Race 2: Pluck@Vinery Handicap 1300m Aviator trainer Mr G Ryan advised the colt had now been spelled. Race 8: TAB.com.au Handicap 1300m Jemadar the O Shea stable reported that the gelding on return to the stable was found to have sustained a laceration to the near-side medial heel. GOULBURN Monday 10 April 2017 Race 2: Goulburn Hydraulic & Plant Maiden Handicap 1300m Sagan Star C Lever was fined $100 under AR120(b) when he was replaced by K O Hara when he was unable to make the weight on the gelding. LATE RIDING CHANGES As H Bowman was indisposed, due to illness, Stewards permitted the following riding substitutions: Race 1 B Avdulla on Mazaz. Race 2 K McEvoy on Charge Of Light. Race 3 B Avdulla on All Carisma. Race 4 B Avdulla on High Dive. Race 5 K McEvoy on Doctor Zed. Race 6 C Brown on Go Benny. Race 7 K McEvoy on Calabash Express. Race 8 T Angland on Lord De Air. As J Collett was indisposed, due to illness, Stewards permitted the following riding substitutions: Race 1 J Penza on Wildflower. Race 5 B Avdulla on Magnifier.

2 Race 7 Race 8 2 C Lever on Cosmic Turbulence. C Lever on Paragon. RACE 1: Webb & Sons Class 1 Handicap 1600m Standard Bearer slow to begin. Sacamano hung in under pressure in the straight and proved difficult to ride out. A postrace veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Obscura when questioned concerning the performance of the gelding, rider J Doyle stated that in his opinion his mount was not suited by the slow tempo in the early and middle stages and as a result found it difficult to quicken when placed under pressure making the home turn, particularly under its top weight impost of 60.5 kilograms. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. RACE 2: Buttsworth Industrial Supplies Benchmark 65 Handicap 1000m Identic prior to the declaration of correct weight the Stewards viewed the patrol films of the home straight to ascertain as to whether or not there were grounds to protest against the winner Hashtag Noidea. When satisfied that no such grounds existed correct weight was declared. Laid out under pressure in the home straight and had to be corrected by its rider on two occasions. Hashtag Noidea began awkwardly and made contact with the near-side of its barrier. Near the 200m was bumped and taken wider by Identic, which shifted out. Inside the 100m was again bumped by Identic, which continued to shift out under pressure. Over the concluding states again came into contact with Identic when Hashtag Noidea was inclined to shift ground in slightly. Put Em On Ice after being a little slow away, the gelding then failed to muster speed in the early stages. Smiling All bumped on jumping by Identic, which shifted in. I m No Phony raced wide throughout. RACE 3: Seccom Global 3YO Maiden Handicap 1100m Rispetta as C Reith was overweight, Stewards permitted J Penza to be substituted as the rider of the filly. C Reith was subsequently fined $100 under AR120(b). Held up making the home turn. Evolet badly crowded on jumping between Kathaire and Rispetta, which began awkwardly and shifted out. Kathaire on jumping was contacted on the hindquarter by Evolet, which was crowded. Fourth Protocol held up making the home turn. Near the 350m was briefly inconvenienced by Luminescent, which shifted out.

3 3 All Carisma inclined to lay out under pressure in the straight and approaching the 100m had to be corrected by its rider when it shifted out abruptly. Luminescent when questioned concerning the performance, App. D Panya stated that, whilst the filly had shown speed to be forward in a recent barrier trial, her mount today failed to muster any early pace and as a result was obliged to race wide throughout the event. She added nonetheless her mount was disappointing in its failure to respond in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr S Englebrecht undertook to report back to the Stewards on the progress of the filly in the days subsequent. Red Notice rider T Clark was spoken to concerning his use of the whip on a runner out of contention. RACE 4: Bright Print Group 2YO Maiden Plate 1100m Strome slow to begin. Finucane Missile shortly after the start was tightened for room between Sky Boy and Blonde Intuition, which shifted out slightly. When questioned concerning the performance of the colt rider K Jennings stated that his mount raced greenly in the early stages and, furthermore, resented the kickback from a softer section of the track leaving the 1100m chute. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr R Pearse was advised that a warning would be placed against Finucane Missile, which was beaten 19 lengths today. Luvasia inclined to race greenly and laid in making the home turn. High Dive raced greenly when placed under pressure and contacted the running rail near the 350m. Coorg when questioned concerning his riding out of the colt in the straight, J Doyle stated that his mount did not show its customary early speed and as a result he was obliged to settle a little further back than intended. He added, after responding well when placed under pressure rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight, Coorg shifted in abruptly near the 200m, resulting in him having to stop riding and correct his mount. J Doyle advised that the colt then continued to lay in badly, whereby he was restricted in his ability to ride that colt out over the final 100m, where he was obliged to ride in a hands and heels fashion. Having considered J Doyle s explanation and having viewed the patrol films, Stewards found in all the circumstances that J Doyle s riding out of that colt was reasonable. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Stable representative Mr D Beadman was advised a warning would be placed on Coorg relative to it hanging in under pressure over the final 200m. Patriot when questioned regarding the performance of the colt, rider K McEvoy stated his mount was obliged to travel a little wide throughout the event and, whilst it responded to his riding initially, he felt in his opinion the colt would not be suited racing over further ground. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. RACE 5: David Dwyer Bookmaker Metro & Provincial Maiden Handicap 1300m Doctor Zed on return to scale rider K McEvoy lodged an objection against the 2nd placed horse Lady Chalfont, alleging interference near the 150m. On the evidence it was established

4 4 that approaching the 150m Doctor Zed established a narrow run to the inside of Lady Chalfont and shortly afterwards Doctor Zed was impeded and had to be steadied when briefly tightened for room by Lady Chalfont, which shifted ground slightly. Bearing in mind the beaten margin of a short head between the respective runners and the manner in which both horses ran to the line, the Stewards were satisfied, if not for the interference suffered, Doctor Zed would have finished in advance of Lady Chalfont and accordingly the protest was upheld and the placings amended to: 1 st Bye See 2 nd Doctor Zed 3 rd Lady Chalfont 4 th Ahern Doctor Zed was held up for clear running in the early part of the straight. Bye See slow to begin. Magnifier slow to begin. Major Stress near the 100m became awkwardly placed close to the heels of Ahern, which shifted out slightly, and had to be steadied. Laid in under pressure over the final 100m. Lattimer when questioned concerning the performance of the gelding, rider T Clark stated that his mount overraced badly in the early and middle stages and as a result was left without a finishing effort in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. RACE 6: G&K Electrical Class 2 Handicap 1300m Cervinia the mare, which was late arriving on course due to transport difficulties, was examined by the club s veterinarian and passed fit to start. Spring Creek Star bounded on jumping and lost ground. Rider C Reith reported that when his mount began awkwardly and missed the start he was obliged to settle further back than intended. He added, however that his mount thereafter never travelled at any stage and weakened in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not revealed the gelding to be mildly lame in the off-foreleg. Trainer Mr Austin was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to Spring Creek Star racing again. Go Benny slow to begin. Laid in making the turn from the 600m. Pleased slow to begin. J Doyle, rider of 3 rd placed runner, was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the line. Legistation shortly after the start was tightened for room between Colonial Reign and Admit, both of which shifted ground. Held up making the home turn. Cheeky Bella was obliged to race three wide throughout the event. Trainer Mr M Van Gestel reported the mare was found to have struck itself on the off-hind leg during running and had aggravated an old wound.

5 5 Colonial Reign raced keenly in the middle stages and passing the 1000m had to be steadied away from the heels of Cervinia. Had difficulty obtaining clear running until approaching the 200m. RACE 7: Micway Cold Logistic Solutions Maiden Plate 1500m Escapado after being slow to begin, had to be checked when crowded between Reiby Rhymer and Calabash Express, which began awkwardly and shifted out. Held up for some distance leaving the 600m. Over the concluding stages was unable to be fully tested when awkwardly placed close to the heels of Colorado Miss. Saint Jerome slow to begin. Making the home turn was bumped by Cosmic Turbulence, which shifted out to improve. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, rider J Taylor stated that, whilst she was obliged to settle a little further back than intended, her mount nonetheless travelled well and tacked onto the field in the middle stages, however responded only fairly to her riding in the straight thereafter. She added in her opinion the gelding would be better suited by stepping up in distance. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Freeman s Reach hung out making the home turn. Miss Fortuitous near the 600m had to be steadied when tightened for room by Freeman s Reach, which hung out. Laid out under pressure in the straight and proved difficult to ride out. Inside the 100m had to be steadied when briefly tightened by Escapado (T Angland), which shifted out. T Angland was advised to exercise more care. Reiby Rhymer a post-race veterinary examination, which was resuming from a lengthy spell and was beaten 21 lengths, revealed the mare to be displaying a poor post-race recovery. Trainer Mr T Rae was advised a warning would be recorded against the mare in respect to it being uncompetitive today. Mr Rae assured the Stewards he would now drop the mare back in grade and distance at its next race start. RACE 8: Clarendon Tavern Hawkesbury Stayers Prelude Benchmark 78 Handicap 2000m Damedge the mare was a late withdrawal at 4.05pm on veterinary advice when it suffered a laceration above its near-side eye en route to the course. Classic Records on jumping was bumped by Lord De Air, which shifted in. Rider T Clark reported to Stewards on return to scale that in his opinion the gelding did not run out the 2000m of today s race. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities other than the gelding lost its off-fore plate in running. Napoleon crowded on jumping. Lord De Air laid in under pressure in the straight. Crosley Hotshot rider G Schofield reported his mount never travelled on the bridle at any stage and in his opinion raced like a tired horse. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off-foreleg. Stable representative Mr J Bruce was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding racing again.

Bearing in mind the totality of whip use, no action was taken. Trainer Mr W Attard was fined $100 under AR47 for nominating the mare Heavenly Mum for Race 6 the Class 2 Handicap 1300m, an event for which that mare was not eligible. Swab samples were taken from all winners and the following runners: Race 1: Mazaz, Sacamano, Wildflower. Race 4: High Dive. Race 5: Bye See (2). Race 6: Pleased, Admit. Race 8: Crosley Hotshot, Napoleon.
