Must produce Medical Certificate prior to riding again: C Newitt and D Yendall will both be examined by the Club s doctor at Bendigo tomorrow prior to riding Race 1 PRO RIDE RACING MAIDEN PLATE metres: Heirlooms began awkwardly and lost ground. All Ruby also jumped awkwardly. Near the 800m Shooting Sally was momentarily tightened in onto Abbadoo when All Ruby (D Lane) shifted ground inwards. Under all the circumstances D Lane was severely reprimanded for careless riding under AR137(a). D Lane, rider of All Ruby (third placegetter) was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out hands and heels to the winning post. Stewards were satisfied D Lane s actions did not affect the final placings. Race 2 GRC FUNCTION& EVENT CENTRE MAIDEN PLATE metres: That s Pure Gold was fractious in the mounting yard then proved difficult to load and was also fractious in the barriers. Stable representative Mr L Darcy was advised that an official warning would be placed on the filly for her pre-race behaviour and barrier manners. Spin Me Out and Miromiro were both slow to begin.

2 Spin Me Out then failed to stretch out in the early stages. Till Then raced three wide without cover. Between the 500m and the 400m Miromiro, which was held up, had to be steadied off the heels of Promise To Rock before shifting ground outwards bumping with Till Then and carrying that mare wider on the track. C Newitt was struck in the face by the head of That s Pure Gold on return to scale. C Newiit was examined by the Club s doctor after the running of the race and stood down from fulfilling his remaining engagement today. When questioned regarding the performance of Miromiro, V Duric stated that he was instructed to take up a forward position if possible however after being slow to begin his mount settled further back in the field than he would have liked. He added that passing the 600m he was reluctant to shift to the outside of Till Then and he felt that he would be posted very wide without cover so he elected to follow Promise To Rock through however was held up and unable to improve until straightening. He further added that once clear in the straight Miromiro ran to the line reasonably well. C Newitt, rider of That s Pure Gold which was having its first start and performed below market expectations, explained that he had trialled the filly at Flemington previously and it had performed well however today That s Pure Gold was fractious in the mounting yard and barriers which was the only explanation he could offer for the poor performance today. A post race veterinary examination of That s Pure Gold revealed no abnormalities. A post race veterinary examination of Spin Me Out revealed no abnormalities. Race 3 SIGNIFIC MAIDEN PLATE metres: Greek Legend began awkwardly. Am I There Yet was slow to begin (two lengths). Amadeus Diamond and Romanarkus bumped shortly after the start. Approaching the 700m Primaluna had to be momentarily steadied when Ricochet Rhythm shifted ground inwards. From the 600m until approaching the 400m Host Nation was awkwardly placed close to the heels of Curley Sue which commenced to weaken and was unable to improve. Amadeus Diamond raced wide throughout. Greek Legend hung out under pressure over the final 200m resulting in Marcello s Sonata being carried wider. Upon entering the home straight Curley Sue began to give ground before being eased out of the event over the final 200m. After the running of the race the RV veterinary surgeon reported that Curley Sue had bled from both nostrils and trainer Ms N Butterworth was advised that the mare is now subject to the mandatory three month suspension from racing. After the running of the race the RV veterinary surgeon reported that Amadeus Diamond had also bled from both nostrils and connections were advised the gelding will now incur the mandatory three month suspension from racing.

3 Race 4 CENTREBET APP FOR IPHONE HANDICAP metres: Prior to the start of the race it was established that Shot Of Glory would be ridden closer today if possible. Shot Of Glory was ridden accordingly. Shot Of Glory and Lovasova over-raced during the early stages. The Tinker layed in in the home straight and near the 250m bumped with Bad Parent. D Stackhouse (Bad Parent) was fined $200 for using his whip eight times forehand prior to the 100m, which is three times more than permitted under the rules. Apprentice P Moloney (Dramastic) was reminded of his obligations with regard to using his whip on a horse that is out of contention. J Benbow (Ready Zuca) was fined $200 for using his whip seven times forehand prior to the 100m, which is two times more than permitted under the rules. W Egan (The Tinker) was severely reprimanded for using his whip six times forehand prior to the 100m, which is one time more than permitted under the rules. When questioned regarding leading on Lovasova, which is contrary to its most recent starts, B Rawiller explained that he was given no specific instructions however after jumping well and in a small field he was allowed to obtain the lead comfortably. B Rawiller further added that Lovasova pulled hard during the early and middle stages, refusing to settle. V Duric, rider of Shot Of Glory which performed blow expectations, could offer no explanation for the apparent poor performance today. A post race veterinary examination of Shot Of Glory revealed no abnormalities. Race 5 BAY FM MORNING CREW HANDICAP metres: Spring Cheer raced in New Zealand on May which does not appear in the race book and an announcement was made accordingly. Pyroclastic began awkwardly and made contact with the outside gate and was then inclined to lay out in the early part and as a result raced three wide. Rounding the 1800m turn Pyroclastic and Spring Cheer (NZ) bumped on several occasions. Near the 500m Spring Cheer (NZ) shifted ground wide on the track to improve its position and in doing so carried Pyroclastic outwards. Besant was held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight before obtaining a clear run. Besant and Spurring Success bumped on straightening resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced. Over the concluding stages Velvet Sky had to be momentarily steadied when Spring Cheer (NZ) layed in. Race 6 HYGAIN FEEDS HANDICAP metres: Prior to the start of the race trainer Mr C Parry advised Stewards they would attempt to have Charlottes Mint ridden in a more forward position if it begins well, as at its previous starts it has been slow into

4 stride. Charlottes Mint raced up on the speed and Mr Parry was severely reprimanded and reminded of his obligations under the provisions of AR134A in that he failed to inform Stewards of change of tactics at least 30 minutes prior to the advertised starting time of the race. Starred For Life was slow into stride. Charlottes Mint and Tayla Lee bumped on jumping. Upon jumping Mango Mojito shifted in momentarily hampering Westend Smash. Mango Mojito was inclined to over-race in the early and middle stages. Help (NZ) raced wide without cover. Starred For Life hung out between the 600m and the home turn. Kimiko layed in under pressure over the final 300m. Near the 150m D Yendall (Mango Mojito) had the whip accidentally knocked from his grasp by the whip of J Cartwright (Tayla Lee). After the running of the race the RV veterinary surgeon reported that Help had rhythmic arrhythmia and trainer Mr E Jusufovic was advised that he must submit a veterinary clearance together with the results of an ECG prior to Help racing again. Rider B Rawiller (Starred For Life) reported that his mount was inclined to race greenly throughout the race. A post race veterinary examination of Starred For Life revealed no abnormalities. Race 7 SCHWEPPES HANDICAP metres: Trainer Mr H Conners was fined $200 for his race morning notification of T Neve as rider of Bellarine Rose in this event. Reindeer Lake jumped outwards at the start carrying Halfblood Prince out onto Jimmy Shiraz which lost ground as a result. Bellarine Rose was slow to begin. Bellarine Rose raced wide throughout. Reindeer Lake and Harold Bluetooth were both held up rounding the home turn and the early part of the home straight before obtaining clear running. After passing the 200m Reindeer Lake obtained a tight run between Mr Speaker and That s My Name, which was laying in whilst weakening. As a result That s My Name became unbalanced and lost ground. A post race veterinary examination of That s My Name, which weakened noticeably over the final 100m, revealed no abnormalities other than a slower than normal recovery. Race 8 CENTREBET HANDICAP metres: Scooby Doo jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Wollongong (NZ) jumped outwards at the start making contact with Macchiato Espresso.

5 Sir Benjamin raced three wide without cover throughout. Sir Benjamin was inclined to lay out in the home straight proving difficult to ride out. Near the 200m Incorruptible raced up onto the heels of Macchiato Espresso and was steadied and over the final 50m had difficulty obtaining clear running and went to the line not fully tested. Macchiato Espresso hung out under pressure over the final 300m placing its rider at a disadvantage. Certain Hope bled from both nostrils during the race and trainer Mr J Moloney was advised that Certain Hope is suspended from racing for the mandatory three months. P Mertens, rider of Macchiato Espresso (fifth placegetter), was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out hands and heels to the winning post. Stewards were satisfied that his actions did not affect the final placings. R Wheeler (Terms Of Trade) was reprimanded for using his whip six times forehand prior to the 100m which is one time more than permitted under the rules. A post race veterinary examination of Macchiato Espresso revealed the gelding to have a poor post race recovery and it was noted Macchiato Espresso was coughing.
