1 2016 Registration Please read the following information very carefully because it is imperative that the rules and regulations of the are followed. Purpose: The was created to provide a competitive environment for junior golfers, years of age, to learn good sportsmanship and the enjoyment of playing with their fellow golfers. This tour is intended for players of moderate to experienced playing ability looking to improve their competitive skills, for future play. General Information: is for children ages as of June 1 st, 2016 The Early Registration Fee for the St. Joseph County is $ ALL registrations for the are to be returned by mail ONLY. The Postmark on the envelopes will determine the cutoff in each group. No refunds will be given after the first event except for the situation discussed below. ALL golfers are required to complete an open book rules and etiquette test and submit it for approval at the first event in which the player competes. Each participant will receive a confirmation notice stating whether or not the Parent AND Child are required to attend the MANDATORY Rules and Etiquette Meeting. Rules and Etiquette Meetings are at 7:00pm at Pinhook Pavilion on Wed. June 1 st and Tues. June 7 th. Pinhook Pavilion is located south of Cleveland Rd. at 2801 Riverside Dr. (south of the water treatment facility). Failure to attend one of the meetings (if required to do so) will disqualify your child from playing the 2016 season. Please answer the following questions to determine whether attendance is required at the etiquette meetings: 1. You are under the age of 12? Correct Incorrect 2. You did not play the or a state level tour in both 2014 and 2015 Correct Incorrect 3. You have been subject to disciplinary actions in the past while playing the (BE HONEST!) Correct Incorrect If you answered Correct to any question, you MUST attend the Rules and Etiquette Meeting Tee Time Schedule will be posted on the website: The exact tee time for your child will be posted but times will be subject to minor changes on the day of play. Times are posted at least a week in advance. Players should arrive a minimum of 15 min. before their scheduled tee time. PLAYERS WHO ARRIVE LATER THAN THE ASSIGNED AGE GROUP TIME SLOT FORFEIT THE RIGHT TO COMPETE IN THE EVENT.

Average Scoring Standards are as follows: Boys (9 holes) 70 Boys (9 holes) 65 Boys (18 holes) 110 Boys (18 holes) 100 Girls (9 holes) 80 Girls (18 holes) 125 Any Child who cannot score near these standards should not sign up for this Tour. There are other programs available that are more suited for children with less golf experience. If after 3 events, a child has not been able to score within the scoring standards, the child may be disqualified (at the discretion of the committee) from the remaining events and will be given a refund of $30. August 25 th 6:30 pm *** This event will be a 7am shotgun start (i.e. everyone starts at the same time on a different hole). If you are late you will not be able to play. Points System for Year End Awards Points will be awarded for each event as followed: 1 st Place 90 pts. 6 th Place 25 pts. 2 nd Place 70 pts. 7 th Place 20 pts. 3 rd Place 55 pts. 8 th Place 15 pts. 4 th Place 40 pts. 9 th Place 12 pts. 5 th Place 30 pts. 10 th Place 10 pts. All ties for 10 th Place will be given the entire ten points. The Champion for each age group at the end of the year will be determined by a total of each player s 5 Best Finishes. If there is a tie for the Champion in any age group, all attempts will be made to have a playoff to determine a winner.

3 Player Responsibilities It is the obligation of every player to know and follow the USGA Rules of Golf. Participants are expected to know the basic rules of the game and follow appropriate golf etiquette at all times. Participants must notify the Tour at least 48 hrs prior to an event if they are not going to play in that event. There is also a space on the registration form to indicate events in which they will not be competing. Failure to give notice (no shows) will result in suspension from the next event in which the player is entered (meaning they will not receive any points they may earn in the next event they play in). Exceptions will be made for emergencies but notice must be given ASAP. Any intentional damage, club throwing, cheating, swearing, or any unsportsmanlike behavior, at any time, will result in severe disciplinary actions to be determined by the committee. Actions could include disqualification, suspension and/or expulsion from the Tour for the rest of the season and possibly the next. No warnings will be given. Please treat the course with respect and take care of it while you are playing: o Always rake sand traps, fix ball marks, replace divots, and replace the flagstick without damaging the edge of the hole. o Golf bags and pull carts should never be taken onto the greens. o There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to make divots in greens, bury clubs in a fairway or green or damage any part of the golf course. NO EXCUSES WILL BE ACCEPTED. Soft Spikes are required for players who intend to wear golf shoes. NO Metal Spikes. Proper golf attire (collared shirt, mock turtleneck) is required. No blue jeans, cutoffs, or t-shirts! If you withdraw from an event, you must check out and turn a card in at the scoring table before leaving the premises. Withdrawing for non-medical reasons will not be excused and could result in suspension from the next event entered. During play, if there is any question of procedure or rules, play the original ball and then a second ball from the spot in question, without penalty. You must declare your intention before playing the second ball. At completion of the round, report the rules question to the committee for a ruling BEFORE YOU SIGN YOUR SCORECARD. If a player witnesses another player in violation of the rules, it should be questioned immediately. All disputes should be resolved prior to teeing off on the next hole. If both players still disagree, report dispute to rules committee at completion of round and BEFORE YOU SIGN YOUR SCORECARD. Record each player s score after each hole is completed. Every player is responsible for verifying his/her own score for each hole on a scorecard. He/she will not be penalized if there is a mistake in the addition of the total score. Before signing the scorecard, the player needs to carefully check each hole and make sure the scores are correct. Upon completion of your round, you must report directly to the scorer s table. Cell Phones are not to be turned on during a competitive round. They may be used in and around the clubhouse at the turn or after you have completed your round. Player should not instigate rules infractions upon other players. If this happens, both players will be penalized. Play ready golf Be ready to hit when it is your turn. It should take no more than 2 hours to play 9 holes. In case of lightning, mark your ball with a tee and go to shelter immediately. You are only allowed 5 minutes when looking for a lost ball. Please yell FORE whenever your ball goes toward any person playing or watching.

4 Parent / Volunteer Responsibilities The is a golf program that puts the participant into a competitive atmosphere. It is not a program that teaches a child to play golf, nor is it a babysitting service. Parents will be required to volunteer for at least 2 events for the first child playing on the tour and one additional event for each additional child. A parental substitute may take their place at the event as long as the substitute is 18 years of age or older. Registration forms will not be accepted without providing volunteer dates, the date of the rules and etiquette meeting (if applicable) indicated, and all three required signatures (Parent, Child, and Golf Coach/Golf Professional). On the parent s volunteer day, parents will not be allowed to walk with their own child. Failure to fulfill your volunteer obligations by season s end will make your child ineligible for the season ending prizes and could jeopardize your child s future with the. Even though we send out reminder postcards, it is your responsibility to know if you have fulfilled your volunteer commitment. Spectator/ Volunteer/ Parent Carts are NOT PROVIDED. If you are interested in RENTING a spectator cart, you must check with each golf course and inquire about their policies and fees. The has no authority over the HOSTING golf courses policies. Any carts given to Tour Committee members are for committee use only and are for the purpose of running the event. Due to the number of events, we are always in need of volunteers. If you are available to volunteer at more events then you are required, please note it on your registration or let us know at an event. Parent / Volunteer DO S & DON T S: DO help players look up rules in the rulebook DON T make any RULINGS for the group in question DO help players search for lost golf balls DON T give players ADVICE (what club to hit, what type shot to hit & how to hit it) DO hold water bottles, clothes, or rain suits for players DON T carry the player s clubs or bag DO talk to the players, but keep it to a minimum DON T talk on your Cell Phone while on the golf course DO help keep the golf course clean and neat DON T let any player get away with damaging the course. DO help each player/group play as fast as the group ahead of them. This will keep play moving. The children only benefit when more parents volunteer and help make the experience fun and memorable for all of the children involved. Every bit of help is appreciated.
