2 MISSION Certify Develop Connect Advocate Advancing business opportunities by certifying and connecting minority business enterprises to corporations and buying entities Event Overviews The annual golf outings are fundraising events designed to help support the activities, goals and objectives of the Council while providing certified minority suppliers and corporate representatives the opportunity to network while enjoying a full day of golf. This is a unique opportunity to build new business relationships and advance existing ones with colleagues, suppliers, corporate executives, supplier diversity and procurement professionals. This is the place where timely introductions and discussions can lead to long-term business relationships and partnerships. A portion of the proceeds help provide scholarships for minority business enterprises (MBEs) to attend advanced education training programs at either the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College or the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. This is an opportunity for certified MBEs and corporate purchasing representatives to network in an open forum. MBEs can make hundreds of sales calls in one location. The event is a catalyst for relationship-building and self-empowerment through compelling programming and thought-provoking speakers, seminars, exhibits and matchmaking sessions. These celebrations recognize the achievements of top minority-owned businesses, dynamic industry leaders and major corporations that are committed to supplier diversity and have had an economic impact in the region. The elegant evening recognizes award recipients across multiple categories, including Regional and National Corporations of the Year, MBE Suppliers of the Year, and other awards of distinction. The meetings are held at venues throughout the EMSDC service areas -- Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Meetings are also sometimes held at various corporate member locations.
