BEAR'S HALO (Jarrad Noske) Bumped on jumping. MEDOM (Joseph Azzopardi) - Raced wide throughout and lay inwards over the final 100m. TRADE WEST (Willie White) - Bumped at the start. Raced greenly in the straight and as a result shifted inwards abruptly when tested with the whip approaching the 150m. STAR BURST STAR (Clinton Porter) - Commenced awkwardly and bumped. RACE 2: KEVIN HAMMOND MAIDEN M THE FLIRT (Troy Turner) - Raced wide throughout. WANNABE A MAK (Shaun Mc Gruddy) Slipped on jumping. MULLA'S PRIDE (Ellie Cockram) Slipped as the start was effected. ROLLING SASSO (Ben Kennedy) - Raced wide throughout. SUBI CENTRAL (Paul Harvey) Lay outwards over the final 200m. RIDE SALLY RIDE (Jake Casey) Raced keenly in the early and middle stages and was steadied when improving onto the heels of another runner near the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have returned with an abrasion to its near hind fetlock and a slightly elevated heart rate. Trainer Mr L Smith advised that the filly would now be sent for a spell. COSTA DE COSTA (Joseph Azzopardi) Impeded for a short distance on straightening. RACE 3: THOMAS EELES MEMORIAL MAIDEN M SHARP SPINNER (NZ) (Shaun Mc Gruddy) - Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. GOLD EDGE (Clint Johnston-Porter) - Raced keenly in the early and middle stages and wide from the 600m. DUKE OF RAZZLE (Peter Hall) - Raced wide throughout without cover. Following the event, rider advised that although the gelding raced wide throughout, it had been disappointing as when asked for an effort in the straight it had failed to run on strongly as anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr A Durrant s representative advised that the stable would monitor the gelding s recovery and advise Stewards of any abnormalities.

2 Northam : /2 Race 3 continued BRASCO'S BOY (Lucy Warwick) Rider reported that the gelding felt uncomfortable in its action in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed it to have returned shin sore. Trainer Mr M Bairstow advised that the gelding would now be sent for a spell. LONGONE (Shelby Bowtell) - Raced wide throughout. Raced greenly in the straight. SEQUIN SOCIETY (Mandy Richmond) Lay outwards throughout running. DIVA ROSE (Jason Whiting) Raced into restricted room and was momentarily crowded near the 200m. KILLEYMOON (Jerry Noske) Held tight by another runner for a short distance approaching the 1000m and was steadied. General: When questioned regarding her riding through the early stages, Apprentice Richmond (SEQUIN SOCIETY) explained that she had anticipated positioning her mount on pace with cover, however, after commencing on equal terms with several runners to her inside, she felt her best option was to work forward and obtain the lead to avoid racing wide. She further explained that when striding forward she was looking inwards on a number of occasions prior to and as she was crossing to ensure that she was fully clear of runners to her inside and that she looked to her outside on several occasions as she had heard calling from fellow riders in this vicinity. She further advised that she had to ride her mount forward vigorously as it was not racing truly, and had a tendency to want to lay outwards. After viewing the available patrol films, Stewards advised and reminded Apprentice Richmond of her obligations to ensure she is fully clear prior to shifting inwards and that she ensures she maintains a reasonable pace when doing so to avoid causing interference or field compaction to other runners. RACE 4: RM SMITH AND SONS MAIDEN M STANDUP'N'DELIVER (Jason Whiting) Bumped becoming unbalanced near the 300m. A postrace veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have returned shin sore. Trainer Mr M Bairstow advised it would now be sent for a spell. NEW ATTIRE (Peter Hall) - Raced wide throughout. BON SIGNORE (Ben Kennedy) Improved onto heels and was steadied and as a result shifted outwards approaching the 800m. Impeded for a short distance and taken outwards near the 200m. Rider dropped his whip over the concluding stages. ANHING ADINGDING (Willie White) Bumped near the 300m. EAST HAMPTON (Jarrad Noske) Dwelt on jumping losing two lengths. Steadied outwards from heels approaching the 800m and raced wide thereafter. Lay inwards in the straight. GOLDEN EYES (Misty Bazeley) Bumped and unbalanced near the 300m. KEN'S TREASURE (Clinton Porter) - Commenced awkwardly and lost one length. KAZACHKA (Shaun Mc Gruddy) Held up for clear running from on straightening until the 250m. MERRYLADE (Patrick Carbery) Impeded for clear running between the 400m and 300m. RACE 5: ROBBIE O'DRISCOLL MEMORIAL HANDICAP M BELLS TOWER (Renee Forrest) - Commenced awkwardly. HOP ON HOP OFF (Alan Kennedy) - Bumped at the start. SMOKIN' BEAR (Ben Kennedy) - Commenced awkwardly and bumped and raced wide throughout. Lay inwards in the straight and when shifting inwards bumped with another runner near the 150m. MAMBOKADZI (Chloe Azzopardi) Attempted to buck for several strides shortly after the start. Lay outwards over the final 200m. Trainer Mr D McAuliffe was advised that if the filly offends in

Trainer advised that he would engage the same rider for the filly s next start and would place a girth cover on it in an attempt to rectify its racing manner. HEEZA TORIO (Jake Casey) - Raced keenly in the early stages. ZYGOSIS (Randy Tan) Bumped near the 150m. RACE 6: PATRICK ENRIGHT MEMORIAL MAIDEN M CHARGE AHEAD (Shaun Mc Gruddy) Raced wide from the 600m and hung outwards in the straight. EMJYE (Jarrad Noske) Raced keenly in the early and middle stages and wide throughout. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance, rider was of the opinion that racing wide throughout without cover had told on the gelding finishing the race off strongly in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities other than an increased respiratory rate. Trainer Mr T Andrew s representative advised that the gelding would undergo an endoscopic examination in the ensuing days and should any abnormalities arise, the stable would advise the Stewards accordingly. RODINIA (Ellie Cockram) Dwelt as the start was effected and threw its head and lost three lengths. HEAVENS TOUCH (Peter Hall) - Slow into stride losing one length. BOHEMIAN LASS (Jason Whiting) Impeded for a short distance on straightening. FORTUNATE LASSIE (Takahide Ikenushi) - Slow into stride losing one length. BOWDELICIOUS (Mark Forder) Following the performance Trainer Mr B Doughty advised that consideration would be given to retiring the filly after consulting with connections and he would advise Stewards accordingly. RACE 7: MAX TRENORDEN HANDICAP M COMING BACK required its off fore to be replated behind the barrier resulting in a 3 minute delay to the start of this race. COMING BACK (Jake Casey) Cast its off fore plate during its preliminary. After a plate was refitted behind the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Threw its head on jumping and lost one length. Raced wide from the 800m. NORTHERN JEWEL (Patrick Carbery) - When questioned, rider could give no explanation for the unplaced performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr B Albuino advised that he would have the gelding undergo a further veterinary examination on return to the stables and would advised Stewards of any abnormalities. PARAMOUR (Chloe Azzopardi) Raced wide from the 700m. MASS EYE WARRIOR (Shaun O'Donnell) - Slow into stride losing one length. RACE 8: PRESIDENT'S TROPHY HANDICAP M BACHELORS PROSPECT (NZ) (Renee Forrest) Reared on jumping losing one length. Impeded for clear running from the 150m when improving into marginal room between runners, before securing clear running approaching the 50m. NO SMOKEN (Jake Casey) Had a tendency to lay outwards in the straight. TOO FUNNY (Paul Harvey) - Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. UNCONVENTIONAL (Chloe Azzopardi) - Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Held up for clear running from on straightening until near the 100m.

4 Northam : /4 Race 8 continued HEAD TO HELL (Ellie Cockram) - Slow into stride losing one length. Raced wide from the 600m. ONE HOT FOX (Shaun O'Donnell) - Commenced awkwardly and lost one length. Lay inwards in the straight. When questioned rider advised that he was instructed to have the filly position more positively in running, however after losing ground at the start was unable to fulfil these riding instructions and was obliged to settle in a rearward position. Trainer Mr J Warwick $200 under LR140B(a)(i) - for presenting ENTRECHAT with blinkers that had the blinker cups modified. Apprentice M Richmond $50 under AR175(p) - for failing to sign the Riders Sign in Sheet. LATE REPORT: Belmont, Saturday 9 May Race 2, the budget.com. au Handicap (2200m). Stewards have now completed their investigations in relation to betting transactions across Australia following SAXON SAXOFF recording a price fluctuation of $17 to $8 with on course bookmakers when winning the above race. This included a complete analysis of betting records both on and off course from all wagering providers. In relation to on course bookmakers, it was established that straight out bets of $1000 at $17 and $2000 at $14 were placed on SAXON SAXOFF. The bookmakers holding these two bets then bet back part of these amounts with other bookmakers to reduce their liability and this activity then brought about the on course price fluctuation. The identity of the two persons who placed the two winning bets are well known to the Stewards as being professionals who bet regularly on meetings held in Western Australia and other states of Australia. The level of investment from these two persons was

5 Northam : /5 Late Report continued within their normal levels and consistent with their overall betting manner. Both of these people were interviewed and they advised that their form and odds analysis programs calculated the price for SAXON SAXOFF based on its past performances and the composition of the field as being well below the $17 being offered by local bookmakers which led to them placing investments on it when the market opened. Betting records accessed through corporate bookmakers revealed a number of winning bets, however SAXON SAXOFF was not the most highly supported runner in the race with other horses attracting considerably greater levels of investment. Additionally, the level of support through corporate bookmakers and other wagering providers was consistent with the evidence taken from connections at the initial inquiry on the day. Records were also requested from Betfair as a small number of individual betting accounts were identified by RWWA Betting Supervisors during their routine bet monitoring activities throughout race meetings as requiring further investigation, however subsequent information provided disclosed that each of the relevant account holders acted consistently to their general pattern by placing bets within their normal parameters. Further, the overall betting levels through Betfair were unremarkable with the weighted average price being $9.53. A review of betting completed with the assistance of RWWA Manager of Wagering and Product through the TAB, both pari-mutual and fixed odds identified no areas of concern and it was also established that other runners in the race were supported to win to a greater extent than SAXON SAXOFF and that the overall investment on it in the WA fixed odds market represented only a small percentage of the total pool with the largest bet being one of $140. From a complete analysis of the betting records as detailed above and further review of the running of the race and of recent performances of SAXON SAXOFF which demonstrated it had been ridden in a consistent manner and had been able to establish a leading margin to varying degrees after working hard in the early stages and was able to run highly competitive races after recording faster than average times previously and also that it had recorded similar gross times to that when winning this race as compared to when racing over the same distance in its prior preparation, Stewards have no integrity concerns based on all of the information gathered in relation to the overall running of the race and the matter is now finalised.
