Plane, M. Faassen Clerk of Scales: M. Grigsby RACE 1: GET THE TABTOUCH MAIDEN M HURRICANE JACK Slow into stride, losing one length. SHREWD GAMBLE Raced keenly through the middle stages and was steadied outwards when improving onto heels passing the 800m. Rider reported the bit pulled through the gelding s mouth during running and this had placed him at a disadvantage in being able to fully assist his mount. DEEP COVER - Raced keenly through the middle stages and wide for the majority of the event. REIGN'S A MONTY Raced keenly through the middle stages. COSTA OESTE Over-raced through the early and middle stages and when being steadied got its head in the air for a short distance approaching the 1000m. METAL RAIN Lay outwards rounding the home turn. Trainer Ms W. Miller was advised to take steps to rectify the gelding s racing manner. SOXY BEAU Raced greenly throughout and commenced to compound from the 600m. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Due to the uncompetitive performance, Trainer Mr B. Watkins was advised that the gelding would have to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards before racing again. Trainer advised that he will race the gelding over an increased distance at its next start. BURNING MAGIC Raced keenly through the early and middle stages. QUEST TO VENUS Raced wide throughout. MISS SWINDLE Momentarily inconvenienced on straightening. MAGIC MINT Lay outwards in the straight. MAIWALD - Commenced awkwardly. Mis-strode from behind and became unbalanced for a short distance passing the 800m. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. RACE 2: AWESOME ROCK PLATE M PORTALIAN Raced in restricted room and was momentarily inconvenienced over the concluding stages. ARCADIA PRINCE Commenced slowly, losing two lengths. Carried outwards and bumped near the 500m. Held up for clear running from on straightening until angled outwards across heels at the 200m.

2 BELMONT : /2 Race 2 Continued FAIR SONARI - Commenced awkwardly and bumped. INFILTRATOR - Commenced awkwardly. DANES MAREE - Commenced awkwardly. CARESS YOUR SOUL Raced wide throughout. DASHING AFFAIR Raced wide throughout. COOL SERENITY - Commenced awkwardly, unbalancing its rider. Bumped near the 500m. Raced greenly and lay inwards in the straight. COSMIC REFLECTION Dwelt on jumping, losing two lengths. Raced ungenerously through the early and middle stages and as a result was restrained when improving onto heels getting its head in the air near the 500m. Raced greenly throughout. Impeded for clear running from on straightening until angled inwards approaching the 300m. FINE SCENT -Bumped near the 500m. STOLART Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly through the early and middle stages. RACE 3: CARBINE CLUB OF WA HANDICAP M VEUVE DE VEGA Trainer Mr S. Casey advised that he would instruct for the gelding not to lead but to be ridden on pace if possible and this information was disseminated. Lay outwards rounding the home turn. EXCUSE ME MAK Bumped on jumping and again bumped and buffeted shortly after the start. SPIRITUAL EYES Raced keenly through the middle stages when leading. Rider was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out fully to the end of the race and Stewards were satisfied that this had not affected the final placings. SOVEREIGN HALL - Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Lay inwards throughout. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr T. Martinovich s representative advised that they would reinstate blinkers on the gelding in an attempt to rectify its racing manner. TWO FOR TWENTY TWO - Commenced awkwardly and bumped and shortly after was crowded between runners and bumped and steadied, losing one length. Crowded and restrained getting its head in the air and lost ground near the 700m. Rider reported that the gelding raced ungenerously through the early and middle stages. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr B. Pearce s representative was advised that he was to continue to engage the services of a senior rider for the gelding s future racing. ZEINITE Bumped on jumping. Shoeing Change: EXCUSE ME MAK Bar Plate Off (Near fore) General: Stewards inquired into an incident leaving the 700m where TWO FOR TWENTY TWO (W. Pike) became crowded and was restrained by its rider. Jockey Pike explained that through this section of the race SOVEREIGN HALL (A. Kennedy) had placed marginal pressure on his mount, however due to the gelding racing ungenerously he was not confident enough to hold his position and restrained the gelding. Jockey Kennedy advised that his mount had lay inwards through this section of the race and was aware that Jockey Pike had been racing to his inside and had attempted to allow sufficient room through this section of the race. After viewing the vision and considering the statements by the riders, Stewards cautioned Jockey Kennedy and advised him to ensure that he allows sufficient room to runners to his inside at all times. RACE 4: CARBINE CLUB LIFE MEMBERS HANDICAP M The start of this race was delayed by approximately three minutes due to INVINCIBLE MODE requiring to be replated on its near fore.

3 BELMONT : /3 Race 4 Continued INVINCIBLE MODE Cast its near fore plate whilst completing its preliminary which was subsequently refitted behind the barriers and after undergoing a Veterinary examination was passed fit to start. Commenced awkwardly, losing one length. IMPERIAL VENUS Bumped shortly after the start. SIR SNUGALOT Shifted outwards and bumped shortly after the start. Shifted inwards resulting in its hindquarters being bumped outwards approaching the 900m. AKIKO - Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Rider was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out fully to the end of the race and Stewards were satisfied that this had not affected the final placings. DIAMOND PRINCESS Bumped inwards heavily and unbalanced approaching the 900m. Raced wide throughout. BELLA'S KEEPER Steadied outwards from heels approaching the 900m. CAPE LADY Momentarily crowded approaching the 900m. General: Jockey P. Knuckey (SIR SNUGALOT) was reprimanded for careless riding under AR.137(a) for allowing his mount to shift inwards approaching the 900m resulting in his mount bumping heavily with DIAMOND PRINCESS (L. Warwick) when not fully clear of that runner. RACE 5: CARBINE CLUB PRESIDENT LEITH PUTLAND HANDICAP M QUALITY FAIR Bumped and crowded on jumping. ANOTHER VISION Bumped on jumping. OMINOUS WARNING - Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Scrambled on jumping. ILLUSION OF LIGHT - Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Raced wide throughout. Rider dropped her whip at the 125m. TRANSGRESSOR Bounded on jumping and bumped shortly after the start. Raced wide throughout. HEEZ OUR WALLY - Commenced awkwardly and bumped RACE 6: CARBINE CLUB PERTH RACING HANDICAP M DAGORLAD Raced wide throughout. Lay outwards from the 600m. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. HOLLYWOOD ROCK Commenced to race keenly and was steadied when being crossed by another runner near the 1300m. DIPLOMAT EXPRESS Raced keenly through the early stages. Impeded for clear running from on straightening until angled outwards near the 175m. POWER PACKED Slow into stride, losing one length. Raced keenly through the early and middle stages. General: Stewards inquired into Jockey P. Knuckey s (DANEHILLS DAUGHTER) use of the whip in the straight. Jockey Knuckey pleaded guilty to a charge under AR.137A(5)(a)(ii) for using the whip on twelve additional occasions prior to the 100m and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days to commence from midnight 15 July 2017 and to expire at midnight 22 July 2017 and in addition was fined the sum of $500. RACE 7: CARBINE CLUB CONGRESS PNG HANDICAP M Correct weight was delayed whilst Jockey W. Pike (THROUGH THE GLASS) and Co-Trainer Mr J. Miller together with Jockey T. Turner (OORAH) and Trainer Mr R. Price viewed the patrol film in the straight with no further action being taken. JUPITER CALLING Commenced to race keenly and was restrained when improving onto heels

4 BELMONT : /4 Race 7 Continued getting its head in the air and bumped at the 900m. Steadied when improving onto heels near the 700m and again steadied when improving onto heels at the 400m before being taken outwards. Impeded for clear running from on straightening until angled inwards passing the 300m with its rider dropping her whip approaching the 200m. SOMETHING BIG Trainer Mr N. Parker advised that he would instruct for the gelding to be ridden in a forward to mid-field position with cover if possible and this information was disseminated. Raced wide throughout. THROUGH THE GLASS Raced keenly through the early stages and then was crowded and restrained shifting outwards abruptly at the 900m. Held tight, bumped heavily and buffeted becoming unbalanced passing the 300m. FEARHILDI Steadied outwards when inconvenienced approaching the 850m. Rider explained he settled further back than anticipated in an attempt to gain cover and was dictated even further back in the field due to a runner in advance of the mare easing back also. MEDIC'S SPIRIT Mis-strode and dipped becoming unbalanced approaching the 850m. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. TALITA (NZ) Bumped outwards at the 900m. Bumped passing the 300m. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr B. Albuino advised that the mare would now be sent for a spell. OORAH Bounded on jumping, losing one length. Crowded, bumped heavily becoming unbalanced and restrained from heels losing its position passing the 300m. DEMI GO ROUND Bounded on jumping. Restrained for a number of strides improving onto heels approaching the 600m. GRINDING HARD Dwelt on jumping, losing two lengths. Steadied inwards from heels passing the 300m. UNIVERSAL SCENE Raced keenly through the early stages and carried outwards and inconvenienced at the 900m and raced wide thereafter. Shifted outwards marginally and bumped heavily becoming unbalanced passing the 300m. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for THROUGH THE GLASS (W. Pike) being crowded, and restrained having to shift outwards abruptly at the 900m. It was established that approaching the 900m JUPITER CALLING (M. Brown) had shifted inwards when improving onto the heels of another runner which resulted in THROUGH THE GLASS having to restrain and shift outwards abruptly. Stewards were mindful that through this section of the race DEMI GO ROUND (Danny Miller) was being steadied by its rider which reduced the speed of the race and was a contributing factor to this incident, however Stewards cautioned Apprentice Brown and advised that in future when shifting ground she is to ensure she is fully clear of runners at all times. Further, Jockeys W. Pike (THROUGH THE GLASS), T. Turner (OORAH), C. Staples (UNIVERSAL SCENE) and Apprentice K. Witten (NIGHTWATCHMAN) appeared before Stewards in relation to an incident leaving the 300m where THROUGH THE GLASS became crowded, bumped and unbalanced which in turn resulted in OORAH being placed onto heels and having to be restrained by its rider. It was established that on approaching the 300m UNIVERSAL SCENE, when tiring, had shifted outwards marginally under a hands and heels ride and simultaneously NIGHTWATCHMAN had shifted inwards when improving rapidly to the outside of OORAH which was also being ridden forward in a hands and heels manner. The two movements of UNIVERSAL SCENE and NIGHTWATCHMAN had resulted in THROUGH THE GLASS becoming

5 BELMONT : /5 Race 7 Continued crowded and bumping OORAH which was in turn placed onto the heels of NIGHTWATCHMAN and obliged to be restrained by its rider. Stewards were satisfied that given all of the circumstances no rider had ridden in a careless manner, however cautioned both Jockey Staples and Apprentice Witten and advised these riders that in future they are to make a greater effort in ensuring their mounts maintain a straight course to avoid incidents of this nature. RACE 8: CARBINE CLUB WA MEMBERS HANDICAP M ROTANA BEACH Lay inwards in the straight. RHINO'S LAD Slipped on jumping. GENEROUS ALBERT Raced keenly through the early and middle stages and was steadied when improving onto heels getting its head in the air passing the 900m. GEORGE 'N' ERNIE Raced keenly through the early and middle stages. Rider advised that her mount felt uncomfortable throughout running. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off fore. Trainer Mr N. Parnham was advised that the gelding would require a Veterinary Certificate of Soundness prior to racing or trialling again. VIA RING A RAH Slipped on jumping. ON THE TERRACE Raced keenly through the middle stages and wide throughout. GENERAL Routine specimens were taken from all winners. The following horses were selected for pre-race blood samples to be taken: Race 6. DAGORLAD, LITTLE MISS MAK, DIPLOMAT EXPRESS, POWER PACKED Race 7. FEARHILDI, DEMI GO ROUND, UNIVERSAL SCENE WITHDRAWALS AFTER FINAL ACCEPTANCES Race 1. CONICAL PEAK Soreness. COUNTRY FOX Nominated Pinjarra 13/7. NUFF SAID Nominated Pinjarra 13/7. Race 7. PERSONA Nominated Pinjarra 13/7. Race 8. STOCKYARD GOSSIP Abscess. Reprimands: Trials: Veterinary Certificates: Senior Rider Embargoes: Whip Rule Breaches Warnings, Fines and Reprimands: SUMMARY Race 4. Jockey P. Knuckey (SIR SNUGALOT) was reprimanded for careless riding under AR.137(a). Race 1. SOXY BEAU Uncompetitive performance. Race 8. GEORGE N ERNIE Lame in the off fore. Race 3. TWO FOR TWENTY TWO. Race 6. Jockey Peter Knuckey (DANEHILLS DAUGHTER) pleaded guilty to a charge under ARR.137A(5)(a)(ii) for using the whip on twelve additional occasions than permitted prior to the 100m. Jockey Knuckey was subsequently suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days to commence from midnight 15 July 2017 and to expire at midnight 22 July 2017 and in addition was fined the sum of $500. In consideration of penalty, Stewards took into account Jockey Knuckey s record in relation to this rule and also that he had won the race.

LATE REPORTS Coolgardie at Kalgoorlie Sunday, 2 July Race 1: Mick Pavlinovich Maiden 1100m MAULDENS MILL Trainer Mr R. Brown advised that the gelding over-raced which he attributed to the addition of blinkers and as a result it failed to settle and did not finish the race off and he was subsequently granted permission to remove the blinkers and add winkers in an attempt to have it relax in running and settle back in the field for future starts. Broome Saturday, 8 July 2017 RACE 4: BROOME AVIATION HANDICAP M UNDER THE SUN (NZ) Trainer Mr G. Delane later reported that on return to the stables the gelding was found to have injuries to both hind bumpers and in his opinion this had contributed to its poor performance and therefore it was no longer his intention to retire the gelding as previously advised. Trainer was advised that the gelding would not be required to trial as instructed, however would require a Veterinary Certificate of Soundness prior to racing or trialling again.
