2 Royston Carr for the late notification of Brendon McCoull as the rider of Miss Che Che in Race 2. Due to being dislodged from Bag of Monkeys (Race 6) in the mounting yard and then being transported to h ospital, Stewards advised Chantal Willis that she must submit a medical certificate and undergo concussion te sting prior to riding in trackwork, trials or races. RACE 1 QUIT SMOKING MAIDEN/CLASS 1 PLATE 2100 METRES St Anne was slow into stride. Duran over raced in the early stages. Approaching the winning post, Our Anna shifted out under pressure. Jockey David Pires, the rider of Lacey Azz which performed below expectations today, explained that the mare travelled well throughout the run, however, Lacey Azz failed to respond to his riding from the 400 metres. A post race veterinary inspection of Lacey Azz failed to reveal any abnormalities. RACE 2 ABSOLUTE RISK 3YO & UPWARDS MAIDEN PLATE 1100 METRES Upon jumping, Col s Hero shifted in bumping with Sentry Duty which had begun awkwardly. Col s Hero laid in under pressure approaching the 200 metres and again approaching the 100 metres. RACE 3 BE PHYSICALLY ACTIVE 3YO & UPWARDS MAIDEN PLATE

3 1400 METRES Tricky Game un derwent a pre race veterinary inspection as the mare had not started since 16 January 2013 and was subsequently passed fit to take its place in the field Stephen Lockhart, the t rainer of Sir Halliday (Chantal Willis) notified Stewards that the gelding wo uld be ridden back today, which will be in contrast to its most recent pattern of racing. This information was disseminated via social media and the Course Broadcaster. Sir Halliday was ridden accordingly. Winding Rose was slow to begin (1L). Winding Rose shifted in near the 1100 metres and brushed the running rail. Princess Bombora raced wide without cover throughout. Sir Halliday was carried wide upon entering the home straight by Princess Bombora (Rhonda Mangan). Apprentice Mangan was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in the future. Approaching the winning post Rangaondarun (Rasit Yetimova) was checked off the heels of Ashalar who shifted out before hampering Mercyful Fate. After taking into account all the circumstances, Rasit Yetimova was issued with a severe reprimand under AR 137 careless riding and notified that he must exercise more care when in similar circumstances in the future. RACE 4 DJ MOTORS BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1200 METRES Bazanne jumped inwards a t the start bumping with Carnelian Crystal which in turn shifted in checking Constant Rhythm. Bazanne raced wide throughout without cover. Shuji Amano, the rider of Bazanne which was eased down in the home straight, explained that he felt there may have been something amiss with the mare s action. A post race veterinary inspection of Bazanne failed to reveal

4 an y abnormalities. Near the 100 metres, Carnelian Crystal shift ed out under pressure resulting in Rollinginthedeep having to be momentarily steadied. Passing the 100 metres, Aventador shifted out under pressure. RACE 5 SALAMANCA FRESH BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1400 METRES Christie Burt, the t rainer of Miss Eye Candy (Rhonda Mangan) notified Stewards that the mare would be ridden more forward today, which will be in contrast to its most recent pattern of racing. This information was disseminated via social media and the Course Broadcaster. Miss Eye Candy was ri dden accordingly. Hayley McCarthy pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 120(b) and was fined $150 for accepting the ride on Heartbreak Lass and then being found to be overweight and having to be replaced on this mare. Player One was slow to begin (2L). Royal Express was slow to muster early speed. Passing the 400 metres, Seven Mile King had to be checked off the heels of Incumblonde after that mare shifted out away from the heels of Miss Eye Candy which had also shifted ground outwards marginally. Stewards did not hold any one rider fully to blame for this incident due firstly to the contributing factor of Incumblonde shifting out and placing Seven Mile King in tight racing room, and secondly Stewards did not believe the marginal shift from Miss Eye Candy was the sole cause of the incident. When asked for an explanation for the improved performance of Player One compared to its most recent start trainer Max Cowen stated that the gelding was better suited to the distance of today s race and had wor ked well leading up to the race. Mr Cowen further stated that the gelding does not appreciate racing inside other runners which had occurred last start. Brendan McCoull rider of Player One reiterated Mr Cowen s view and further stated that the pace of toda y s race helped the gelding obtain more racing room. RACE 6 HEALTHY SPACES AND PLACES BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP

5 1100 METRES Bag of Monkeys was a late scratching at 2.32 pm by order of Stewards after dislodging its rider (Chantal Willis) in the mounting yard and galloping onto the course proper for some distance before being recaptured. Chantal Willis was examined by the on course paramedi cs before being transported to h ospital for further treatment. Prior to the announcement of correct weight, Stewards ordered all monies invested on Bag of Monkeys to be refunded in full. All successful wagers made prior to 2.32
