2 Welcome to Thaxted Park Golf Club Thaxted Park Golf Club is located in the southern suburb of Woodcroft only 20 kilometres from Adelaide s CBD. The course layout takes advantage of the rolling hills, offering views to the sea and many of the tree lined fairways are interwoven with creeks and dams that attract an abundance of wildlife. With many holes that could be labelled as signature, our key hole is the 6th-par 5 where the green has been modelled on the iconic 17th Road Hole at St Andrews. Thaxted Park Golf Club offers a course of Santa Anna irrigated fairways and bent greens that are a delight to play. With a natural layout that delivers holes in all directions of the compass, you will never feel like you are playing the same hole again. Throughout the years we have maintained and enhanced our reputation as a friendly, affordable and sociable club where members can relax in company overlooking a course that is a credit to the dedicated staff, committees and members alike. In recent years with the course improvements, new restaurant and development of the golf academy we have seen the number of members increase significantly. Thaxted Park Golf Club have won the Simpson Cup on four occasions and has proved to be a successful breeding ground for Professional Golfers, including Glenn Joyner, Justin Cooper, Adrian Percey, Nathan Kent, and more recently Adam Bland, Peter Cooke and Jordan Sherratt. Club golf events As a member of Thaxted Park Golf Club you will have the opportunity to play many different events. We understand that people s golfing abilities range from beginners to accomplished and elite players. Golf events are structured to ensure our members can compete at a level that is suitable to their ability. Events range from Club Championships to friendly family competitions where parents and children or mixed family members can compete together. 2 3

3 The Clubhouse As a member of Thaxted Park you will be able to relax and dine in the recently renovated clubhouse where you will be able to enjoy delicious meals and picturesque panoramic views of the golf course. Our clubhouse also features: Flat screen TVs Free WiFi ATM Extensive wine menu The Park Restaurant Offering picturesque views of the golf course the members dining room turns into The Park Restaurant on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night. Wednesday night is a great member s night with the weekly member s draw taking place. Thursdays are a fantastic night for the family where kids under 12 eat for free. On Fridays, The Park offers a full a la carte menu making it the perfect place to unwind and share a special occasion with family and friends. Functions As a member of Thaxted Park you will have access to booking our newly renovated clubhouse at special member s rates. The modern facility offers a unique private environment that is the perfect venue for your function or corporate event. The function room looks over the golf course with beautiful panoramic views from all areas. Whatever the occasion, you will have a dedicated events manager on hand to help create the perfect event. We recognise that the most important aspect of any function is the enjoyment and satisfaction of our guests. That s why we look forward to creating a tailored package that reflects your individual needs and budget. We cater for weddings, engagement parties, anniversaries, cocktail parties, birthdays, and other private functions. The function room allows members to host a sit down function for up to 140 guests or a cocktail function of 180. Our chef uses the highest quality fresh produce to deliver packages that can be personalised to meet your individual requirements. Social events Throughout the year the club holds various social events. These events are the perfect place to meet other members and experience the great camaraderie of the club. Events range from Christmas in July to guest speaker nights and the Thaxted Park open day, where club members and members of the community are invited to the club to experience all the club has to offer. The Sprig Bar The Sprig Bar is the perfect spot to sit down in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy a meal or drink after your round of golf. Alfresco The Alfresco overlooks the newly built Road Hole and the 9th green. These views and atmosphere make it the perfect place to watch the golf while enjoying a drink or a delicious meal. Representing Thaxted Park Golf Club For those wanting to play and represent Thaxted Park Golf Club there are various opportunities. These range from interclub matches to pennant run by Golf SA. In order to represent Thaxted Park Golf Club, team members are expected to be enthusiastic, committed and excellent ambassadors of the club on and off the course. 4 5

4 Membership options 7 Day - Full playing rights $ Day - Playing rights from Sunday to Friday $1080 The Pro Shop The Pro Shop has assisted golfers ranging from beginners to Tour Players. The club has a diverse membership of all ages whom the Pro Shop provides a choice of the world s leading brands in apparel, clubs, shoes and gifts. Our dedicated team is available seven days a week to provide friendly and professional service. So whether you are looking for a new set of custom fitted clubs or need to improve your game with some professional tuition, our staff are always available to assist you with all your golfing needs. 5 Day - Playing rights from Monday to Friday $780 9 Hole 5 day - 9 Holes Monday to Friday $540 One day - Monday or Friday $396 Twilight - Sun to Fri $240 Social - Receive a Golf Australia handicap $180 The Park - 20% discount on meals $99 Intermediate - Under 30 $780 The Golf Academy Thaxted Park s golf academy caters for people of all abilities and ages. The academy has been setup to maximise everyone s enjoyment and learning. All lessons and clinics are run by the club s PGA professionals. At Thaxted Park we pride ourselves on leading the way in junior development and female participation. Our programs are run in conjunction with the national programs SwingFit and MyGolf. SwingFit is a fun way for women to learn the game. Clinics run for 75 minutes and consist of a light stretch, the fundamentals of the game and some light fitness exercises that are very similar to a yoga or pilates class. The Junior academy s structure has been designed to provide juniors with the necessary skills and knowledge to help them build confidence and develop their golf game. The academy encourages juniors to progress through different stages of development. Practice facilities The club provides Members with high quality practice facilities. This includes a quality 250 metre long driving range, extensive and contoured short game facility with numerous targets and a practice putting green located adjacent to the clubhouse. Junior - Under 21 $125 Junior - Under 18 $17 Family discount -partner/ spouse/ children U18 Golf SA and Golf Link All adult members are also required to pay an additional $55 to cover affiliaton fees for these organisations. For Juniors under 18 the fee is $33. These fees also apply to family discount members. House credit In addition to your membership you will be charged $100 worth of house credit and receive a membership disc. This credit will also be charged to partners/spouses of family members. When using your membership disc a 20% discount applies to all food and beverage purchases in the bar and restaurant. You can also top up this disc with additional funds. Membership payment options Annual membership payments may be made either in one lump sum or monthly by direct debit. Reciprocal clubs Once joining Thaxted Park Golf Club you will have access to more than 20 reciprocal golf clubs around Australia and for those travelling overseas we have a great selection in New Zealand, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea and Qatar.
