CONDITIONS OF ENTRY a) Status f Players: Entries will be accepted frm junir players wh: Cnfrm in all respects t the current Amateur Status f the R&A; and Brn nt befre 1 st January Participants in the Birdie Grup must be active members f a recgnised glf club and shuld prduce prf f their exact Club handicap nt later than at registratin n the first day f the cmpetitin. The Organising Cmmittee reserves the right t cnfirm the date f birth f the players at any time befre r during the turnament. b) Entry Fee: The entry fee is 10 and includes the prize giving receptin. c) Handicap Categries: Birdie Grup: Bys and girls wh pssess a valid CLUB HANDICAP exact handicap f ver 28.4 and ver 36.4 fr girls up t a maximum f Par Grup: Bys and girls wh d nt pssess a valid CLUB HANDICAP and t whm the Organising Cmmittee will allcate a handicap f The Organising Cmmittee reserves the right t enter an individual int a different turnament categry than the player has entered and disqualify any cmpetitr making a false statement n the entry frm. 2. FORM OF PLAY a) The cmpetitin will be played in an individual Stablefrd strke play frmat in a neday event at the RMGC ver 9 measured hles fr the Birdie Grup and ver 6 measured hles fr the Par Grup. b) The Birdie Grup players will play frm the range tees. The Par Grup players will play frm the blue tees. c) The players with the highest Stablefrd scres in the subsidiary cmpetitins will be declared winners f their respective divisins. In the event f a tie, a cunt-back prcedure will be applied t decide the result taking in cnsideratin the best scre f the last 6, 3, 2 and 1 hles respectively. 3. GENERAL CONDITIONS a) The cmpetitin shall be played in accrdance with the Rules f Glf as apprved by R&A Rules Limited and with the apprved Lcal Rules fr the Ryal Malta Glf Club (RMGC) curse. b) The Organising Cmmittee will reserve the right t fix and/r alter the Cmpetitin's Cnditins and/r Starting Times. Starting times will be published n the Malta Glf Assciatin (MGA) website ( They will als be available at the registratin desk and psted n the Champinship s Ntice Bard at the RMGC.

3 c) Cmpetitin registratin is mandatry and will take place at the Glf Shp at the Ryal Malta Glf Club n the mrning f the event. Players are reminded that they must cmplete the cmpetitin registratin and cllect their screcards n arrival at the RMGC at least 15 minutes befre their starting time. d) A raming referee will be available n the curse during the cmpetitin but the Champinship Officials will be the final arbiter f all n and ff curse disputes. A player, in dubt f a prcedure, will be advised t play a secnd ball accrding t Rule 3-3 f the Rules f Glf. e) Dress cde: Sft spikes will be bligatry fr players. If nt respected, access t the glf curse will be denied. Nrmal and apprpriate glf attire will be required n the curse. Denim jeans will nt allwed under any circumstances. f) Electrnic equipment: The use f mbile phnes fr cmmunicatin and similar electrnic devices (radis, MP3 players, pagers, etc) by a player while n the glf curse during a stipulated rund is cnsidered distracting and incnsiderate. If any player is in pssessin f such a device it shuld be turned ff r silenced befre cmmencement f play. Any use f such device will result in the Organising Cmmittee taking disciplinary actin against the ffending persn(s) in accrdance with the cncluding paragraph f Sectin 1 f the Rules f Glf (Etiquette). Primarily this wuld mean the player being prhibited frm playing in the next cmpetitin rganised by the RMGC and r the MGA and, if the ffence is persistent r very disturbing t thers, in a penalty f disqualificatin f the player being impsed under Rule A mbile phne may exceptinally be used in case f emergency (fr medical reasns) r danger (e.g. lightning). Disclaimer: On entering the cmpetitin, players agree that there are certain risks inherent in the game f glf and accept persnal liability fr all such risks. 4. CONDITIONS OF PLAY a) Time f Starting: If a player arrives at his starting pint, ready t play, within five minutes after his starting time, in the absence f circumstances which warrant waving the penalty f disqualificatin as prvided in Rule 33-7, the penalty fr failure t start n time is tw strkes at the first hle. b) Caddies: A player is prhibited frm having a caddie during a stipulated rund. Penalty fr breach f this cnditin is tw strkes fr each hle at which any breach ccurred; maximum penalty per rund fur strkes. A player having a caddie in breach f this cnditin must immediately upn discvery that a breach has ccurred ensure that he cnfrms t this cnditin fr the remainder f the stipulated rund. Otherwise the player is disqualified. Advice is als prhibited t be received frm relatives; friends etc. fllwing the players during the runds. c) Practice: Rule 7-1b f the Rules f Glf applies and therefre practice, n the cmpetitin curse r testing the surface f any putting green, befre a rund n the days f the cmpetitin is prhibited. Penalty fr breach f this cnditin: disqualificatin. d) Trlleys & Buggies: Electric r manual trlleys may be used but shuld nt be taken nt tees r greens. This a walking cmpetitin and the nrmal use f glf buggies is prhibited. Penalty fr breach f this cnditin: disqualificatin. In exceptinal medical circumstances, the Organising Cmmittee may, at its discretin, grant exemptin fr a buggy t be used. The cmpetitr wuld need t submit a medical certificate stating the relevant medical cnditin. In the event f a strke and distance penalty, the raming referee can decide t grant a player a lift n the glf buggy t speed up play.

4 e) Artificial Devices & Unusual Equipment: Players are allwed t use devices that nly measure r gauge distance. f) Driving Clubs: The driver the cmpetitr carries must have a club-head, identified by mdel and lft, which is named n the current List f Cnfrming Driver Heads issued by R&A Rules Limited. Nte: Any individual driver n the List, if tested n pendulum testing apparatus apprved by R&A Rules Limited, must nt have a characteristic time greater than 257 micrsecnds Penalty fr breach f this cnditin: disqualificatin. g) Suspensin f Play: Please see separate sheet. h) Pace f Play: The pace f play may be mnitred and slw play may be penalized at the discretin f the Champinship Officials. i) Returning a Screcard: Fllwing each f the strke play runds, players must return their screcards t an area designated by the Organising Cmmittee. A player s screcard is deemed fficially returned when it has been recrded in the designated area/turnament ffice. j) Clse f a Cmpetitin: Any dispute r dubtful pint n the Rules must be referred t the Champinship Officials as sn as pssible and befre the cnclusin f play. The Cmpetitin will be deemed clsed nce the result is fficially annunced at the end f the cmpetitin. 5. PRIZES AND PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY Fur mement prizes will be presented as fllws: Overall best Stablefrd scre in Birdie Grup 2 nd best Stablefrd scre in Birdie Grup Overall best Stablefrd scre in Par Grup 2 nd best Stablefrd scre in Par Grup All prize winners are expected t attend the prize presentatin, which will take place fllwing the last rund f the cmpetitin. N prize will be awarded t any cmpetitr wh is absent frm the prize presentatin unless there are very exceptinal circumstances and the Organising Cmmittee is s advised. 6. CHAMPIONSHIP OFFICIALS The authrised fficials fr disputes and dubtful pints are Nigel Hall and William Beck. The decisin f these fficials, n any matter relating t the Rules f Glf r these Cnditins, shall be final and there shall be n right f appeal. N ther club member r fficial will give a decisin n a rule matter unless he has been authrised by the Organising Cmmittee t give such decisins in its name.

Tday at par 68, the curse is a gd challenge fr the mre experienced, withut being unkind t the nvice. The apparent simplicity f the curse is deceptive as it is narrw demanding accuracy ff the tee and cntrlled apprach shts as the greens are small and well bunkered. Depending n the seasn, there is nt much water n the curse but a few strategically placed water hazards lie in wait. (
