1 (Clinton, Conn.- ) Ed Slattery of Candlewood Valley Country Club won the hosted by Clinton Country Club, Clinton, Conn., today with a record high 32 points in this modified stableford event open to PGA Professionals. Slattery finished with 6 birdies and one eagle on his way to shoot 68 and take first place. Finishing in second place for the second year in a row with 27 points was Frank Leja, of Evergreen Golf Center. Slattery collected the first place check of $1,100. William Street of New Haven Country Club won the Thornhill Division with 25 points in a match of cards over Joe Mongillo of Hop Meadow C.C.. Frank Leja from E vergreen Golf Center took the Korolyshun Division with 27 points. Ron Dellostritto of Wetherfield C.C. won the Wilson Division with 24 points. John Paesani of Norwich G.C. compiled 26 points and the Donohue Division title. The four divisions are based upon years of PGA Membership and are named after the previous four Head Professionals at Alling Memorial Golf Course, this year s Walter Lowell Public Golf Course Distinguished Service Award winner. The divisions include (in order from youngest to oldest) Thornhill Division, Korolyshun Division, Wilson Division, and the Donohue Division.
