2 Toorak Belle on jumping away became unbalance when bumping with Squadron Leader. Passing the 500 metres until the 200 metres, was held up when unable to obtain a clear run. Son Of City raced keenly during the early and middle stages and was then allowed to stride around the filed in a three-wide position and sat outside the leader near the 600 metres. Rider N. Rose explained that the saddle slipped forward, placing him at a disadvantage and for this reason he allowed the horse to stride. A post raced veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities. Enigman when under pressure in the straight, layed out. Shifted out abruptly near the 100 metres. Fast And Furious approaching the 100 metres was inconvenienced when taken out by Enigman, which shifted out abruptly when racing greenly. Race 2 tac plan now to get home later maiden plate metres: Lilac Wine on arrival on course Lilac Wine, which had been unsettled in the float to the races and rubbed its near side hip, was examined by the Clubs Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race. Lucky Journey after arrival on course was found to be suffering mild colic and on veterinary advice, Stewards authorised the withdrawal of Lucky Journey at p.m. Steel Of Madrid reared behind the barriers and as a result rider J. Noonan suffered a harmless fall. The colt galloped riderless for some distance before being captured a short time later. Acting on veterinary advice Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Steel Of Madrid at 1.38 p.m. with the following bettering deductions: All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded. McCabe reported that the gelding raced fiercely during the event and further to this, would be better suited over a distance longer than todays event. Martin reported that the mare was making an unusual respiratory noise during the running of the event. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities. Prospector slow to begin. Spirited Character Rider J. Rule reported that the gelding overraced in the early stages and for this reason failed to finish the race when placed under pressure. Panda Eyes raced wide without cover during the early stages before being permitted to stride and sit outside the leader near the 1200 metres. Magentaz raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Raced wide without cover from the 700 metres. Mr Jazz permitted to stride around the field near the 1000 metres to take up a position to lead after passing the 800 metres. Logovardi rider D. Holland could offer no explanation for the geldings performance. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities.

4 Virginia Water rider B. Mertens reported it was not his intention to lead, however, after beginning well and with the blinkers on, the mare took up that position. Race 6 classicbet in the app store bm70 handicap metres: White House Lady trainer T. Noonan was fined $200 for the late notification of M. Carson as the rider of the mare. Had some difficulty obtaining a clear run prior to straightening. Amenzel commenced awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Waltz In raced wide without cover throughout the event. One Grey slow to begin. Near the 150 metres, when giving ground, was steadied when tightened for room between La Consolidata and Amenzel which shifted in slightly. Internship when racing ungenerously passing the 1000 metres got its head up when being restrained from the heels of La Consolidata. Kiss The Stars rider J. Rule reported that he was instructed to attempt to ride the horse in a mid-field position, however, after beginning fairly he noticed in the early stages Internship began to race fiercely and threw its head on a number of occasions and for this reason he eased away from that gelding passing the 900 metres. As a result he ended up racing further back in the field than expected. He added that Kiss The Stars travelled into the race well, however, when placed under pressure in the straight, made some ground but assessed its overall performance as disappointing. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities. Race 7 patties foods bairnsdale cup metres: Calvin Williams slow to begin. Near the 50 metres shifted in slightly and bumped with New York which shifted out. When questioned regarding tactics rider J. Mott explained after beginning well from the wide barrier he did not have to use the horse and as a result Calvin Williams settled outside the leader. Battle End slow to begin. Eljetem shortly after the start had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Grande Rosso which shifted out on jumping away. Rider M. Carson reported that after receiving interference at the start his mount was then unable to show early speed which was in contrast to its recent runs which had been in a lead/handy position. Refulgent raced wide without cover throughout the event. When questioned regarding tactics rider J. Allen reported that he initially had cover one off the fence. However, after runners improved around him Grande Rosso shifted out slightly approaching the 1400 metres which resulted in Refulgent then racing three-wide without cover. He added that he steadied in an attempt to gain cover behind Grande Rosso, however, was unable to do so and as a result raced wide for the remainder of the event without cover. Grande Rosso rider D. Holland reported that the gelding which performed poorly, travelled well throughout the event, however, when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities.

5 New York passing the 50 metres shifted out and made contact with Calvin Williams which shifted in slightly. Race 8 tim bull bm64 handicap metres: Winston Drive slow to begin. Crafty Miss slow to begin and then reluctant to stride out during the early stages of the event. Rider L. Riordan reported that the mare failed to travel at any stage throughout the event. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities. Crisis Point when under pressure in the straight, layed in. Madog when questioned regarding the tactics near the 500 metres, rider H. Coffey explained that he did not want to race excessively wide around Simply Simon and for this reason shifted to that geldings inside and had an uninterrupted run from that point. He added that Madog made good ground when under pressure in the home straight and in his view would be better suited to distances longer than todays event.
