App S Clenton (Non-Claiming Apprentice) on Storm Patrol. P Graham on Off The Bottom RACE 1: Maiden Handicap 900m Ganar Slowly away. Gone Viral Slowly away. Fifteen Sunflowers Refused to enter barriers and was a late scratching at 12.30pm. Trainer Mr P Farrell was advised that the filly would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again. Ruby La Rouge Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination of horse which laid out rounding the home turn and in the straight revealed no abnormalities. Valadaire When questioned T Huet explained that his instructions were to have the horse settle where it was comfortable. He added that after his mount began awkwardly the gelding which was back in distance was quickly crossed and settled back in the field. He added that he steadied his mount near the 600m when Gone Viral shifted towards him and then placed his mount under pressure shortly thereafter where it ran on only fairly. T Huet was advised that he should have placed more pressure on his mount earlier than he did on this occasion and to ensure he rides his mount so as to leave no room for query. RACE 2: Class 2 Handicap 1578m. Helnho When questioned R Thompson could offer no explanation for the performance of the horse which was under pressure from as far out as the 800m and ran on only fairly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Lady Scarlett Overraced in the early and middle stages.

2 Little Gangster Overraced in the early and middle stages. Interest Free Began awkwardly. 2 RACE 3: Maiden Plate 1158m. Ethelred Carried considerably wider rounding the first turn and then raced wide thereafter. Hampered rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Full Marks Bumped heavily at start. Southo Saturday Hung out rounding the first turn and ran wide carrying Miss Rae Dane and Ethelred considerably wider. A Question of Time A post-race veterinary examination of the horse which beaten 30.1L revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr S Hodge advised that the mare would now leave his stable. Mr Hodge was advised that the horse would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again. Miss Rae Dane Carried considerably wider rounding the home turn. Hampered rounding the home turn. Stuck On You Bumped heavily at start. Truly Yours Near the 900m when racing ungenerously and shifting ground was steadied away from the heels of Stuck On You which shifted in slightly. Near the 600m shifted out when tiring and hampered Miss Rae Dane and Ethelred. A post-race veterinary examination of the horse which was beaten 24 ¾ L revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr R Davies was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse for what was deemed an unsatisfactory performance. Typical Woman Slowly away. Overraced in the early and middle stages and was eased off the heels of Storm Patrol near the 700m. RACE 4: Benchmark 55 Handicap 1158m. Alsoadamas Hackman The declaration of correct weight was delayed to enable stewards to view the patrol films of the start after trainer Mr S Hodge made an application to have the horse declared a non-runner on the basis that it was denied a fair start. Evidence was taken from Mr Hodge, and rider App J Graham along with starter Mr S Tearle and barrier attendant Mr R Hepworth who was assisting J Graham in the barriers. It was established that App Graham had asked for assistance as the horse can be fractious in the barriers. Furthermore it was found that on jumping Hackman which had been standing awkwardly reared as the barriers opened and began very awkwardly and shifted out hampering Dayarma. In the incident App J Graham struck his right foot and became unbalanced which resulted in Hackman losing ground (3L). As the stewards were of the view that Hackman had not been denied a fair start correct weight was declared. App Graham advised that he had intended to be in a prominent position however as a result of the horse beginning very awkwardly settled further back than intended. Hampered and carried wider by Handled which hung out rounding the home turn.

3 CESS Following this race App Graham was examined by the club's medical officer and was stood down from his remaining engagement. Dayarma Slowly away and then was hampered by Hackman. Held up rounding the home turn. Denman Flyer When questioned App R Murray expressed disappointment in the performance of the horse which weakened in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Handled Hung out from the 600m and ran wider rounding the home turn. Loghairo When questioned regarding the performance of the horse R Thompson explained that the mare was unable to lead due to the solid tempo and his mount never travelled well thereafter and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination of Loghairo revealed no abnormalities. Aperta Slowly away. RACE 5: Class 1 Handicap 1358m. Southern Delight - Refused to jump with the field and took no competitive part in the race. Trainer Mr S Hodge was advised that the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again. Crocea Hampered at the start. Raced tight for a short distance near the 600m. Off The Bottom Hampered at the start. Kiseki Dane Hampered at the start. Eased off the heels of Roman Circus Bonaventura Began awkwardly and shifted out. RACE 6: Maiden Plate 1358m. Blevic Blitz Was a late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 1.20pm after the horse was inspected on arrival on course and was found to be lame in front. Trainer Mr G Payne was advised that he would be required to furnish a veterinary clearance prior to the horse being permitted to start in a race again. Bridgeview Lad Overraced in the middle stages. Badly held up rounding the home turn and lost ground on the heels of the weakening Sir Avton. Torquay Hampered at the start. Berry Baby Held up for a short distance rounding the home turn. When questioned regarding his riding of Berry Baby, N Thomas explained that he had been instructed to be positive on the horse and after his mount began well he was able to lead in the early stages. He added that nearing the 1000m when Bridgeview Lad and Sir Avton improved quickly to his outside as he was of the view that he would then have to make too much use of his horse to hold the lead he elected to restrain and race behind Bridgeview Lad. He added that however when the rider of Bridgeview Lad then elected to allow Sir Avton to cross him he was then shuffled further back and was awkward on heels in the middle stages. He added that after

4 CESS being briefly held up rounding the home turn and in restricted room when clear prior to straightening his mount ran on well. Casual Look Hampered at the start. Footisgray Overraced in the early and middle stages. Pink Stiletto Began awkwardly and then overraced in the early and middle stages. Badly held up rounding the home turn on the heels of the weakening Sir Avton. Romicio Slowly away. Dynamic Embrace Hampered at the start. Steadied away from the heels of Rushall near the 1100m when that runner shifted in marginally. Sir Avton Began awkwardly. RACE 7: Benchmark 60 Handicap 1358m. Winarvi App A Adkins replaced App J Graham (Injured In Race 4). Azzalin When questioned regarding the performance of the horse, R Thompson explained that whilst he was obliged to race three wide, the gelding was under pressure from the 500m and raced like a tired horse. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr J Sylvester advised that the gelding would now be spelled. Champawi Acting on a confirmed phone call from Trainer Mr G Allard that the mare had injured itself just prior to being loaded onto its float the horse was a late withdrawal at 11.35am. Trainer Mr G Allard was advised that he would be required to furnish a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to it being permitted to start in a race again. Pesaro When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, P King explained that in his view the horse did not handle the soft track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination of Pesaro revealed the gelding to be displaying cardiac arrhythmia. Stable representative Mr S Perry was advised that a veterinary clearance including the results of a satisfactory ecg must be furnished prior to Pesaro barrier trialling to the satisfaction of stewards. Newcastle Miss Laid in when under pressure in the straight. Camorino Trainer Mr V Jones advised that the ring bit had become entangled and wedged below the jaw during the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed bruising and a minor laceration to the lower gums. Swab samples were taken from all winners and the following runners: Race 5: Southern Delight, Off The Bottom Race 6: Bridgeview Lad, Charpenz (NZ), Footisgray Fines: Reprimands: Suspensions: Bleeders: SUMMARY
