4 Men s League By-Laws Mission Statement Grey Rock Golf Club Men s League exists to promote camaraderie among golf enthusiasts through golf competitions, related events and charitable golf interests. Section 1- Membership Membership to the Men s League is open to all willing participants who are either golf members at Grey Rock Golf Club or paid Men s League members without regard to race or religion. Membership in the Men s League may be terminated at the discretion of Grey Rock Golf Club management based on inappropriate conduct or lack of fulfilling financial obligations. Men s League membership will adhere to the conduct, policies and procedures of Grey Rock Golf Club.

5 Section 4 Handicap Determination The Men s League will have a handicap policy for all Men s League events. All players must have an established USGA GHIN Handicap that will be used to determine a handicap for Men s League Events. The GHIN Handicaps will be updated twice per month as of The Handicap Committee will monitor performance and have the authority to adjust handicaps down based on an established, objective variation standard versus the player s handicap. The Player has the right to see the quantifiable measurements used in any handicap adjustments. The variation standard will be the same for all players. In the event a player does not have an established GHIN Handicap he will be required to seek the staff of the Men s League Advisory to determine his starting handicap based on reasonable information. The player will be subject to adjustments by the staff based on reasonable information until the player has established a USGA GHIN handicap. The intent of the staff will be to protect the field and the player until the GHIN Handicap has been established. Any Member of the Men s League that does not have his Amateur status by definition of the USGA will play by the rules of the Men s League handicaps and have no more than a 0 handicap. Amateurs that have a plus handicap will play to the plus handicap.

6 Section 4A Eligibility Players must have at least 10 scores (9 hole rounds count) posted in the calendar year to be eligible for Major events. Major Events include the Member-Member, The Grey Rock Cup, The Club Championship and The Member-Guest. Players must have at least 4 scores posted (9-hole rounds count) 2 months prior to the final posting prior to a major championship. Players may appeal to the Handicap Committee for participation in extenuating circumstances and the Committee may allow participation based on reasonable facts. The maximum course handicap for any Men s League event is 22. Section 5 Changes These By-Laws may be changed periodically with the approval of the General Manager of the Club and 4 members of the Advisory Board. Section 6 Payouts All payouts must be picked up prior to the end of the current day s event. If in the event you do not pick up your winnings by the end of that night, a proshop attendant will place the winnings into a credit book on your account. The credit may be used towards Merchandise items, Food & Beverage items or Golf Service items.

7 Men's League Scoring For each event, there will be four gross spots paid and four net spots paid. The first position on the board that is determined is first gross, followed by first net, second gross, second net, third gross, third net, fourth gross, fourth net. A player cannot win more than one spot in a payout field. If an event is net only, the committee will pay the top six players. All players will receive points based on how they finish against the number of players in the field. Ties will be determined by scorecard playoff. The Scorecard Playoff will start at the lowest handicap hole on the side of the course played in a 9-hole event and the lowest handicap hole on the course for an 18 hole event. The Committee may modify tie breakers for certain events. Any modifications will be posted prior to the start of such event. Point System Purpose: The Point System is a season long competition to determine the top ten players in both the gross and net divisions. The players in the top ten will play in a Shoot-Out at the end of the year. If a player qualifies for both gross and net division, the player must play in the shootout where he qualified closest to the top. If he qualifies equally in both Gross and Net Division the player will play in the Gross division. A player may not play in both shootouts.

8 Points Distribution: Points will be allotted based on the number of participants in the field. Each player will earn (2) Points for participating in each nightly competition. The points per competition will be rewarded as follows: 1 st Place: 10 points 2 nd Place: 9 points 3 rd Place: 8 points 4 th Place: 7 points 5 th Place: 6 points 6 th Place: 5 points 7 th Place: 4 Points 8 th Place: 3 points 9 th Place: 2 points 10 th Place: 1 point If in the event there is a tie for one of the 1-10 spots, the players tied for that spot will be rewarded the points for that spot. If there is a tie for the 10 th position, the players tied for that spot will be rewarded the 1 point even if they are outside the top 1-10.

9 Grey Rock Men s League Rules of Play All USGA Rules of Golf will apply with the exception of the following local rules. On Wednesday events, all scorecards must be turned in within two and half hours of tee off. A player may take relief from an imbedded rock that is deemed to potentially cause injury to the player or damage his club Maximum score will be double par (net). Men s League Tees: Blue Tees (unless informed otherwise) Electronic range finders that measure distance only will be permitted. In stroke play all putts must be holed out. In match play your opponent may concede a putt. The maximum handicap a player may have is 22 strokes for 18 holes or 11 for 9 holes. The Staff will post all post-able scores for all Men s League Events. Any questions about score posting should be brought to the staff. Disputed handicaps must be resolved before the start of an event. A player should give the staff at least 48 hour notice prior to a competition to resolve a dispute. If a player has a question about a rule, he should play 2 balls and inquire to the rules committee after the round. The rules committee members are: Brian Cresto, Max Kleinman & Joe Gowdy.

10 Wednesday Events Every Wednesday we will have a 9-hole event. This is a great social event to come out and meet all of the guys, and still play some competitive golf. We have both gross and net prizes, with contest holes on the course for a little extra excitement. After play we all meet in the Biergarten for scoring, prizes, and a little food and drink. If you are looking to hang out, there is always a game going on at the washer pits. Format: Changes weekly Tees: Blue (Unless otherwise notified) Entry Fee: $10 which is paid out at the end of the round. 11 The Ole Buddy Member/ Member May 30 th -31 st 2015 (Major Event) This tournament is always a Member favorite. It brings old and new friends together for the first Major of the year. Format: Kickoff party Friday evening (start time TBD) Day 1: 9-holes Shamble, 9-holes Best Ball, 9-holes Alternate Shot Day 2: 9-holes Best Ball, 9-holes Combined Ball Tees: Blue Entry Fee: TBD Includes: 45- hole golf tournament, tee prize, dinner on Sunday, keg of beer, and prizes for contest holes.

12 Match Play Championship June 6 th 2015 (Club Event) One of our most competitive events throughout the year. This event will show the strongest player among the field who is able to withstand a mano e mano golf battle. Format: Traditional Match Play Format Round One: June 6 th (All Competitor Shotgun) Tees: Blue Entry Fee: TBD.

13 Grey Rock Cup June 20 th -21 st 2015 (Major Event) The Grey Rock Cup is the most anticipated tournament of the year. This is a Ryder Cup style tournament matching the Gold team versus the Blue team. 14 Men s League Stroke Play Championship August 22 nd and 23 rd 2015 (Major Event) The Club Championship is a true test of your ability. With no partner to lean on, this competition will challenge every player in the field. This tournament decides the best golfer in the Grey Rock Men s League. Format: 36-holes stroke play championship from the blue tees. Entry Fee: TBD Includes: 36-holes of golf, keg of beer after each round, dinner on Sunday, tee prize

15 Fall Fest Member/Guest October 16 th -18 th 2015 (Major Event) The Member/Guest took on a new format in 2007, a 45-hole flighted team match play. Each team will be will be put in a flight with five other teams, in which each team will play each other. The winner of each flight will advance to a shootout, which will determine the winner of the tournament. Format: TBD Tees: Blue Entry Fee: TBD Includes: 45-holes of golf, tee prize, dinner on Sunday, keg of beer, and prizes for contest holes

16 End of the Year Shootout Wednesday October 28 th, 2015 The Shootout is the final event of the Men s League season. This event rewards the top players from the gross and net points list.
