1 CELEBRATING 27 YEARS OF SINGLES GOLF IN AMERICA Orlando Chapter American Singles Golf Association November 2018 From the President Smashing! It's been a few weeks and we're still getting praise and thanks from Florida Chapter members for hosting the Florida Cup at the prestigious Omni/ChampionsGate Resort. My thanks go to all in the Orlando Chapter and Board Members who attended. Kudos go to our Board members who worked enthusiastically before and during the event to ensure all ran smoothly for our 110 guests. Congratulations and honor of holding The Cup for a year goes to Jacksonville, who won for the second year in a row! Tampa was second and Orlando was a respectable third. It was so much fun! Tampa will host The Cup next year and is already looking for a great resort in their area. One of our goals this year was to enhance our member experience, and I think we've done that. On that note, it's time for Board elections which means it's also time for your feedback of what you'd like to continue or change and to express your interest in running for a position. Be looking for further information on this and our upcoming activities. We value your membership. ~Carolyn Aldorfer Social Chair We have recovered from the Florida Cup fun (almost!) and it's time for another unique happy hour location! We will gather near the end of the month, on Thursday, Nov. 29, from 5 to 7 pm. Our gathering spot will be The Attic Door, at 28 W. Plant Street, Winter Garden, FL The Attic Door features $2 off all wine by the glass, $1 off select brews, yummy happy hour dips, and other specials. Beginning at 7 pm, there is live acoustic music. We hope you'll make plans to be there. Look for the Evite soon. ~Virginia Borchert Membership Chair Thanks to everyone who attended the Florida Cup. We all had a great time and the venue was awesome. Welcome to November! We are going to have a great month. We competed in the Florida Cup in October. 110 golfers came from all over Florida to compete. Your local chapter hosted the event and everyone walked away having had a great time. I m proud having helped with securing the site and the amenities. The Omni wanted us and provided with a great host hotel and 2 great courses. I m very happy with our team effort. Upcoming MultiChapter Events (see SinglesGolf.com/events) Cabo San Lucas Late February or Early March, We're looking at staying 67 days, playing 34 rounds of golf and exploring what the area has to offer. In addition, I hereby expressly assume all risks of injury, death, property loss, property damage, and other loss and damage which my occur relative to the participation in and/or observance of such activities.
