2 Dear Friends and Partners, It is my great pleasure to invite you to our 10th Annual EMBERS Charity Golf Tournament presented by Darwin Construction on July 12, 2018 at Tsawwassen Springs Golf Course. For the past 10 years, we have gathered together with supporters like you to celebrate partnerships and raise funds for EMBERS lifechanging economic and employment programs. Over the years, our golf tournaments have collectively raised a total of $400,000! As our only annual fundraising event, we are extremely grateful for your support. Back in 2001, EMBERS was founded as a charitable organization with a vision to create economic and employment opportunities for people living on low incomes. Now, EMBERS helps thousands of people each year access work opportunities, training and support through our four main initiatives: EMBERS Staffing Solutions, an award-winning not for profit staffing agency, connects companies with high quality workers in construction, warehousing, events and admin jobs. EMBERS Training Group, a non-profit certified training institute, offers entry level to advanced certification in the logistics and construction industries. EMBERS Ventures provides accessible and affordable business training and support services to low-income entrepreneurs looking to start a small business or expand an existing one. EMBER Eastside Works, opening Spring 2018, helps people in the Downtown Eastside make connections to the world of work, earn income, and improve their livelihoods. With each of these programs, we change our community through the power of work, helping people build stronger, healthier lives and become financially self-sufficient. In the past year alone, EMBERS Staffing Solutions employed 1,900 workers, EMBERS Ventures helped 50 local entrepreneurs grow their businesses, and EMBERS Training Group helped over 190 people earn certified, vocational certificates.
