Must produce Medical Certificate prior to riding again: Brodie Loy - Indisposed Did not attend meeting: Other Comments / Explanations: Race 1 TRENTHAM ESTATE MAIDEN PLATE metres: For some distance after passing the winning post on the first occasion Mabrouk raced quiet fiercely with its head up, when being restrained to avoid the heels of Goes Bellistic. Kulamani raced wide without cover. Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight Zenstar had some difficulty in obtaining clear running before shifting to the outside approaching the 200 metres. The track was upgraded to a Dead 4 at 11.50am, post the first race. Race 2 BETFAIR POWER TO THE PUNTER MAIDEN PLATE metres: Jupe underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers after being kicked by another runner and was subsequently passed suitable to race.

2 Dane Ace and Quinzel were both slow to begin. M. Payne (By The Vines) explained that it was not her intention to lead on the gelding today however her mount began well and therefore rode it accordingly. Race 3 MILDURA CARNIVAL AUG 30 & SEP 1 MAIDEN PLATE metres: Rounding the home turn Opal Empress hung out. J. Rule (Plenty To Offer) was issued with a severe reprimand for using his whip when his mount was out of contention and showing no response. Race 4 EUSTON CLUB RESORT MAIDEN PLATE metres: At the start Rory s Halo and Switch Point made heavy contact on jumping away. Fish And Tricks was slow to begin. On straightening Testaman hung in under pressure and had to be checked off the heels of Honourable John. Race 5 MILDURA CUP SEP HANDICAP metres: Trainer Frank Conlan was fined the sum of $50 for presenting Anopinion into the mounting yard with a nose roll on which is not a part of the horses declared gear and therefore was removed. In Spirit was slow to begin. A short distance after the start De Green D or had to be checked and De Lady Royale, Regal Ruben and Limbo Dancer were all crowded for room between Magnus Belle and Julia Jean, both of which shifted ground. In the early stages Magnus Belle raced quite fiercely with its head up when being restrained and for some distance approaching the 600 metres had a number of runners tight to the inside, they namely being Julia Jean, Halo Dot Com and Anopinion which all then raced tight for a short distance. Limbo Dancer raced wide without cover Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight Julia Jean was held up before being shifted out to gain clear running near the 200 metres. Passing the 200 metres Julia Jean was held up for clear running until nearing the 100 metres and then over the concluding stages could not be ridden out to the winning post when again held up between Limbo Dancer and In Spirit, both of which shifted some ground. J. Todd (Limbo Dancer) was issued with a reprimand regarding his backhand whip use, in that it was excessive when not giving his mount an opportunity to respond. K. Post (De Green D Or) was issued with a severe reprimand for using his whip on a horse that was out of contention. When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of Halo Dot Com today as compared to its last two starts, trainer Mr R Daniel explained that the reason for the mares previous failures were due to rain affected tracks, and in future he would avoid racing the mare on similar surfaces.

3 Race 6 BETFAIR MURRAY MALLEE WINTER SPRINT SERIES HEAT metres: Confirmed telephone call from Mr J. Searle trainer of Lotto Meo who explained that the gelding was lame in an off hind leg and unfit to start. Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Lotto Meo at 9.15am. Mr. Searle will submit the relevant documentation in regards to this which will include a veterinary clearance. Ekibuuka was slow to begin. Master Houdini over raced in the early stages. Diamonds At Dusk was obliged to race wide without cover. Passing the 200 metres Jaffar was held up and had to be shifted out to obtain clear running near the 150 metres. H. Coffey (Spirit Of Many) reported that his mount wanted to hang out quite badly in the straight. A subsequent veterinary examination of Spirit Of Many revealed some soreness over the hindquarters. J. Todd (Jaffar) was questioned regarding the performance of that gelding which was below market expectations and he was of the view that Jaffar is better suited over 1400m. J. Todd was not overly disappointed with the performance as in his view Jaffar is not as suited over the 1200m. Race 7 BETFAIR MURRAY MALLEE WINTER STAYERS SERIES HEAT metres: As no apprentices were available senior rider K. Post was permitted to replace Apprentice B. Loy as he was indisposed, upon Stynes. Cisco Delago jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Musee Market jumped away very awkwardly and lost ground. Hiesman was raced wide without cover in the early stages before gaining a position outside of the leader passing the 1200 metres. Inside the 600 metres Toy Ruler was held up for some distance when racing tight to the inside of Universal Rose until entering the home straight. Apprentice B. Hussey (Awakening Dream) was questioned with regard to her tactics adopted on Awakening Dream in this race, particularly in the home straight. Miss Hussey explained that she was instructed to ride the gelding where comfortable as it was expected to get back in the field. She added that she started putting her mount under some pressure from the 600 metres. She also added that when the gelding commenced to make ground in the home straight she was blocked for a run near the 300 metres, and then after the 200 metres was held up behind Universal Rose before checking and shifting her mount out inside the 100 metres, before then making ground to the winning post. In all the circumstances Miss Hussey s explanations were recorded and noted if required for further reference. Race 8 MACAU 0-62 HANDICAP metres: Morchowie Miss was slow to begin. Near the 300 metres J. Cartwright accidentally dropped his whip.

4 The stewards considered objections from J. Lyon rider of Morchowie Miss being declared 4 place getter, J. Cartwright rider of Nestus being declared 3 placegetter and M. Payne rider of Cash Caddy being declared 2 placegetter, all on the grounds of alleged interference against Curragh King being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference inside the final 200 metres. On the evidence it was established that Curragh King hung out despite the efforts of its rider and near the 150 metres Cash Caddy had to be steadied and changed course after being taken out by Curragh King. Then a short distance after this near the 100 metres to the winning post both Nestus and Cash Caddy had to change course after being taken wider on the track when having to avoid Curragh King which continued to hang out. The stewards were of the view that whilst all three runners suffered interference they could not be satisfied that any of the three horses would have beaten the winner, bearing in mind the beaten margins of a length by a head by a short neck. Therefore all three objections were dismissed. A subsequent veterinary examination of Curragh King revealed no abnormalities. Trainer C. Kelly was advised that the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of the stewards before being permitted to race again. Race 9 SUNRAYSIA DAILY 0-62 HANDICAP 1400 metres: Prussia Island was slow to jump away and lost considerable ground. Vavavic raced wide without cover. After passing the 1000 metres Before You Think got its head up when over racing and therefore having to be restrained off the heels of Victorian Crown. Just prior to this incident Victorian Crown shifted in when not two lengths clear of Before You Think, at the time. M. Payne rider of Victorian Crown was advised to exercise more care. D. Yendall rider of Edge Of Storm which performed below market expectation could offer no explanation for the geldings disappointing performance. After passing the 200 metres Before You Think which was weakening had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Boydari which shifted out to improve.
