REGISTRATION All Competitors must register in person with The R&A at Fulford Golf Club no later than 14:00hrs on the day prior to commencement of the Championship (Thursday 26 April 2018). Please note that telephone registration will only be accepted in exceptional circumstances and with prior authorisation. Registration will open at 08:00hrs. YOU MUST PRODUCE A CURRENT CONGU HANDICAP CERTIFICATE OR OVERSEAS EQUIVALENT AND BRING A COMPLETED REGISTRATION FORM WITH YOU WHEN YOU REGISTER. 1

2 3. ACCOMMODATION & TRAVEL A list of nearby accommodation is available of the Fulford Golf Club website. The University of York is offering competitors and their families a discounted rate at their nearby Franklin House bed and breakfast accommodation (10 15 mins walk from the golf club). Located on the University of York s beautiful campus, guests can enjoy use of York Sport Centre located opposite the golf club. Guests get free use of the Sport Centre fitness suite and fitness classes; all other facilities including the swimming pool are available on a pay as you go basis. Please note that all visitors must complete a gym induction on their first visit. Single Room and Double 90 with Breakfast. All bookings must be done online. The nearest airport is Leeds Bradford (33 miles / 1 hour). The nearest train station York Station. (3 miles / 15 mins). 4. OFFICIAL PRACTICE DAY Thursday 09:00 14:00hrs All official practice times must be booked by contacting Fulford Golf Club on +44 (0) or by ing: info@fulfordgolfclub.co.uk from Monday 9 April 2018 onwards. No bookings will be accepted prior to this date. Official practice days are for competitors only. The practice ground will be opened one hour before play each day and will close one hour after the last tee time. Provision may be made for those wishing to practise outside these hours by contacting The R&A Championship Office. Competitors wishing to practise out with the above official time may do so at the discretion of the host club and will be subject to a discounted green fee of 20. Any enquiries for such rounds should be directed to the club on +44 (0) Tee times may be restricted and are subject to availability. 5. DRAW This Championship will consist of 54 holes of stroke play and will take place over three days from Friday 27 April Sunday 29 April One round of 18 holes shall be played each day. Round 2 start times will be determined by Round 1 scores with the lowest scores starting first. Round 3 will be determined by the 36 hole total with the lowest scores starting last. There will be no cut. The draw for Round 1 will be posted on the official notice board at 16:00hrs on Thursday 26 April. Please note that it is the responsibility of the competitor to ascertain their tee time. The draw will also be available on The R&A website 6. QUALIFYING ROUNDS - SCORECARDS Your scorecard will be distributed by the Starter and you should arrive on the 1 st tee approximately ten minutes before your starting time. The card must be returned to The R&A Recording Office immediately after the completion of your round. 2

3 7. PACE OF PLAY CONDITION Each player is responsible for playing without undue delay. Each hole has been given a maximum completion time based upon the length and difficulty of the hole. The maximum time allotted for the completion of 18 holes will be available prior to play. You will be issued with the Pace of Play Condition when registering for the Championship. Please pay particular attention to this document as pace of play will be closely monitored. Players in breach of this condition will be warned and, if necessary, subsequently penalised. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to ask a member of the Committee for assistance. 8. DRIVING CLUB CONDITION Players are asked to note that the specimen condition in the of Golf regarding Driving Clubs is in effect. An updated List of Conforming Driver Heads is available on The R&A s website This list can also be viewed on request in The R&A Championship Office. 9. GROOVES & PUNCH MARKS The specimen condition in Decision 4-1/1 of Decisions on the of Golf is in effect for Grooves and Punch Marks. 10. DISTANCE-MEASURING DEVICES & YARDAGE BOOKS Please refer to the Additional Local. A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. Each competitor will receive a complimentary yardage book. 11. CADDIES / TROLLEY HIRE Competitors are reminded that caddies / trolley pullers are not permitted during this Championship. Complimentary pull trolleys will be available for competitors. There is a limited number of electric trolleys available at a cost to the competitor on a first come-first serve basis. 12. LOCKER ROOMS The locker room will be available for competitors use during the Championship. Competitors are advised that any items are left at their own risk. 13. PLAYERS LOUNGE Competitors will have the use of a dedicated, player only Chill Out area which is located upstairs in the clubhouse. 14. CLUBHOUSE / CATERING Catering will be available in the clubhouse from 06:00hrs on a cash basis. Evening meals will be available until 21:00hrs. The club has credit card facilities. 15. LIVE SCORING Online scoring services will be available throughout the Championship at 3

4 16. DRESS Competitors are reminded that a good standard of dress should be worn at all times. Headgear must not be worn in the clubhouse. Golf shoes should be removed before entering the lounge / dining areas. 17. MOBILE PHONES Mobile phones are prohibited on the course (this includes texting). The use of mobile phones to make voice calls in the public areas of the clubhouse is prohibited. 18. CAR PARKING There is ample car parking available at the golf club. 19. INSURANCE Competitors are advised to have a personal public liability insurance policy in place to protect them from claims for damage to third party property or injury to third parties whilst participating in this event. 20. R&A WELCOME RECEPTION Competitors and their guests are invited to join The R&A for a complimentary BBQ and golf trick show at the golf club on Thursday 26 April from 18:00 20:00hrs. The dress code for this event is smart casual or golfing attire. Competitors are expected to attend. 21. PRESENTATION The prize presentation will take place immediately after play (approximately 18:00hrs) on Sunday 29 April The following prizes will be presented: The Angela Uzielli Trophy shall be awarded to the player returning the lowest score for the 54 holes. The winner shall be The Girls Under 16 British Open Champion and shall also receive a silver medal and a voucher. Vouchers shall be awarded to the players in 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions. The Liz Pook Trophy shall be awarded to the player under 14 years of age returning the lowest score for the 54 holes. The winner shall also receive a voucher. A trophy & voucher shall be awarded to the player under 12 years of age returning the lowest score for the 54 holes. A voucher shall be awarded to the player returning the lowest 18 hole score in each round of the Championship Note: All competitors in receipt of a prize should attend and a list of prize winners will be posted in advance at The R&A Championship Office. Any prize winner who fails to attend the prize presentation and has not recorded her apologies in the Championship Office, will not receive the voucher. The voucher value will be donated to charity. 22. INSURANCE Competitors are advised to have a personal public liability insurance policy in place to protect them from claims for damage to third party property or injury to third parties whilst participating in this event. 23. WITHDRAWALS Until 12 noon on Friday 20 April, competitors should advise Angus McBride of the R&A Amateur Events Department if they have to withdraw from the Championship, Tel: +44 (0) or amateurentries@randa.org.
