1 GEORGIA STATE GOLF The school year and final exams are behind us and now we are waiting for the academic results with expectations of another stellar year in the classroom. Our competitive season ended with a terrific effort by the girls as they placed second in the Sun Belt Conference Championship and nearly pulled off an upset over Troy for the win. Our successes in the classroom and at the Sun Belt Conference Championship will provide us with positive momentum for the start of next year. We are all excited about what the future has in store for us. Stay tuned! With the conclusion of the school year, we must sadly say goodbye to seniors Jooeun Bae and Solene Le Coz. It truly seems like yesterday when they both arrived on campus as excited and somewhat nervous freshmen. Now they leave us confident and ready to take on the next chapter in their lives. Solene begins a summer internship with the PGA in June and will put her Finance/Accounting degree to use. Jooeun is working on staying in the U.S. to do an internship in the art world. Later, Jooeun would like to travel to various parts of the world as a professional photographer. We all are so excited for them and look forward to updates throughout the year. This year many of our past team members returned to campus for a visit. It was great to visit with Lisbeth Meincke (Inducted into the Georgia State University Athletic Hall of Fame), JeNae Riehlman, Sally Bishop, Maria Palacios, Melissa Siviter, Nicole (Wagner) Winfrey and Laura Sanchez. We are also thankful to interact with Lauren Court and Julie Lied periodically as they finish up their Master s program in Sports Management. Once a Panther, always a Panther! I want to take a moment to once again thank the many volunteers and supporters of our home tournament, the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate. I also want to personally thank Tyrone Burke from Georgia s Own Credit Union for sponsoring our player dinner and Don Barnette for sponsoring our Monday tournament lunch. In addition, I want to thank the Eagle s Landing Ladies Golf Association for their generous donation of all the tournament snacks. I am very thankful to the management and membership of Eagle s Landing Country Club for allowing us the opportunity to play our event on such a quality course. Our tournament was a huge success. Next year we hope to bring home a Panther victory! Coach Lauren Smith and I are already busy planning for the start of next season. We will be welcoming incoming freshmen Chloe Howard from England and Petra Duran from Spain. We are also busy finishing up our tournament schedule for next season as well as completing the ordering of uniforms and golf equipment. We hope to have our summer recruiting schedule completed within the week and then we may even fit in a little vacation time. Before we know it, we will be greeting two more excited and somewhat nervous freshmen! Thank you for your continued support of our Women s Golf Program. We work very hard to make you proud! 2 PANTHERS FINISH RUNNER-UP AT SUN BELT CHAMPIONSHIP With four golfers finishing among the top 12, the Georgia State women s golf team finished in secondplace at the Sun Belt Conference Championship at the RTJ-Fighting Joe Course on Wednesday. The Panthers shot a final round 6-over 294 to finish at 19-over par and just five strokes behind champion Troy. Georgia State shot three of its six-lowest rounds of the year during the three-day conference championship. The three rounds were also the three lowest rounds of the spring. Freshman Harmanprit Kaur recorded her team-leading sixth top 25 finish of the year, tying for seventh-place at 4-over par following a final round 72. Redshirt-sophomore Emily Royer tied with her fellow undergraduate in seventh following a final round 73. Sophomore Jemima Gregson added a final round 74 on Wednesday to tie for 12th at 6-over par with teammate Solene Le Coz. Le Coz, a senior playing in her final tournament, added a 3-over 75 in the final round a day after tying a career low with a 70. Senior Jooeun Bae rounded out the line-up by tying for 27th place at 13-over par following a final round 77. What an incredible week, head coach Cathy Mant said. We came in to the week knowing that the regular season did not go the way we wanted it to, but we could still make postseason play with a great week. I am so proud of this team because they played their best golf of the year and never gave up in the spring when things got tough. Today, we were just beaten by a very good Troy team and we tip our caps to them.

3 GREGSON AND KAUR EARN ALL-SUN BELT SECOND TEAM Georgia State sophomore Jemima Gregson and freshman Harmanprit Kaur were named to the All-Sun Belt Women s Golf Second Team at the annual banquet following the first round of the Sun Belt Championship. It marked the second-straight year that Gregson has earned second team honors, while Kaur earned the recognition in her first year at Georgia State. I m extremely proud of the way that both Jemima and Harmanprit have played this year, head coach Cathy Mant said. The future is so bright for both of them. I know this is just the start of what they have in store for us the next few years. From Bristol, England, Gregson has four top 25 finishes this year and a team-best scoring average entering the conference championship. She had a pair of seasonbest 18th place finishes at the Jacksonville Classic and Amelia Island Collegiate earlier this year. Kaur, from just outside of Atlanta in Lawrenceville, put together an impressive freshman campaign with five top 25 teams and a scoring average. Her collegiate career got off to a great start with a fifthplace finish to open the season at the Louisville Fall Kickoff, followed by a 12th place finish at the USA Intercollegiate.

4 HOWARD JOINS PANTHER Georgia State women s golf coach Cathy Mant announced the signing of highly-touted junior golfer Chloe Howard from Plymouth, England on Thursday to join the Panthers for the season. Howard, who plays to a +2 handicap, has represented the English Girls U16 team twice and will join a long line of English golfers to play at Georgia State. FAMILY We are excited to welcome Chloe to the Georgia State family, head coach Cathy Mant said. Chloe has shown that she can excel at the highest levels. She has a very solid all-around game that she has used to win many tournaments as a junior golfer. Howard was the Devon County Junior Champion in 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016, while also winning the Devon County Ladies Amateur Championship in 2013 and She was the British Universities Exeter Invitational Champion in 2014 and the Devon Schools Champion in 2014 and She also won the South West U18 Girls Championship in That same year, she qualified for the Daily Telegraph Junior World Championship in Portugal, finishing third. Howard becomes the second signee to join Georgia State this year. Petra Duran of Spain signed on to the program in November.

5 PANTHERS VISIT THE ALOHA STATE The Panthers made history when they traveled to the beautiful state of Hawaii over spring break by becoming the first women s golf team at Georgia State to do so. Hosted by the University of Hawaii, the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational is an elite field with teams traveling from all over the country to Kaneohe Klipper, a golf course situated on an active military base on Oahu. Four of the sixteen teams competing were ranked in the Top 25. We were very fortunate that Head Coach Cathy Mant who resided in Hawaii for five years, was our personal tour guide for the week. We rented a house in Kaneohe Bay and the views were absolutely spectacular. The team had the opportunity to visit the Polynesian Cultural Center near the North Shore where we were treated to an amazing show, Ha: Breath of Life. The show featured over 100 Polynesian natives and was a must see event. It was the first time any member of the team traveled to Hawaii and the memories will last for a lifetime. Thanks to everyone who made this trip possible!

6 Seniors Take Next Step After four years of competing for the Georgia State Panthers, seniors Jooeun Bae and Solene Le Coz will be walking across the stage on May 8th and receiving their diplomas for their academic excellence. Both Bae and Le Coz have exciting opportunities ahead. Bae looks forward to traveling the world and connecting with photographers from all spectrums of work. Jooeun is also looking into returning to the states at some point to work with her art degree. Le Coz will take a route more connected to the game of golf, as she will be one of a very few selected interns at the PGA Tour. Solene will be working closely with the business department in hopes that this 10 week internship will lead to future opportunities in the financial world. We wish these two nothing but the best and are so appreciative of their dedication to the Georgia State Women s Golf Team the past four years. Good luck girls, you better keep in touch!
