RACE 5 TAB.com.au Handicap 1350m Dark Steel co-trainer Mr Paul Snowden advised that Dark Steel had now been spelled. RACE 6 Ranvet Handicap 1350m Disgraceful trainer Mr C Waller advised that Disgraceful had pulled up well and the intention would be to drop the horse back in distance for its next race start. RACE 8 Hyland Race Colours Handicap 1800m Collaboration trainer Mr C Waller advised that Collaboration had now left the stable. RACE 1 TAB.com.au Plate 1100m Soul Testa bounded as the start was effected and lost ground (3L). Trainer Mr R Quinton was advised an official warning would be recorded against the gelding for being slow to begin. Golden Organic was crowded shortly after the start. Golden Organic hung out rounding the home turn. Dynamic Bid bumped on jumping. Another Weapon approaching the first turn near the 600m, when being steadied away from the heels of Regenesis, shifted in and made contact with Niccolance. A short distance later was then contacted by Niccolance when that runner shifted away from the rail to assume a position trailing Regenesis approaching the 500m. As a result, Another Weapon was carried wider. Fanning rounding the home turn, when racing keenly, had to be checked when awkwardly placed close to the heels of Tango Rain. Niccolance when questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider B Shinn stated the colt travelled well with him throughout the run, however once he obtained clear running approaching the 250m, he asked his mount to improve, however in his opinion, Niccolance did not handle today's rain affected going and he attributed this to the horse failing to finish today's race off. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Regenesis a post race veterinary examination revealed blood in the mouth of Regenesis as a result of a knocked upper temporal tooth.

2 RACE 2 Schweppes Handicap 1900m Pennsylvania Ave change of tactics, option to be ridden further forward; settled worse than midfield. Pennsylvania Ave was slow to begin. I Told Georgie began awkwardly. Most Exalted was slow to begin. When questioned regarding his riding from the 600m, rider G Schofield stated that he was instructed by trainer Mr J Cummings to ride the horse similarly to when he was successful on the gelding at Canterbury on 8 June On that occasion, Most Exalted settled at the tail of the field. He stated that after beginning only fairly today, he restrained his mount to race back. G Schofield further stated that approaching the turn near the 600m, when trailing I Told Georgie, he was reluctant to shift off the back of that runner to improve into the race as he felt to make a run 600m from home would not be in the best interests of his mount. He stated that a short distance later, near the 500m, when I Told Georgie shifted out to improve, that runner was taken further out when In Mum's Memory hung out. He elected then to obtain runs to the inside of these horses and he anticipated taking a run between Another Larga and Pennsylvania Ave approaching the 400m. He stated he was unable to improve into this run due to Another Larga shifting ground in advance of him. He then stated approaching the home turn, when he was aware he was unable to improve to the inside of Another Larga, he attempted to shift out and improve between Another Larga and I Told Georgie, however when Another Larga weakened in advance of him, and as his mount was improving into the race at this point, he had to check off the heels of that runner and shifted to the outside to obtain clear running on straightening. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. In Mum s Memory a post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post race recovery and also found to be displaying the thumps. Trainer Mr C Waller undertook to provide a veterinary clearance prior to the filly racing again. Another Larga rider J Ford reported that the gelding felt awkward in its action behind. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. RACE 3 Press Vinery Plate 1100m Bacarella change of tactics to be ridden further forward; led. Bacarella was slow to begin. Rider S Clipperton reported that his mount raced greenly, got its head up, shifted out and proved difficult to ride in the straight. Miss Beneteau trainer Mr J Coyle was fined $300 under AR141A(1) in that he presented Miss Beneteau to the races when the filly was shod with steel work shoes. Miss Beneteau was then replated in aluminium shoes which resulted in a slight delay to the running of this race. Dynastic Lady began awkwardly and shortly after the start was crowded by Broodwar, which itself began awkwardly and shifted out. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Painted Lady was crowded on jumping. Painted Lady raced keenly in the early stages and making the first turn was steadied away from the heels of Sweet Chestnut. Sweet Chestnut was bumped on the hindquarter shortly after the start by Painted Lady and became unbalanced. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, the only explanation rider B Shinn could offer was that in his opinion, the filly felt one paced and was somewhat green. A post race veterinary examination revealed a deep speedy cut above the off hind coronet. Oklahoma Girl began awkwardly and shortly after the start was crowded between Rose Petals and Snitzcher, which shifted out. Oklahoma Girl, approaching the first turn at the 600m when racing greenly, shifted in and had to be eased away from the heels of Dynastic Lady. Rose Petals was bumped on jumping and became unbalanced.

3 White Moss over the concluding stages, when closing off, was awkward on the heels of Oklahoma Girl and shifted to the outside of that runner to obtain clear running. Silent Sea when questioned regarding the gelding leading today, rider J Collett said that his instructions were to have Silent Sea in an off pace position. He said from the wide barrier, after beginning well, he was unable to obtain a position with cover and further when he noticed More Than Fabulous, which was racing directly to his inside, being steadied, he felt he was unable to obtain a position with cover. He therefore elected to stride forward and take up the lead approaching the first turn. RACE 4 TAB More Than Just Winning Handicap 1250m Kopite was slow to begin. Kopite was held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight. Chloe's Comet was slow to begin. Chloe's Comet made the home turn awkwardly. Atom Eve from the 600m was hampered and carried wider when Betrayed hung out. Ciarlet rider H Bowman advised that shortly after straightening, he became concerned with the action of the filly and as such he restrained Ciarlet out of the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stable representative Mr C Duckworth advised that Ciarlet will now be spelled. Mr Duckworth was advised that prior to Ciarlet being permitted to race again, the filly will be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards. Mr Duckworth undertook to report back on the progress of Ciarlet in the days subsequent and furthermore that the stable would be required to provide a veterinary clearance. Betrayed a post race veterinary examination of Betrayed, which hung out badly throughout and was eased done by its rider, revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr R Quinton was advised that Betrayed would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. RACE 5 Hyland Race Colours Handicap 1100m Bells Of War change of tactics to be ridden quieter; settled off pace. I lltellyousoon at the request of rider P King, the mare was examined behind the barriers by the Club's veterinary officer. I lltellyousoon was withdrawn at 3.14pm on veterinary advice when the mare was found to be lame in the near fore leg. The Stewards ruled that all monies invested on I lltellyousoon be refunded in full and that all successful wagers made prior to 3.14pm be subject to the following deductions in the face value of each ticket. 1 st Princess Command 8 cents win, 8 cents place 2 nd Astro Miss 9 cents place 3 rd Cheeky Babe 4 cents place Trainer S McDonald undertook to report back on the progress of I lltellyousoon in the days subsequent and were further advised they would be required to provide a veterinary clearance. Ming was checked on jumping. Lot Three Four One began very awkwardly, shifted out abruptly and shortly afterwards had to be restrained off the heels of Magna Joy. Magna Joy was contacted on the hindquarter shortly after the start. Louisiana Rouge began very awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Thorsborne had to be severely checked on jumping. Cheeky Babe was slow to begin and then hampered shortly after when Navua Mist shifted out.

4 Lot Three Four One, passing the 300m, was steadied away from the heels of Keikosan, which was taken out by Princess Command when that runner endeavoured to improve to the outside of the heels of Cheeky Babe, which in turn was shifting out. RACE 6 McGrath Estate Agents Handicap 1200m Sniper Mr J Bruce, representing trainer B Baker, was fined $100 for the late notification to remove blinkers from the gelding. Selectify change of tactics to be ridden quieter; settled back. Lucky Fish change of tactics to be ridden further forward; settled on pace. Lucky Fish began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped Choice Larga. Lucky Fish was held up in the early part of the straight. Magic Jewel change of tactics to be ridden further forward; led. When questioned regarding the mare obtaining a noticeable lead in the middle stages, rider J Ford reported that, as was notified to the Stewards, it was the intention to have the horse ridden further forward today. He added that he rode his mount along in the early stages to cross Iron George and Lucky Fish. He stated that after assuming the lead approaching the 900m, he attempted to restrain his mount, however Magic Jewel commenced to race keenly and did not respond to his efforts to restrain the mare and as a consequence set a quicker tempo than what he had liked in the middle stages. Iron George bounded on jumping. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be mildly lame in the near hind leg. Trainer Ms T Rogers undertook to provide a veterinary clearance prior to Iron George being permitted to race again. Isorich was crowded on jumping. Isorich laid out under pressure over the final 100m. Oscar's Choice was bumped on jumping. Sniper was slow to begin. Eleni Whirl rider S Clipperton advised the mare never travelled at any stage of the event and was disappointing in the manner in which it finished the race off. A post race veterinary examination of Eleni Whirl, which was beaten by 26.4L, revealed a poor post race recovery. Stable representative Ms H Devlin was advised that Eleni Whirl would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again. Ms Devlin undertook to report back on the progress of Eleni Whirl in the days subsequent. Ms Devlin also advised that Eleni Whirl will now leave the stable. Tabrobane when questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider K McEvoy stated he shifted his mount across to obtain cover following Deep Conviction, however when that runner also eased in advance of him, he was taken back through the field and as a result, settled further back than what he had intended. He added that Tabrobane was then unsuited having to make a sustained run around the field on ground which he felt his mount was not entirely comfortable on. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. RACE 7 TAB Rewards Handicap 1900m Storm System change of tactics to be ridden quieter; settled back. Rider K McEvoy advised that the horse never travelled at any stage and consequently failed to run on. Approaching the turn near the 600m was contacted on a number of occasions and taken wider by Kiseki Dane (App M McGillvray) when that runner shifted out to improve around the heels of Excited Prince. App McGillvray was advised to exercise more care when performing similar manoeuvres like this in the future. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr G Ryan advised that Storm System had been working well leading into the race and expressed his disappointment in the performance of the horse. Mr Ryan undertook to report back on the progress of Storm System and its future race plans. Song And Laughter bounded on jumping.

5 Excited Prince after being slow to begin, was crowded shortly after the start between In A Jiffy and Anthony's Best, both which shifted ground. No Return approaching the 1700m was buffeted between Hunter Jack and Rye, which shifted in. Rye when questioned regarding the disappointing performance of Rye, App R Hutchings stated the horse travelled well throughout the early and middle stages but was a beaten horse from the 500m. App Hutchings reported that he was not satisfied in the manner in which the horse returned to scale. A post race veterinary examination revealed speedy cuts to off hind pastern. Anthony s Best when questioned regarding the disappointing performance, the only explanation rider J Penza could offer was that the gelding did not get through today's track conditions. Approaching the 1600m was steadied away from the heels of In A Jiffy (B Spriggs) which shifted in when not clear. B Spriggs was advised to exercise more care. A post race veterinary examination revealed speedy cuts to off hind pastern. Thewayweare overraced in the middle stages. Hunter Jack after passing the 600m, had to be eased away from the heels of the weakening Anthony's Best. No Return was held up rounding the home turn on the heels of the weakening Anthony's Best. GENERAL: Following the running of race 6, some jockeys, who had ridden in this race, expressed their concern to the Stewards regarding the condition of the track and the footing to which they were being afforded. Prior to the running of race 7, several senior riders accompanied the Stewards to conduct a track inspection over the final 600m. Following the track inspection, both the riders and the Stewards were satisfied that the track was safe to continue racing. Swab samples were taken from all winners and the following runners: Race 1: Fanning, Tango Rain, Tumultuous, Niccolance. Race 2: Another Larga, Sea Sharp, I Told Georgie, Most Exalted. Race 3: Bacarella, Dynastic Lady, Silent Sea (2). Race 4: Ciarlet, Gone To Paris, Kopite, Blue Money. Race 5: Magna Joy, Cheeky Babe, Astro Miss (2). Race 6: Lucky Fish, Choice Larga, Isorich. Race 7: Song And Laughter, In A Jiffy, Braces.
