Regarded as one of the finest private clubs in the West Midlands and set within 95 acres of beautiful mature parkland. Situated just a mile from the town centre of Solihull and minutes from Junction 5 of the M42, Olton has an ideal location. History of Olton Golf Club Founded in 1893 the club was originally located in Olton where it remained until 1903 when it moved to the present site.

The building of the new clubhouse in Mirfield Road in 1935 further enhanced the club s appeal and it would be selected as the venue for many amateur and professional championships.

Although the entire course and clubhouse are within Solihull, it was decided to retain the name Olton Golf Club. The building of the new clubhouse in Mirfield Road in 1935 further enhanced the club s appeal and it would be selected as the venue for many amateur and professional championships. Tournaments held at the Club over the years have influenced many fine and famous players to grace it s fairways, when you play at Olton you are walking in the steps of greatness; James Braid and Harry Vardon and more recently Paul Casey and Nick Dougherty as well as locals Robert Rock and Steve Webster to name just a few. Ever since my days as an amateur I have always looked forward to playing Olton. It s a demanding test where managing your game is vital. Do not be fooled into thinking that a par of 69 is easy, birdies are hard to come by at Olton. 4 The Course A good test of golf for players of all levels awaits at Olton Golf Club. Its well manicured fairways are tree lined throughout the entire course making positional play from the tee just as important as finding the right spots on the undulating greens. Significant investment in our team, machinery and technology helps us to maintain the high standards that Olton is used to, resulting in excellent playing conditions all year round. At 6230 yards from the white tees this par 69 golf course has a standard scratch score of 70, confirming there are plenty of hazards to capture the wayward golf ball. With six par 4 s of over 400 yards, one of the four par 3 s at 200yards through an avenue of trees and only one par 5 the course provides a good challenge to all golfers. You ll find a great atmosphere with friendly staff serving a selection of hot and cold food and beverages from a choice of 3 bars, lounges and eating areas. If you prefer a more casual setting, you may choose to enjoy the patio, which offers a wonderful vista of the course. For those still feeling competitive, 2 full sized tables await in the snooker room. I have had the pleasure of playing Olton on several occasions. It s a great test of golf, always in superb condition. I thoroughly recommend you pay them a visit. 8 Professional The Professional Shop carries all the latest equipment and a considerable stock of clothing and accessories. An excellent standard of golf tuition is carried out by our PGA professional staff and is tailored to suit individual requirements, from beginner to the more experienced golfer. There is a reserved area for practice where lessons are held including a range facility with 4 covered bays. On course tuition can also be arranged.
