Race 2 - Ridgeview Park Stud Handicap metres: Correct weight was delayed when Brad Rawiller, rider of La Consolidata (second placegetter), wished to view the photo finish image before agreeing with the judges decision. Sickening (NZ) - commenced awkwardly and shortly after the start was inconvenienced by Timeless Style, that shifted out away from Joes Pride. Raced wide without cover throughout. Rider Ben Allen explained he was unable to restrain his mount in order to obtain cover so he elected to stride forward. He added his mount may not have been suited by todays Soft 7 track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken for analysis. Timeless Style - commenced awkwardly. Raced keenly during the early stages. Joes Pride - held up rounding the home turn and in the straight before gaining clear running near the 150m. Taylahs Secret - led, tactics queried; rider Jack Martin reported with the anticipated lack of speed in the event he was instructed to settle in a forward position and highlighted the mare had raced successfully in the past when able to lead. Race 3 - Schweppes Handicap metres: Dizired - commenced awkwardly. The Perfect Crop (NZ) - hampered at the start. Raced in restrited room over the concluding stages and as a result rider Michael Dee was unable to ride the colt out in his normal manner. Sonsee Array - commenced awkwardly. Sagaab - slow to begin. Over-raced in the middle stages. Passing the 1000m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Sonsee Array (Paddy Pilley) that shifted in; rider Paddy Pilley was advised to exercise more care. Stormy Shore - connections advised would be ridden mid-field with cover; restrained from the start and settled mid-field. Shes Got Speed - slow to begin. Race 6 - Ladbrokes up for the Challenge Handicap metres: Az Given (NZ) - commenced awkwardly before settling at the rear. Rider Michael Dee reported he was instructed to ride the mare with cover. Speranta (NZ) - passing the 1000m, when over-racing, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Weather The Storm (Ben Melham) that shifted in; Ben Melham was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise more care. Passing the 600m was tightened between Weather The Storm, that shifted out marginally, and Champagne Ready. Safariann - raced wide until obtaining a position outside the leader approaching the 800m. Approaching the 100m had to be steadied when tightened between Tessabelle, that shifted out marginally, and Mai Thai that shifted in when taken in by Weather The Storm. Champagne Ready - rider Craig Williams stated that although the mare raced wide throughout, was disappointing over the concluding stages. Race 7 - Le Pine Funerals Handicap metres: Liming (NZ) - tightened at the start between Baubo (NZ) and Caves that shifted in. Caves - commenced awkwardly. Loveitt - over-raced through the early and middle stages. Raced wide without cover throughout. Sweet Melody (NZ) - held up rounding the turn and until the 250m. High Lago - laid in under pressure upon straightening. Baubo (NZ) - rider Ben Melham reported the mare laid in under pressure over the concluding stages he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to fully ride his mounts out through to the finish.
