2 2017 Shawnee County Junior Golf Summer Program Program Information: Our summer program consists of (6) 50-minute classes which covers all aspects of the game. Instruction covers how to properly hit woods, irons, along with chipping and putting. Class will cover rules, etiquette as well as learning proper practice techniques. Students will have the option to pick one or multiple sessions which may be spread out between Cypress Ridge, Forbes, and Lake Shawnee Golf Course. Each student will receive a complimentary gift bag (dozen Callaway golf balls, drawstring backpack, divot tool, tees, ball marker, and driving range discount card) on day 1 of camp. Along with (6) 50-minute classes of instruction, gift bag, students will have the opportunity to play free golf during our free play dates (details on next page). 6 2017 INFORMATION ELIGIBILITY Open to junior golfers ages 17 and under who live in Topeka or surrounding counties. (i.e. Jackson, Lyon, Douglas, etc.) DRESS Players must be properly attired at all times both on the golf course and in public rooms of hosting course. Jean shorts, tee shirts and tank tops are prohibited; shorts must be at least mid-thigh. This dress code will be used at all TJGA tournaments and qualifying rounds. All players will also adhere to any dress codes of the hosting course. Contestants will comply with the golf soft spike policy in effect at the host course. THRIVENT FINANCIAL CITY JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP Two-day annual event that showcases the top talent in the City. 1 st round -Cypress Ridge G.C. & 2 nd round- Lake Shawnee G.C. PLAYER OF THE YEAR The TJGA will be honoring two players this year that show his/her golfing excellence by attaining the highest point total through the current summer series. RAIN OUT POLICY If a tournament is rained out and rescheduled, the rescheduled tournament date will complete the event. If you are unable to participate it will be assumed that you have withdrawn from the event during the event. The status of a tournament that is partially rained out will be determined at the discretion of the tournament committee. REFUNDS The TJGA s policy is no refunds except for sickness or extenuating circumstances. To withdraw notify the TJGA at the address provided or call the participating course. NO REFUNDS will be made to player that withdraws less than 48 hours prior to the start of the event.
