1 EUROPEAN SENIOR TOUR QUALIFYING SCHOOL 2016 FINALS Monday 1 st Thursday 4 th February 2016 EXEMPT PLAYER INFORMATION 1. Introduction Welcome to the Final of the 2016 European Senior Tour Qualifying School at Vale de Pinta from Monday 1 st Thursday 4 th February. Conditions A field of 60 competitors will play 54 holes, after which only those players within 8 shots of the final qualifying place will go forward to contest the final round. Friday 5 th February may be used as a full playing day in the event of any weather delays and competitors should take note of this when making their travel plans. Players finishing in positions 1-5 at the European Senior Tour Qualifying School Finals will be eligible for Ranked Membership of the European Senior Tour. 3. Format of the Week Official Practice Days: Saturday 30 th January and Sunday 31 st January from 09:00 to 13:00 from the 1 st tee only. Call Tournament Office on to reserve times. Page 1 of 5

2 Practice Range: is located within the David Leadbetter Academy a short distance away from the Clubhouse and provides a chipping green and practice bunker and club storage facilities. It will be open Saturday 30 th January to Thursday 4 th February from 07: (12.00 noon on Thurs 4 th February). Official Tournament Days: Monday 1 st to Thursday 4 th February from 09:00 10:30 daily, three (3) ball format at 10 minute intervals. Two tee start off the 1 st & 10 th tees (previous competitors at Vale de Pinta please note that the 1 st and 10 th tees are the usual 3 rd and 12 th tees respectively and signposted accordingly). Daily Draw and Drawsheets: will be available from the Tournament Office and host hotel. 4. Offices and Registration The Tournament office is located in the Sales Office to the right hand side as you enter the Vale de Pinta Clubhouse and Media Centre adjacent. Contact numbers are:- Tournament Office / Media Centre: Tel: or 444/ Fax: Players are expected to register between 12:00 on Thursday 28 th to 18:00 on Saturday 30 th January. This may be done in person at the Vale de Pinta Tournament office or by telephone to the European Tour office at Wentworth, telephone + 44 (0) or + 44 (0) Withdrawals All withdrawals must be notified to the European Senior Tour Entries Department. If a player withdraws, without competing, he will be refunded 700 or 960 only. (NB: No exceptions). If a player is absent on the tee without notification, NO refund will be given and he may face disciplinary action subject to circumstances. Once an entrant had teed off in either Stage 1 or the Finals, refund of entry is not possible under any circumstances. Page 2 of 5

3 6. Catering Clubhouse from 07:00 to 19:00 daily. Lunch will be provided for players only free of charge on tournament days, wristband accreditation will be provided via the Tournament Office. Additional lunches for family/friends available at per person daily. 7. Shuttle Buses A shuttle bus service will operate between the David Leadbetter Academy, main Clubhouse and 10 th tee on Tournament Days at relevant times. A shuttle will also operate between the 16 th green and 17 th tee. 8. Caddies & Trolleys Caddie availability is limited and competitors requiring a caddie may book online at estqs@pestana.com as early as possible. Cost will be 50 per round + tip. Players may also reserve an electric trolley subject to availability at 20 booked in advance. 9. Medical There is a Doctor on call, who can be contacted via the Tournament Office. Red Cross personnel will be onsite during tournament days. The nearest hospital is in Portimao (15 minutes from Course). Physiotherapist will be onsite from Saturday 30 th January free of charge to players. 10. European Senior Tour Rules All European Tour rules apply. A full list of Rules and Regulations will be available on the 1 st tee or from the Tournament office. Competitors are specifically asked to note: a) One ball rule is applicable. b) Prohibitions on practice putting. c) Play suspensions in a dangerous situation requires an immediate stop. d) Pace of play please refer to the policy attached. e) Rule 4-1/1 Groove and Punch Mark specification will be in operation. f) Laser Distance Measuring Devises may be used during the event but they must measure distance only. Accommodation The two Official Hotels for Gramacho and Silves are: Pestana Dom João II, Praia dos Três Irmãos, Alvor Pestana Alvor South Beach, Praia de Alvor Alvor Rates are as follows: Pestana Dom João II Single : 34,00 Single Sea View : 45,60 Twin : 40,00 Double Sea View : 51,20 Pestana Alvor South Beach Single Pool View: 44,00 Single Sup Pool View: 51,20 Double Pool View: 50,00 Double Sup Pool View: 57,00 Double Sea View: 64,00 Prices are per room, per night for accommodation and breakfast. Bookings made by 24th December 2015 will qualify for a discount of 10% and a further 10% will apply to the net amount for those staying for 7 or more nights.
