FIRST PART OF WINTER. THIS HAS DELAYED OUR PAINT- ING OF THE GREENS, ALONG WITH THE MUCH NEEDED LATE DECEMBER RAINS. WE STILL PLAN ON PAINTING WHEN WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE RIGHT AND THE GREENS ARE COMPLETELY DORMANT. LOOKING FORWARD TO A GREAT YEAR IN 2018, PLEASE REMEMBER TO FIX BALL MARKS AND FILL DIVOTS, THEY TEND TO BE MORE NOTICEABLE AND OBVIOUSLY DO NOT RECOVER IN THE WINTER MONTHS, SO REPAIRING YOUR BALL MARKS AND FILLING YOUR DIVOTS ARE EVEN MORE IM- PORTANTANT DURING THESE WINTER MONTHS. Please note that the Club is closed New Year s Day and the will be closed January 2nd 4th for annual inventory, a few repairs and heavy cleaning. The golf course will be open and the men s locker room will be serving a limited menu of hot dogs and soup. The will re-open on the 5 th for full service. Thank you for your cooperation. REMINDER The Club will be closed on New Year s Day Monday, January 1st. Free Steak Dinner Somewhere hidden in the newsletter are four Member s club numbers. This will eliminate the need to sign up. Any MCC member that does not want to be a MGA member in 2018 can simply notify the accounting office and the charge will be removed. Your $30.00 annual dues gets you an instant holein-one bonus of $ cash (when you make a hole-in-one at Maumelle CC), an immediate $10.00 Pro Shop credit and $20.00 goes toward MGA projects at our club. What a deal! M W G A G O L F P R E S I D E N T Hooray for 2018! Wishing everyone a new year of health and prosperity! We had a wonderful Christmas luncheon in December fot our 2017 event. Chef Paul provided a nice lunch and a spectacular dessert! Thank you Chef Paul & Bill for always taking great care of us. We had a fun "Dirty Santa" game with great presents. The best part of the day was the visiting and comaraderie of the golf ladies and growing our friendships. I have received a gracious letter from Hope Alliance Ministry thanking us for our generous donation. With the very warm December, lots of us ladies were able to play more golf than the norm, but as the colder days are starting to sneak in more frequently, some of us fair weather golfers are not playing as much. We can keep in touch by eating and drinking at our favorite Club House restaurant more frequently. See you at the Club! Lynn Dickey MWGA President G O L F Greetings from the golf shop!
