Kajiya was injured, Stewards permitted the following riding substitutions: Race 1 Race 3 Race 5 Race 6 Race 7 App J Richards On Elunor Rigby App A Sweeney on Rosie s Ready App L German on Uber Cougar App A Sweeney on Tracey s Daisey App A Sweeney on Frenze Hall RACE 1: Maiden Plate 1600m: Riverbend Chief- Hung out when racing keenly passing the 1400m. Raced wide throughout. Shifted out under pressure in the straight. When questioned regarding today s apparent improved performance, Trainer T Sutherland advised that the gelding appreciated today s step up in distance and the favourable barrier draw. He added in his opinion the gelding is suited on a soft racing surface which it found today. Something Unknown- Change of tactics- to be ridden further back with cover if circumstances permit; sat outside lead and over raced. Belchamp- Carried wider near the 1200m. Elunor Rigby- Apprentice J Richards was dislodged during the preliminary and was uninjured. The mare was examined by the club s veterinary officer and was passed fit to start. Near the 1200m shifted out away from the heels of Something Unknown carrying Belchamp wider. Missy Moo Cow- Slow to begin. When questioned Apprentice R Prest stated that she anticipated settling in a forward position however after beginning only fairly she was obliged to settle further back than she would have hoped. She added her mount responded only fairly in the straight and in her opinion, did not appreciated today s soft track surface. A post-race The Script- Change of tactics- to be ridden more forward; led Tuskegee Commander- From a wide barrier was taken back behind runners to obtain cover.

2 RACE 2: Maiden Handicap 1175m: Shoplifter- Approaching the 200m was steadied and taken in to avoid the heels of Let s Get Animal. Crackers Magee- Raced wide without cover throughout. Izzonsong- Held up from the 450m to the 350m. Quick Spin- Lay out on the home turn. Sonaisali- Trainer G Osborne advised the Stewards that as the filly can resent the use of the whip, rider B McDougall will be instructed not to apply the whip. Public announcements were made to this effect. Buffeted on jumping and lost ground. App B McDougall reported that his mount raced greenly throughout. Dash to the Bar- Lay out making the home turn and in the straight. RACE 3: Class 1 Handicap 1400m: Joburg Flyer- Raced keenly in the middle stages. Rosie s Ready- Laid out passing the 800m. After taking initial evidence from Rider A. Sweeney(a) and Trainer J. Whitelaw, an inquiry into Apprentice Sweeney s riding of the mare was adjourned to allow Stewards to view the mares most recent runs and to receive betting information on the event. French Politician- Got its head up when racing keenly in the early and middle stages. Moving Target- A pre-race veterinary examination of the gelding found it suitable to race. Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. RACE 4: Benchmark 68 Handicap 1400m: Frankly Harvey- Raced keenly in the early and middle stages and was inclined to lay out throughout. My Maher- Slow to begin. Bray- Rider N Souquet reported his mount never handled the deteriorating soft track conditions and was a beaten horse from the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Honourable Tycoon- When questioned N Beriman stated that her mount was never comfortable from the 800m when her mount struck a softer section of the track and from that point it then failed to run on. Smooth Danish- Steadied approaching the winning post when crowded between Ruark and Sherpa Trail. Arena Queen- Stewards permitted rider S Miller to ride the mare 1/2kg over its declared as the weight scale was lowered at acceptance time. Raced wide throughout.

3 RACE 5: Benchmark 55 Handicap 1600m: Biding Time- the gelding, which competed at the Wodonga meeting on Saturday 14 th July 2018 underwent a veterinary inspection and was passed fit to start. Blue Seal- Raced wide throughout. Lay inwards under pressure in the straight. As I Do- Change of tactics- to be ridden further back from the wide barrier; settled back. Saracentinal- Raced wide throughout. Stable representative A Thompson was unable to offer any explanation for today s improved performance stating the stable had thought the gelding would perform well at its previous two starts before disappointing. He added the gelding s work had not varied and the gear carried by the horse had not been altered and was at loss to explain today s improved effort. Leica Bita Magic- the gelding, which competed at the Wodonga meeting on Saturday 14 th July 2018 underwent a veterinary inspection and was passed fit to start. Roaming to Win- When questioned rider R Prest stated that her mount never travelled at any stage and in her opinion, was not comfortable in the deteriorating soft conditions. A post-race Arellano- Slow to begin. Bellzig- App A Sweeney reported that his mount dipped in a softer section of track making the home turn. Near the 200m was momentarily steadied when Biding Time rolled outwards. RACE 6: Class 1 Handicap 1000m: It s Not There- When questioned A Masters stated that her mount never handled the shifting track conditions and did not let down in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Real Key- Checked shortly after the start when crowded between Shania Miss which was taken out by It s Not There and Black Roe. Hung out passing the 800m. Air Gordon- Raced tight for some distance passing the 700m. When questioned S Miller stated that his mount did not handle the deteriorating track and may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race Liberty s Gift- Shifted out abruptly when struck with the whip passing the 100m. Innocent I Am- Slow to begin. Raced tight for some distance passing the 700m. Tracey s Daisy- Began awkwardly resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced. RACE 7: Benchmark 58 Handicap 1175m: Frenze Hall- Bumped on jumping. Raced wide without cover throughout. Returned with a laceration to the near hind tendon. Trainer D. Heywood was advised a veterinary clearance must be submitted prior to the horse racing again.

4 Twilight Maneuver- Shifted out abruptly near the 200m and as a result was awkwardly positioned close to the heels of Pacific Tycoon. Balycastle Pegasus- Slow to begin (2L). Reward the Chaser- Bumped on jumping. For some distance near the 900m was awkwardly placed on the heels of Treasure Boss whilst hanging outwards. Rider L German(a) stated he was instructed to jump and attempt to obtain cover from a wide barrier. He added his mount was inclined to hang outwards throughout and did not respond when pressured in the straight. He added although the gelding appeared to handle the track condition he believed the horse would be better suited on a firmer track. A post-race Beaujeen- Bumped on jumping. Saint Aquilina- Raced wide without cover throughout. Fashion Tip- Lay out under pressure in the straight and proved difficult to ride out to the line. Rider J. Richards(a) could offer no tangible explanation for today s performance adding his mount travelled well throughout and after initially responding found the line only fairly.
