2 K C C G O L F R U L E S & ET I Q U E T T E Golfing privileges are for Golf Memberships only (i.e. Full Golf, Legacy Golf, Senior Golf, Intermediates I & II, Non-Resident Golf, Junior Golf, Executive Golf, Business Golf, and Special Golf). Golfing privileges are extended to spouse or significant other, and dependents defined as: children under age twenty-six (26) years, and single full-time students residing with said members. Social Members are allowed to play unlimited golf during the months of April, October and November. LOCAL RULES USGA Rules govern play except where modified as follows: 1. Winter Rules will be allowed only when posted. 2. Embedded ball rule is in effect. ETIQUETTE All groups, regardless of number of players, must hold their place on the course. Any group having a hole open ahead of them must let the group or individual behind play through. Players may start on #10 tee only with permission from the Golf Shop. All ball marks on greens must be repaired. (Note - An unrepaired ball mark will take 15 days to heal, but will take only 15 seconds to heal if repaired immediately). All divots must be replaced. (Note - A divot on the tee or fairway will take at least one month to heal if not replaced immediately, and may never heal. If replaced immediately, a divot will heal itself within 10 days). All sand traps must be raked. All rakes must be replaced at a 90 angle to the lip of the bunker. (Note - No one wants to play out of a footprint. All golfers should show consideration for fellow players by raking all traps after play). GENERAL INFORMATION Special events approved by the Board of Directors shall pre-empt normal golf schedules. One club care storage fee is mandatory for each Golf Membership. TEE-TIME RESERVATION POLICY 1. Tee-times may be made seven days in advance for all week days and week ends, or eight days in advance for holidays when a holiday falls on a Monday. 2. Tee-time reservations will be taken by the Golf Staff either in-person or by phone, but the Golf Staff will not begin taking reservations until the official Golf Shop opening time each day. 3. A maximum of two (2) tee-times may be reserved per member, spouse, significant other, or dependent per day. Hereby referred to as members. 4. At the time the tee-time reservation is made, the member, making the reservation will be asked to supply the names of each player in the group. 5. Members must make tee-time reservations each week themselves. The Golf Shop will not make standing reservations on behalf of members. 6. The Golf Staff will actively manage the first tee during busy periods to insure that groups tee off as close as possible to their scheduled tee times. Every attempt will be made to accommodate members without a tee-time reservation, but space will first need to exist on the tee sheet. 7. All members must either check-in with the Golf Shop or have a pre-arranged tee time prior to beginning play, thereby creating an entry on the tee-sheet for every round played. GUESTS Members must register their guests with the Golf Shop prior to play. A local guest is limited to playing at KCC five (5) times per year. Twilight Golf and special golf events do not count toward this limitation (Note: Also see Article XVI: Membership Authorized Policies, #4). Groups with guests must abide by the pace of play policy. In-Season Guest Fees: 18-holes - $ holes - $45.00 Juniors - $25.00

3 DRESS CODE Appropriate golf attire is required for all players, whether members or guests, at all times. No players will be allowed to wear denim on the golf course at any time. A description of proper attire will be posted prominently in the Men s and Women s Locker Rooms from time-to-time. Members are expected to insure that their guests and children adhere to these rules. Men: Shirts with collars and sleeves, slacks, golf shorts or walking shorts are considered proper attire. However, collarless shirts will be permitted if they are of the dress variety as determined by the Golf Shop. Tank tops, tee shirts, cut-offs, jams, sweat pants, bathing suits, tennis shorts or other athletic shorts are not permitted on the golf course at any time. Women: Skirts, slacks, golf shorts, mid-length shorts, and blouses are considered appropriate attire. Halter tops, tee shirts, bathing suits, sweatpants, tennis dresses, athletic shorts or cut-offs are not permitted on the golf course at any time. Shoes: Appropriate golf shoes or approved shoes are required on the golf course and practice areas. The Golf Shop must approve use of any shoes other than golf shoes prior to beginning play. (Note: Kenosha Country Club adheres to a spikeless shoe policy. Metal spikes are not allowed on the golf course at any time. Soft spikes are available in the Men s Locker Room for a nominal fee). SPEED OF PLAY The Kenosha Country Club golf course should easily be played in less than four hours. Any group that is on a pace to complete play in less than four hours, but that has at least one hole open in front of them, is obligated to let a faster group play through regardless of the number of players in either group. The Golf Shop will monitor the pace of play and warn groups delaying the play of others and appropriate action will be taken if such warnings are not heeded. Following are some tips on how to speed up play: On the Tee: Play ready golf and tee off as soon as the group in front is out of range. Have an extra ball available at all times (i.e. not in the bag or cart). Also, have a clean ball ready when it is time to hit. If a player is not ready to hit, another member of the group should be asked to hit so as not to delay play. On the Fairway: Club selection should be made as soon as possible after reaching the ball. Players should not wait until it is their turn to hit before selecting a club. After hitting, players should follow the flight of the ball closely until the ball stops rolling. The line of flight should be marked with some object, if it looks like the ball may be hard to find. Players are allowed only five minutes to look for a lost ball. If the group behind is waiting, they should be allowed to play through. When driving a cart, players should drive to their playing partner s ball first, and then to their own ball. On the Green (where most time is lost): Players should go directly to their ball; mark it; clean it; and then get out of the way while beginning to line up the putt. Players should be ready to play when it is their turn to putt. The player who has hit the approach shot closest to the hole should tend the flag for the others when there is not a caddie in the group. Short putts remaining after the first putt should be holed out rather than marked, except when standing in another player s line. From Tee to Green: Groups should not be afraid or ashamed to admit to playing too slowly, it sometimes can t be helped. However, groups must let faster players through if there is a hole open ahead. Players should be aware of their position on the course by looking behind as well as ahead. Carts and/or bags should always be left on side of the green nearest the next tee.

4 Players should refrain from marking scores while still on the green. Scores should only be marked on the next tee. Most importantly, players should always use common sense and remember to be considerate of other golfers at all times. TOURNAMENT RULES All members wishing to participate in tournament play must have an official USGA handicap index and must abide strictly by the USGA Handicap System. All 9 and 18-hole rounds conducted between April 1 and October 31, whether home or away, must be posted for handicap purposes. The Golf Shop will compare the tee sheet against scores posted on the WSGA Handicap Computer System and will report any irregularities to the Handicap Committee for follow-up action. The USGA Handicap System is based on honesty and integrity. Any member not abiding by the USGA Handicap System and the KCC Golf Rules & Etiquette procedures will be subject to suspension from tournament play. Junior members (i.e. members under 18 years of age) will be allowed to compete in the Club Championship, but only in the Championship Flight. If a junior member so elects to participate in the Club Championship, such junior member will not be eligible to participate in the Junior Club Championship. Junior members will not be permitted to participate in Certificate Holder events other than the Championship Flight of the Club Championship, without exception. Players who are not present for their assigned tee times, or who do not play their matches by imposed deadlines, will be deemed to have lost by default. GENERAL CARE OF THE GOLF COURSE Replace all divots on fairways and tees. Repair all ball marks found on the greens. Avoid making scuff or spike marks on the green. Never pull carts on tees or fringes of greens or between traps and greens. Rake all footprints and divots in traps. Playing more than 2 balls from any tee or to any green is not permitted at any time. HANDICAPS A member must have a USGA established handicap to be eligible to participate in Kenosha Country Club, NEWGA, Wisconsin State Golf Association and/or USGA events. Men and women golfers must register their scores and the applicable course rating in the Handicap Computer, located between the Men s and Women s Locker Rooms. These should be registered promptly upon the completion of each round. Members will immediately see the effect on their handicap. This immediate handicap is referred to as a trend handicap, and is only used for club play. The official handicap of each will be determined at two-week intervals throughout the season by the computerized system provided by the Wisconsin State Golf Association. All scores made during the season on rated golf courses must be posted and shall be included in the handicap computation. COURSE HOURS Monday Golf Course & Bag Room closed until 12:00pm, Bag room opens at 12:00pm (May - September) Tuesday Women only until 11:00am* (May 16 th - Sept 19 th ) Wednesday Men only 11:00am 2:30pm* (Memorial Day - Labor Day) Thursday Open Play Friday Juniors only until 12:00pm (June 16 th - Aug. 11 th ) Weekends Open Play *On Tuesday (Ladies Day) female children of Golf Members and on Wednesday (Men s Day) male children of Golf Members, can play with their parent during the Men s/ladies Day designated tee times, provided that the individual can keep up with the pace of play.

5 G OLF C A R T I N F O R M A T I O N Golf carts are not mandatory, but they are available for rental. The Golf Professional and Grounds Superintendent may decide to restrict the use of carts from time to time due to various conditions on the course, and all players must abide by such decisions for the health of the golf course. GENERAL RULES FOR GOLF CART USE All carts should be kept on paths where provided. No more than two bags and two riders are permitted. Carts must be kept away from tees and 30 feet from greens. Stalled carts should not be pushed by other carts. Cart operators are responsible for any damage to the carts or to the golf course. Any operator of a golf cart on KCC property must have a valid driver s license, without exception. RENTAL CARTS Carts may be reserved when arranging tee times. ALL players must ride in carts in Twilight Golf events. Cart Rates: 18-Holes 9-Holes Full (2 people) $ $ Half (1 person) $ $ HANDICAPPED GOLFERS POLCY Golfers with physical handicaps or disabilities may request permission to drive their cart closer to the green to enable them better access on our golf course. The procedure to receive approval is to submit your written request to the Board of Directors, through the Golf Committee. If approved by the Board of Directors, the applicant will have a red flag placed on their cart to designate them as having permission to take the golf cart within one cart length of all greens and tees. Areas marked NO CARTS ALLOWED must still be observed. PRIVATE CARTS No private carts may be purchased for operation on the KCC course. C A D D I E P R O G R A M The quality of the caddie program at the Kenosha Country Club ranks with distinction throughout the state of Wisconsin. Since 1922, KCC has provided its membership with area youth who have served admirably in our caddie program. Today, our membership includes former caddies who at one time looped our renowned Donald Ross golf course. We urge every member to use and enjoy the fine caddies that are available to you.
