1 HOW TO MAKE YOUR ENTRY 1. Online - Entries and payments can now be processed online. Please visit the website at Entries will also be accepted on the day at an additional 5.00 per class. 2. Mandatory Payment towards Medical Cover As a requirement of our affiliation to British Showjumping and in line with other shows, each exhibitor must pay a 5 contribution towards external medical provider. 3. One Entry Form to be completed per OWNER please. Additional forms are available on our website at or by telephoning , alternatively they can be photocopied if necessary. 4. Please provide as much information as possible. Write clearly in block capitals. 5. Before returning your entries, ensure you retain a copy for your records. 6. Pre - show entry fees will be accepted by cheque or credit card. Payment on the day is strictly cash only. Post - dated cheques will be returned. Please do not send cash through the post. ENTRIES DELIVERED BY HAND WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT THE OFFICE AFTER 7.00 PM, PLEASE NOTE: Tickets, exhibitor numbers and passes will be sent to the name and address on the Entry Form in May. Prize Money Prize vouchers will be issued with rosettes in the ring and prize money can be collected from the ICE PLC cash point located by the main ring on Show days. Alternatively prize vouchers can be sent to the Show Office before 31 July. Prize vouchers received after this date will not be paid out. Prize money will not automatically be issued without a prize card voucher being sent to the Show Office. Other additional payments will be issued by the Show Office within 8 weeks of the Show. Cheques not banked by end of September will be invalid and the Society will donate the value of the cheque to a charity of their choice. Four double clears will qualify in accordance with Rule b) For all registered horses born on or after 1st January 2009 (for competitions held in 2016) irrespective of points. Horses will be eligible for Double Clear qualification to attend 2nd rounds providing they reach the age of 7 years or under in the same calendar year as the Horse & Hound Foxhunter Final, in accordance with Rule Four double clears will qualify. 4 RULES SPECIFIC TO BRITISH SHOWJUMPING CLASSES (Please also see other Show Rules) a No claims can be entertained for anything that may happen to any competitor, horse, groom or any other person or property. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the promoters, the Cheshire Agricultural Society CIO, its Employees, Servants or Officers, against any legal action arising from such an incident. b Entries confined to Horses and Ponies registered with the British Showjumping and must be ridden by members in accordance with British Showjumping Rule 79. In the event of insufficient entries, prize money will be awarded in accordance with Rule c Removal: The show organizers reserve the right to decline, exclude or remove any person(s) or animal(s) from the show without being required to assign reason or being liable for any compensation. d Refund of Entry Fee will only be made in accordance with British Showjumping Rule e Rule No member shall allow a stallion for which he/she is responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete, in any show jumping competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure other members of the public are not put at risk of injury. f Pre - show entries at a discounted rate close with fees on 1 MAY No pre - show entries will be accepted after 1 May Entries on the day will be accepted. g ONLINE ENTRY AND PAYMENT IS NOW AVAILABLE AT OUR WEBSITE: - PAYMENT OF PRIZE MONEY ON THE DAY: EXHIBITORS WILL BE AWARDED PRIZE CARDS, WHICH MUST BE REDEEMED ON THE DAY. LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED, PROVIDED THE CLASS IS NOT FULL, ALL ENTRIES ON THE DAY MUST BE PAID FOR AT TIME OF ENTRY, IN CASH, NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. h Junior members competing on horses are only able to do so from the beginning of the calendar year in which the age of 12 is reached. 5 SHOW RULES 1 PASSPORTS AND HEIGHT CERTIFICATES must be brought to the Show as Trading Standards may check passports. No Pony measuring will be carried out on the Showground. 2 DISEASE No animal will be accepted on the Showground with any sign of disease condition as confirmed by an appointed Veterinary Surgeon. Offending animals must be withdrawn from the Showground immediately. 3 VETERINARY FEES Exhibitors will be expected to meet any fees for Veterinary attention which may be charged at the time. 4 ENTRY FEES Under no circumstance will Entry Fees be returned in the case of cancellation of entries by an Exhibitor or postponement or cancellation of the Show for whatever reason. Competitors who leave the showground without paying for their entries will be subject to an additional administration fee. 5 ATTENDANTS Exhibitors or their attendants must remain with their exhibits during the whole time they are at the Show and must comply with and be governed by the Society s Rules and Regulations. 6 HEADWEAR Anyone riding a horse or pony must wear a skull cap or hat and safety harness according to the current BSI or European Standard at all times. 7 JUDGING will commence as near as circumstances allow, at the times stated in the Schedule under the respective sectional headings and Exhibitors will be held responsible for their exhibits being in their respective ring at the proper time. 8 PROTESTS Any Exhibitor wishing to lodge a protest must do so in writing to the Executive Director (within one hour of completion of judging) on the Show day together with the sum of All protests to be investigated by a committee consisting of at least three members of the Council whose decision shall be final. 9 STEWARDS The Committee delegates full power to the Stewards to enforce the Society s Rules and Regulations. 10 DISCLAIMER Whilst the Society will take all reasonable steps to prevent accidents to persons or injury to property, neither the Society nor its Officers or Servants accept responsibility for such accidents or injuries howsoever caused and whether or not involving negligence on the part of any such officers or servants. The Show, its Officers or Servants, shall not be responsible for any accident, damage or loss however caused, that may occur to any Exhibitor or his Servant, or to any article, animal, or property brought into the Showground, or while entering or leaving the Showground. Each Exhibitor shall be solely responsible for any loss, injury or damage that may have been done to or occasioned by, or arising from, any machinery, or other article, or any animal or property exhibited by him. It is a condition of entry that each Exhibitor shall indemnify and hold harmless the Show from and against all actions, suits and claims on account of such damage or injury. The Society through its Secretary (or Show Director) shall have full and free right to refuse to accept any entry, to cancel any entry after being made and accepted, to refuse admission to the Showground of any proposed Exhibit and/or to remove or order to be removed at the risk and expense of the Owner thereof any Exhibit which has been admitted to the Showground. There shall be no obligation upon the Show Committee to make or offer any explanation or reason for any such action and the Show Committee shall not incur any liability or responsibility in this matter. 11 POSTPONEMENT OR ABANDONMENT Exhibitors shall not have any claim against the Society or any member of the Society in respect of any loss or damage whatsoever consequent upon the Show failing (for whatever reason) to be held. 12 EXERCISING of horses must not be carried out on the Showground Roads, Walkways, Main Ring or Judging Rings. Only Exhibitor and Groom to be allowed in the collecting rings. 13 PRIZE MONEY Prize vouchers will be issued with rosettes in the ring and prize money can be collected from the ICE PLC cash point located by the main ring on Show days. Alternatively prize vouchers can be sent to the Show Office before 31 July. Prize vouchers received after this date will not be paid out. Trophies must not be taken outside the UK. 15 DOGS In the interests of safety no dogs will be allowed in horse walks or collecting rings. 16 REFUNDS will only be given on the production of a valid veterinary certificate together with the return of all exhibitor tickets and gate passes. 17 ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT brought to the Show must have a current PAT test certificate. 18 CURRENT ANIMAL WELFARE LEGISLATION applies at this Show and the Society will support any action where any breach of such legislation occurs. 19 DOPING The Society takes a very serious view of doping, whether intentional or unintentional. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor, particularly in the twenty four hours before the Show, to ensure that nothing is fed, administered or applied to an animal that contains a prohibited substance. Ignorance is not an adequate defence. 20 Competitors who leave the showground without paying for their entries will be subject to an additional administration fee. 21 ENTRIES CLOSE WITH FEES 1 MAY Payment on day strictly cash only. 5
