1 August 2017 Newsletter Pro's Corner Kevin Rhinehart, PGA Professional (270) / kevinrhinehart@bellsouth.net Greetings to Membership, Men s Member Guest The Men s Member Guest is nearing a full field. Please don t hesitate if interested in signing up. The afternoon is full at this time. Please complete application and pay all fees. Entry fee is $250 and includes practice round on Friday, hors d'oeuvres on Friday night, tournament play on Saturday and Sunday, lunch on Saturday for all participants and their significant others, and a dance on Saturday night. Date for this event is September 9th and 10th. Anyone who signs up by August 5th will have their shirt sizes guaranteed. Anyone who drops after shirts have been ordered will have their entry fee refunded minus shirt cost. For those who have filled out an application and have not paid fees, please do so as soon as possible. Member Member Member Member is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, October 20th and 21st. This is a limited field event. We will begin taking entries September 15. Ladies Golf Clinic Ladies Golf Clinics will continue in August. The scheduled time is 5:30 pm on Wednesdays, August 9th and August 23rd. Fee for the clinic is $10 per student. Please contact the Golf Shop before 3 PM each Wednesday to sign up. RHCC Club Championship The Club Championship is set for August 26th and 27th. Entry fee of $20 is due when signing up. You may sign up in the Golf Shop or by calling and paying with a credit card. The tournament will be broken into men s flights, ladies' flights, senior men s flights, and super senior men s flights. If we have enough participation, we will have both senior and super seniors divisions. Super seniors begin at age 65. Ladies' Member Guest The RHCC Ladies' Day League Member Guest is Tuesday, August 8th. The tournament will begin at 9 AM. Registration will begin at 8:15 AM the day of tournament. The RHCC Ladies' Night League Member Guest is scheduled for Saturday, August 12th. Applications are available in the Golf Shop.

2 Board of Directors' Meeting The August meeting of the RHCC Board of Directors will be held on Monday, August 14, at 6:00 PM at the Rolling Hills Clubhouse. All members are invited to attend. Ladies' Day League The Day Ladies Member Guest will be Tuesday, August 8th, and is open to all members of the Ladies Golf Association. The deadline to sign up is August 4th by 12:00. The sign-up sheet is in the Golf Shop. There are still a lot of Tuesdays left in the golfing season. If you enjoy playing your own ball and meeting other lady golfers, join us on Tuesdays at 9:00 AM. Night Ladies' Golf League While the weather might be hot, hot, hot, the Night Ladies League members have persevered through the July heat. The Night League has continued to grow throughout the summer to more than 50 members, and we welcome all our new members this year. Throughout the 2017 season, we ve averaged about 30 players each Tuesday night. A fun development this season in our Night League play has been the healthy competition between a team of our newer, younger members and teams of our more seasoned players. During July, we congratulated Team Dycus, Scillian, Howard, and Crane on a very impressive six-under-par that included an eagle on No. 2! Since the Night League weekly prize to the winning team typically is a pair of socks, this team of young women quite literally has been beating the socks off the rest of us! Upcoming in August, the Night Ladies Member/Guest tournament is scheduled for Saturday, August 12. Registration forms are located in the RHCC Ladies Lounge and also on the bulletin board in the Pro Shop. The festivities for that day and evening include breakfast, the tournament, lunch, dinner, and dance. Fees for LGA Members are $75 and $85 for non-league club members. Deadline for entry into the tournament is August 5,

3 so please sign up before the deadline if you wish to play. An envelope is located on the Pro Shop bulletin board for submitting entry forms/fees. All RHCC members are invited to join us for the dance on Saturday night that starts at 8:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing all the RHCC ladies on the golf course on Tuesdays, and please join the Night League for fun on Tuesday nights there is lots of golf left to play this summer! Men's Night - Thursdays Men's Night Golf League continues on Thursday nights at RHCC. Sign up for Men's Scramble each Thursday night by 4:30 PM. To compete in the season-end Finale, you must play in at least 10 Thursday night scrambles. Contact the Golf Shop for more information. And don' forget about Men's Steak Night on Thursdays!!! Enjoy a delicious char-grilled ribeye, tossed salad, baked potato and dessert-- only $12. Family Swim Night FAMILY SWIM NIGHT is always a big hit, and what better way to spend a Saturday night in August! Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 19, from 6:00 to 10:00 PM. Dinner starts at 7:00 PM, and RHCC is grilling hamburgers and hot dogs. Please bring drinks for your family and side dishes or desserts to share. It's going to be a fun time for all!!!

4 Water Aerobics Water aerobics continues in August. Join Lynn Smith as she leads us through a fun and safe workout every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 10:15 AM. No need to sign up in advance - classes are on a drop-in basis. Cost is $3 per class. Friday Night Couples Golf On Friday nights in August (except August 25th) we will be having Couples Golf at 5:30 PM. What a great way to kick off the weekends! Grab your clubs and head out to Rolling Hills for some frosty beverages and 9 holes of golf. Just sign up in the Golf Shop by 4:30 PM. Cost is $5. FRIDAY NIGHT - AUGUST 4th COUPLES GOLF It's another great Friday night times 3!!! We will have Couples Golf starting at 5:30 PM. Then stay for grilled burgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings - only $5 per person - Dinner starts at 6:30 PM for non-golfers. Then enjoy the rest of the night with CARSON BEYER performing starting at 8 PM. Deadline to sign up for dinner is Thursday at 5:00 PM. Carson Beyer -- In. The. House. Friday night, August 4th, Carson Beyer is returning to Rolling Hills to perform for us. Carson performed here at the Clubhouse and was a huge hit. He's back by popular demand, and we couldn't be more excited. Mark your calendars and plan to be here to hear Carson performing his own music. It's going to be another Fun Friday Night!!!

5 Ladies' Golf Clinic We will have Ladies' Golf Clinic on Wednesday, August 9th and August 23rd, at 5:30 PM. Cost is $10 per person. Sign up in the Golf Shop by 3:00 PM each Wednesday. Under the Tuscan Sun Dance All RHCC members are invited to join the Ladies' Night League members and their guests in the RHCC ballroom for the "Under the Tuscan Sun" dance on Saturday night, August 12th. The dance begins at 8:00 PM. Dance the night away to your favorite tunes. Solar Eclipse - August 21st What better place to view the Solar Eclipse than at Rolling Hills Country Club. The pool will be open starting at 10 AM. Come early to get a good seat to watch the sun disappear behind the moon, turning daylight into twilight, causing the temperature to drop rapidly and revealing massive streamers of light streaking through the sky around the silhouette of the moon. You won't want to miss this unforgettable experience. The Snack Bar will feature Eclipse Specials -- Pizza by the Slice -- Burgers -- and More. Eclipse Begins Totality Begins Totality Ends Eclipse Ends 11:54 a.m. 01:22 p.m. 01:24 p.m. 02:49 p.m. Pickleball is growing leaps and bounds in Paducah. RHCC was a sponsor along with several others for Paducah's first fundraising pickleball tournament held at CCOP. The Merryman House benefited from the tournament. Three of our members played in the tournament including Michael Wilson, John Agee and Nancy Sutton. Nancy and her partner Dominic Catalano from Naples, FL. played in the Gold Medal Match and came home with the silver. Rick Sutton has donated $1000 toward converting the old tennis courts to dedicated pickleball courts. We are now charging $3.00 per guest to play along with Members. The money will be designated for the courts. Organized playing times are Monday and Tuesday evenings at 6 PM. In addition, RHCC Members are welcome to play at anytime.

6 Swimming Pool News School will be back in session starting August 9th. We will have lifeguards on duty at the pool each school day starting at 3:30 PM until closing. Lifeguards will also be on duty on the weekends. RHCC members may swim at their own risk during regular pool hours when lifeguards are not on duty, but an adult must be present. The Snack Bar will be open on Saturdays and Sundays only. We are excited to welcome these new members to our family here at Rolling Hills: Steve and Lindsay Croft Greg and Melissa Yates
