2 Rules and Regulations: Class List: 1.All judge s decisions are final. No exhibitor or person shall approach a judge on any matter without show manager permission. Anyone disregarding this rule may be asked to cancel all entries and forfeit all entry fees. 2. Management reserves the right to cancel, combine or divide classes if in its opinion the lack of entries warrant. 3. There will be a post entry fee of $10.00 for all entries received after 4:00 pm the day before the show. There will be no penalty for entering additional classes the day of the show. 4. There will be a $50.00 fee for all returned checks. 5. A trophy and 6 ribbons will be presented in all classes unless otherwise stated. 6. All exhibitors are prohibited from riding anywhere on show grounds without wearing protective headgear that has passed the current ASTM/SEI standards. Harnesses must be secured and if said headgear has a brim, it must be flexible or semi-flexible. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until said headgear is properly in place. 7. All dogs must be on a leash. 8. Membership forms and class specifications are available at the secretary s office. 9. Under Rhode Island law, an equine professional, unless he can be shown to have failed to be in the exercise of due care, is not liable for any injury to, or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, pursuant to Chapter 21, of Title 4 of the General laws. 10. Courses will consist of post, rail, walls, gates, brush and flowers. 11. Post entries will be charged $20 if not received before 4:00 the night before. 12 All mounted riders cannot ride anywhere on the show grounds without wearing protective headgear. All riders must present their current RIHA and NEHC membership cards or a copy thereof to the show secretary prior to competing in the RIHA and NEHC medal classes. 14. No exhibitor numbers will be handed out without a signed check or payment of entries. 15.Championship and Reserve Championship ribbons will be handed out in all divisions. 16. Schooling and lunging will be permitted in authorized areas only. 4 Class Descriptions: Lead Line- Walk Trot- Pleasure- Green 1. Lead Line Equitation -RIHA B Entry Fee:$20 Open to riders 6 years of age and under. To be shown at the walk and individually at the trot or jog. To be judged with emphasis on equitation; also suitability and manners of mount to be consid- ered. Leader shall be on foot and at least 14 years of age. Riders man not compete in any other classes except: Lead line Eq Championship or Lead Line Suitability. 2. Lead Line Equitation Championship- RIHA B Entry Fee;$25 Same specifications as class #1 except riders must compete in class #1 to be eligible for class #2. 3. Lead Line Suitability-RIHA B Entry Fee:$20 Open to riders 6 years of age and under. To be shown at the walk and individually at the trot or jog. Must compete in class #17 to be eligible for Championship class. 17. Open Pleasure Entry Fee:$ Open Pleasure Championship Entry Fee:$ RIHA Pleasure Rated B Entry Fee:$30 Open to horses usually used for pleasure purposes that are owned by a members of the RI Horseman s Association. To be shown at the walk, trot, and canter both ways of the ring, with light rein, but still maintaining contact with horse s mouth. Must be asked to back. Shall be judged on manners, performance and quality in that order. $20, $15, $10, $5 20 NEHC Open Pleasure Horse or Pony NEHC C Entry Fee:$30 To be shown at the walk, trot, and canter both ways of the ring, with light rein, but still maintaining con- tact with horse s mouth. Must be asked to back. Shall be judged on manners, performance and quality in that order. All horse s/ponies shall be judged on their respective merits regardless of type. Hunt Seat Pleasure Equitation - RIHA/NEHC B Open to Junior Exhibitors and Amateur Owners, however may be divided if sufficient entries. Riders to be judged on the flat with emphasis on position, hands, seat and rider s horsemanship to execute a pleasure ride. To walk, trot and canter both ways. No martingales or tie downs. CANNOT CROSS ENTER INTO HUNT SEAT EQUITATION FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR. 79. Hunt Seat Pleasure Equitation Entry Fee: $20 To be judged at walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring. 80. Hunt Seat Pleasure Equitation Championship Entry Fee: $25 Specifications same as regular class but judge may require additional testing. Hunter type Pet Pony NEHC/RIHA B Open to riders under 14 years of age. To be shown at the walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring. To be judged on manners, performance and suitability to rider. To be eligible for the championship class you must have competed in class # Hunter Type Pet Pony Entry Fee:$ Hunter Type Pet Pony Championship $20, $15, $10, $5 Entry Fee:$30 Equitation Short Stirrup Equitation- NEHC/RIHA B Open to riders 12 years of age or younger. Not to compete in any other equitation class at any show and has not competed in a jumping class exceeding 18 in height. To be shown over a minimum do 4 and a maximum of 8 fences not exceeding 18 in height. Fences may be taken at either a trot of canter at the option of the rider. To be judged at the walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring on the flat. May be asked to halt and back. No more than eight riders to canter at one time. 23. Short Stirrup Eq. Fences 24. For amateurs who have won 6 blue ribbons, they eligible for Modified Adult, if as of December 1st of the current show year, they have not shown in classes with fenced 3 or higher within the past 2 years. Fences not to exceed 2 6. Riders in this division can not ride in any other rec- ognized classes at the same show where fences exceed Modified Adult Eq. Fences 45. Modified Adult Equitation on the flat

5 46. MHJ Adult Mini Medal- Entry Fee $30 Open to all Adult Amateur riders that have not shown over a course where the fences exceed 3 in the current year. To perform over a course of at least 8 fences not to exceed 2 6. To fill a class a least 2 riders must complete the course. Once qualified riders may continue to shoe in the class until August 1st of the current show year. 47. RIHA Adult Mini Medal- Entry Fee $30 Open to adult amateur riders of the RI Horseman s Association who, as of December 1st of the current show year, has not won 6 blue ribbons at a recognized shoe in Adult equitation classes. Including Adult medal classes but excluding Modified adult classes. For amateurs who have won 6 blue ribbons, they eligible for Modified Adult, if as of December 1st of the current show year, they have not shown in classes with fenced 3 or higher within the past 2 years. Fences not to exceed 2 6. Riders in this division can not ride in any other recognized classes at the same show where fences exceed 2 6 Competitors will be asked to compete over a course of at least 6 fences 2 6 in height with no combinations. USEF tests 1-8 may be asked at the judges discretion. A minimum of 3 riders must complete the course. To qualify for the finals an exhibitor must win one class. Once qualified a rider may continue to show in this class. 14 and Under Equitation- NEHC/RIHA B and Under Open Equitation on the flat and Under Open Equitation over Fences 51. MHJ Mini Medal- Entry Fee $30 Open to junior riders who have no exceeded their 15th birthday as of December 1st of the current year (exception Maiden and Novice riders who have reached their 18th birthday as of December 1st of the current show year). To perform over at least 6 fences not to exceed 2 6. AT least 2 riders must complete the course in order for points to count 52. RIHA Mini Medal- Entry Fee $30 Open to Junior riders who have not reached their 15th birthday and riders years of age who are not eligible for limit equitation over fences as do December 1st of the current show year and has not competed in classes which the entry may be required to jump higher than 3. All riders to compete over a course not exceeding 8 fences and not less than 6 fences at a height not to exceed 2 6 with at least one change of direction. One or more individual test may be requested at the judge s discretion. (USEF tests 1-8) To fill the class at least 4 or more competitors must complete the course. Contestants are not allowed to cross enter into any medal classes with fences 3 or higher or compete in a division or class with fences over 3 at any show during the year. Violation of this requirement qualifies the competitor from the finals. RIHA Mini Medal Finals top 6 contestants are to be tested (USEF 1-8). Children's Equitation-NEHC/RIHA B Entry Fee $25 Open to exhibitors who are eligible for Children's Hunter and who has not shown over a course where fences exceed 3 at a recognized show after December 1st of the current year. 54. MHJ Adult Medal Entry Fee $30 Open to all amateur adult riders to perform over at least 8 fences with at least two changes of direction and a combination. At least 2 riders must complete the course for the points to count. Ten points required to qualify for the finals Once qualified riders may continue to show in the class until August 1st of the current show year. At the finals, class will be divided and over RIHA Adult Medal Entry Fee $30 Open to amateur Adult members of the RI Horseman s Association. All contestants are required to perform over at least 8 fences not to exceed 3 with at least 1 change of direction. One or more indi- vidual tests of the top 4 contestants may be requested at the judge s discretion. (USEF test 1-19). To fill a class at least 3 competitors must complete the course. For the finals, the judge shall require to work-off the top 4 competitors. One first or two seconds to qualify for the finals 72. NEHC Adult Medal Entry Fee $30 Open to adult members of the New England Horseman s Council. All contestants are required to perform over at least eight fences not to exceed 3. One or more individual tests of the top 4 contestants may be required at the judge s discretion (USEF 1-19). To fill a class at least four competitors must complete the course. Contestants that are qualified are no longer eligible for the preliminary class. Violation will forfeit eligibility for the finals for that year. 73. MHJ Junior Medal Entry Fee $30 Open to riders who have not reached their 18th birthday as of December 1st of the current show year. All contestants to perform over at least 6 fences 3 3 At least 2 riders must complete the course for the points to count. Ten points required to qualify for the finals Once qualified riders may continue to show in the class until August 1st of the current show year. 74. RIHA Junior Medal Entry Fee $30 Open to Junior members of the RI Horseman s Association who have not reached their 18th birthday.. All contestants are required to perform over at least 8 fences not to exceed 3 with at least 1 change of direction. One or more individual tests of the top 4 contestants may be requested at the judge s discretion. (USEF test 1-19). To fill a class at least 3 competitors must complete the course. To fill a class at least four competitors must complete the course. One win required to qualify for the finals. Contestants that are qualified are no longer eligible for the preliminary class. Violation will forfeit eligibility for the finals for that year 97. SEHA Adult Medal- Entry Fee $30 Open to adult members of the Southeast Hunter Association. All contestants are required to perform over at least 8 fences not to exceed 3 in height. One or more tests of the top 4 contestants may be requested at the judge s discretion. (USEF Tests 1-19).To fill, at least 2 competitors must complete the course. Ten points required to qualify for the finals (10, 6, 4, 2, 1, 1/2). Once qualified, you may still enter the class. If you won the Junior Medal at the Finals, you are no longer eligible for this class. 98. SEHA Junior Medal- Entry Fee $30 Open to junior members who have not reached their 18th birthday. All contestants are required to perform over at least 8 fences not to exceed 3 3 in height. One or more tests of the top 4 contestants may be requested at the judge s discretion. (USEF Tests 1-19).To fill, at least 2 competitors must complete the course. Ten points required to qualify for the finals. (10,6,4,2,1,1/2). Once qualified, you may still enter the class. If you won the Junior Medal at the Finals, you are no longer eligible for this class. 99. SEHA Adult Mini Medal- Entry Fee $30 Open to adult members of the Southeast Hunter Association. All contestants are required to perform over at least 8 fences not to exceed 2 6 in height. One or more tests of the top 4 contestants may be requested at the judge s discretion. (USEF Tests 1-19).To fill, at least 4 competitors must complete the course. Ten points required to qualify for the finals (10, 6, 4, 2, 1, 1/2). Once qualified, you may still enter the class. If you won the Junior Medal at the Finals, you are no longer eligible for this class SEHA Mini Medal- Entry Fee $30 Open to SEHA Members who have not reached their 15th birthday as of December 1st of the current year and have not competed in any horsemanship class in which the rider is required to jump higher than 3 with the exception of the USEF Pony Medal. All contestants are to compete over a course not to exceed 8 fences and not less than 6 fences, at a height not to exceed 2 6. No combinations..one or more individual tests may be requested at the judge s discretion (USEF tests 1-5).Contestants are not allowed to cross enter into the National Children s Medal, WIHS,MHC, NEHC and RIHA Medal, USEF Medal, USET or the ASPCA Horsemanship class at any show during the year. To fill a class, at least 2 competitors must complete the course. Ten points to qualify for the Finals. (10, 6, 4, 2, 1, ½). Once qualified you may still enter the class. If you have won the Mini Medal Finals, you are no longer eligible for this class.

6 Marshall & Sterling Children s Medal - Pony- Entry Fee $40 Open to Junior Riders on ponies that are not competing at the same show in any class with fences at 3 or higher. To be shown over a minimum of 8 fences at the required height with at least two changes of direction after the first fence. A combination is optional, and must be adjusted according to fence heights. Two or more tests of the top four competitors are required. The same pony must be used in all phases. Only one rider per pony. (Riders may not ride in more than one height section of the class.) Three riders must complete the course in order for points to count. The rider must be a member in order for points to count toward qualifying for the Finals. No cross entry of rider into the M&S Children s Horse Medal or Children s 2 6 Medal at the same show. May be combined with Child Horse and/or Adult Medal. Fences 2 6 (Large) Fences 2 0 (Sm/Med) M&S S/M Pony Medal 102. M&S Large Pony Medal 103. Marshall & Sterling Children s Medal Entry Fee $40 Open to Junior Riders on horses who are not competing at the same show in any hunter or equitation class in which the fences exceed 3 3. To be shown over a minimum of 8 fences the required height including a combination and at least two changes of direction after the first fence. Two or more tests of the top four competitors are required. The same horse must be used in all phases. Only one rider per horse. Three riders must complete the course in order for points to count. The rider must be a member in order for points to count toward qualifying for the Finals. If entries warrant, this class may be split Horses and Ponies. Fence heights horses 3, Ponies Small/Medium 2, Large Marshall & Sterling Adult 2 6 Medal- Entry Fee $40 Open to Adult Amateur Riders that are not competing at the same show in any class with fences 3 or higher. To be shown over a minimum of 8 fences the required height including combination and at least two changes of direction after the first fence. The same horse must be used in all phases. Only one horse per rider. Two or more of tests of the top four competitors are required. Three riders must complete the course in order for points to count. Hunter Divisions RIHA Hunter Division- RIHA B Entry Fee:$30/ Class Open to members and non-members. Horse/rider combination is not eligible for any other RIHA, or NEHC classes excluding equitation. Open to a horse or rider in their first and second year of showing over fences. Fences not to exceed RIHA Hunter over Fences $20, $15, $10, $5 39. RIHA Hunter over Fences $20, $15, $10, $5 40. RIHA Hunter U/S Modified Adult Hunter Division- NEHC/RIHA A Entry Fee:$30/ Class Open to riders who are eligible for Modified Adult Equitation. Fences not to exceed Modified Adult Hunter over Fences $40, $30, $20, $ Modified Adult Hunter over Fences $40, $30, $20, $ Modified Adult Hunter U/S Children's Hunter Division-NEHC/RIHA B Entry Fee:$30/ Class To be shown by junior exhibitors. Juniors must be eligible for intermediate equitation over fences as of December 1st of the current show year. Fences not to exceed 2 of small/medium ponies, 2 6 for large ponies and 3 for horses. Spreads not to exceed fence height. If extras warrant, the division may be split at the discretion of the show management. Same hors/pony/rider combination may not show in any other rated division except equitation at the same show. Ponies may not cross enter into regular Pony Hunter Division. Jogging for soundness at the discretion of the judge. 57. Children's Hunter over Fences $20, $15, $10, $5 58. Children's Hunter over Fences $20, $15, $10, $5 59.
