Let s hope that they bring an early arrival of Spring with warm and glorious weather. It is once again time for the golf season to swing into full mode and the Masters Tournament is just around the corner. The Seafood Buffet Dinner and PCCC PaintNite were great parties as some Members enjoyed the wine and the painting until the very end of the evening. The PCCC PaintNite was such a hit that the plans are already in the works for a sequel. There is a buzz emanating from Panther Creek Country Club. The buzz is not from the bees pollinating the flowers and trees, or from the club s security system. The buzz is from the excitement that our new Assistant Professional Audra Burks has brought to the Pro Shop. Head Professional Pat Bayley and Audra have been creating new events that will keep the entire Family on the golf course all season long. Hopefully you have had the opportunity to welcome Audra to the Club. Welcome to all of the New Club Members. What an exciting time to be a part of the growth and resurgence of Panther Creek Country Club as The Family Private Country Club of Springfield. Thank you to all of the Members that have sponsored new Members and to all of those Members that have been hosting or sponsoring events at the Club. April is a joyous time to celebrate, and the club has planned many events and opportunities for you to celebrate with your fellow Members. Ask about our referral program for your friends and guests! Lastly, I need a little help from the Members of Panther Creek! We are going to implement some new procedures for the 2015 Golf Season. All of our golf staff is new to Panther Creek and the best way for us meet you and take care of all of your needs if for you to stop in and register before playing. This includes guest registration, cart and range use. While I know this may seem a little bothersome, it will go a long way for us to provide the excellent service you deserve. Panther Creek is also home to many private cart owners. The golf shop would ask that you notify, by calling, the shop if you intend on jumping out to play a few holes. We ask this only to know who is on the course at any given time and insure you do not jump out when there might be an event going on. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. 5 fromthegolfcourse Welcome to the 2015 Golf Season!! The grounds staff has been starting to get the golf course ready for the impending season. With several returning members of the staff coming back I m excited to get rolling with all of the work and events soon to fill our weeks. A few of the things we have already been focusing on include installing traction matting into the tunnel on #12, rebuilding green sand boxes, making green sand, and getting out course accessories. The thing I m most proud of getting completed as a staff is the edging of the bunkers prior to play starting. We use a RedMax reciprocating edger. It has dual blades that work like scissors and trim the sod and dirt edge in a perfect line. On a side note when I was at The Masters in 2013 they were using the same edger to clean up their bunker edges. Once we have...superintendent, Greg Willman them completed they always have such a defined, clean look. This is typically something I shoot to have completed by the first of May but due to the relatively light damage that winter brought to the course this year we were able to get them started and completed by the time the first ball was hit. With all the exciting things going on here I can t wait to see everyone enjoying the new amenities and of course coming out to play the golf course. See you all very soon.
